I have the DDM intake with the pleated filter. It sounds amazing at WOT, but at part throttle there is a highly annoying whistle from the intake (in addition to the whoosh, for lack of a better term, that is present through the rev range).

Does anyone have experience with an option that has more supercharger whine than stock, but doesn't whistle at part throttle? Or are those things inevitably linked?

Wonderful day to work in the car. Swapped out the old 330’s for some 367cc bosch ones. Slightly higher flow and a four hole spray nozzle instead of two. Ev1 connectors so no pigtails needed.

Car started up and ran rough for 20sec untill the ECU adapted, after that; silky smooth.

ECU works as expected, pulling fuel at moderate load to conpensate for the larger injectors.

A sucessful mod on a nice day! Hope your day is as good as mine 🤗.

My 2006 R53 has 110,000 miles on it.

The symptoms are:

- P1237 (Pressure sensor, intake manifold before compressor input low) comes on with the engine light when driving normally.

- When pushed harder, P1688 (Electronic throttle monitor ring level 2/3 air mass calculation error) comes on and the car goes into limp mode, almost stalling. Well at one point it felt like it.

- It can turn on and off fine but once you let it cool down overnight it has trouble starting. However, once warmed up it starts up fine.

Any help or ideas to what could cause this

I was thinking maybe it’s a vacuum or boost leak or MAF or MAP sensor malfunction

Hey guys,
I have an 2011 mini one and my airbag light came on a few months back. At first I could reset the code but it came back after a day or two. Now it comes back immediately. It says occupancy sensor communication fault passenger side. I don’t have money to buy the replacement part at the moment and my car need his TÜV (im from Germany, I don’t know if other country’s have the same thing).

I watched some videos and they said the telltale light saying the passenger airbag is off should be always on if there is no one in this seat. It never did that tho.

Could that be an indicator something else is going on? I already exchanged the fuse in slot 16.

Any ideas to fix it without buying the new part?
Is there something else I could try?

I’m considering installing a Wavetrac LSD while I have my R53’s motor out. For those of you running one, how does it act on the street while daily driving? Is it noticeable during slow speed, tight turns?
Is it still smooth or lurchy, jumpy while torque tries to transmit to each tire?
Have you noticed the front end trying to push when turning on wet roads like the diff is locked?
My only experience with lockers and LSDs is with rock crawlers and I wouldn’t want that for a daily driver.

Hey all, I've recently have been dealing with some strange issues. A month ago my r53 smelled incredibly hot (along with the cel and eml light being on which has been coming on here and there prior, so much so I was sure it was going to blow up on my way home. Got it to a shop and they said I was low on coolant, but they said it was due to a bad pcv valve.. (hmm)

Fast forward to two weeks ago, I was leaving to run errands and I had two pretty sizable puffs of white smoke come out of the tailpipe and it left residue on my window that made me have to use the rear wiper. A week after, I was out doing errands again and both lights came on. Smelled coolant a little bit, then when coming to a stop light on the way home, I noticed a trail of white smoke trail up to the front of the car from the back. I took it back to the same shop and he said he ran a combustion test three times and it came back okay. He told me just because it didn't do it for him doesn't mean it won't, drive it and keep an eye on it.

Thoughts? Car seems to run just fine and did prior. Ran across something about a bad thermostat housing, could that be it even though my temp gauge never moved from center??
