Posting after Training

I’m awaiting bmq nov 2 but I’m curious to what my posting will be, I know I do PAT, then common core, OJE, and then schooling, then I get posted, is it possible to get posted to Quebec or comox rather then cold lake?

Trade is AVN TECH

AOS-L Tips

Hello everyone,

I’ll be going on AOS-L in Nopiming soon and am looking for any tips that would help on course, as well as what to expect. I understand it has been cut to 7 days from 9 but the JIs do not outline how long the solo period is.

DEO Pilot, with Timeline!

BMOQ start date Jan 25 2027!!

The amount of misinformation I've seen over the years on this page as well as r/caf is terrible. These pages are filled with people who know very little about trade openings and love to make up stories about how impossible it is to become a DEO Pilot, how there are "10 year waitlists", and how the "trade is closed". These posts and opinions only demoralized me and led me to frantically calling up my recruiting centre often, only to find that the trade was open for the past few months.

To the applicant who dreams of becoming an RCAF Pilot and is always told that they can't, or that they missed the ROTP boat, or that there's some 5-10 year waitlist and that it's not worth waiting it out, don't listen to anyone!! Your best bet is to make sure you knock on your recruiting centre's door on 01 April when the financial year starts, provided that the trade opens up. Yes, I was lucky that this was the one year that 40 DEO spots opened up, however if I were to have used reddit as a source of info, I would've thought pilot was still closed and would've never been writing this today.

October 2025 - Application Submitted Trade - ACSO (Pilot was closed)
November 2025 - How to be a successful applicant, SEAF, Gambit, Medical Questionnaire.
December 2025 - Invited to take CFAST in Feb/March 2026
March 2026 - Passed CFAST for all 3 Aircrew Trades (Pilot, ACSO, AEC)
April 2026- Informed that DEO Pilot opened up with 40 spots. Switched trade to Pilot.
June 10 2026 - Medical part I & II (at my recruiting centre), Interview (Online)
July 20 2026 Given dates for Aircrew Medical
August 12 2026- Aircrew Medical @ CFEME Toronto
August 28 2026 - Medically CLEARED, onto "Security & Background Check Stage"
September 02 2026 - Passed Security, onto "Selection"
September 16 2026 - Letter of Offer Received, Letter of Offer Signed
Enrolment, Jan 2026
BMOQ Jan 25, 2027

FYI - I have ZERO flying experience

Wrong profession selected

Hello all. I submitted my application today. My plan was to submit an application for pilot under ROTP. However, I probably made a mistake somewhere around the application process and I ended up selecting 3 priority occupations based on the choices I was provided. After submitting the application I tried calling and emailing my local recruitment centre but there is no response. What can I under such circumstances. Thanks!

BMOQ Mod 1 Weekend Option for Air Reserve Candidates (GTA / Nearby Units)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking into Air Reserve officer positions in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and nearby reserve units, but I'm getting conflicting information online regarding basic qualification training schedules.

Is there a weekend-only option available for BMOQ Mod 1 for Air Reserve members?

I understand that BMOQ Mod 2 is typically a full-time commitment, but I wanted to clarify how Mod 1 is structured for part-time/weekend reservists in the area.

Any insights or recent experiences from current members or recruiters would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Aircrew Selection – Preparation Advice for CAF Pilot Applicants

Hey everyone! I’m currently applying for Pilot in the CAF Regular Force, and I believe Aircrew Selection is the next step in the process for me. For those who have already gone through it, what would you recommend practicing or working on beforehand, and is there anything you wish you had known before going? I’m not looking for specific test questions, just general advice on how to prepare and what to expect. Thanks!
