Donald Trump’s sons are quietly buying up tungsten mines, AI, and drone companies right before the US government awards them contracts.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are no longer sticking to generic family business. Funds linked to them have invested in 15 defense, robotics and AI companies that generated at least $3.2 billion in direct federal business after the investments, plus $3.1 billion in future contract options. Their proposed Kazakhstan tungsten deal also carries up to $1.6 billion in federal letters of interest, although that is not money already paid. Some companies had government contracts before the brothers invested, and there is no public proof they influenced an award, but putting the president’s family on the private side of strategic industrial policy creates an obvious conflict risk.
