I’ve just received my RG Rotate and tested it with a few DACs I have.
If you’re listening via Spotify, the JCALLY JM12 works directly within Android, meaning it can be used across most apps. However, if you’re using USB Audio Player PRO, you can play your own music files with virtually any DAC, as the app bypasses Android’s audio system and accesses the DAC directly.

Hi, i made a non-intrusive overlay with controls (except L and R, accesible with the screen closed). Feels good for quick and no very demanding control games, or for example, Wario Ware Twisted with gyro controls
I did the OTA upgrade on my RG Rotate, and now it only boots to the "Anbernic" logo. I have tried with and without my SD card, I tested my SD card in a PC and it's fine. I have fully charged it, and tried resetting it a few times by holding Power and Vol - but it just goes back to the same logo. How can I get this thing working again please? I have googled for hours, but no luck.
I received the device two days ago and since I am addicted to customization I started putting a cool front end, and scraping the games.
But I still want to open up and change some things on the device.
I found it very interesting what I saw here in the sub, some users put Hold MagSafe on the back.
If they have suggestions, they can talk, as long as it does not reduce portability.
My rotate is arriving in a couple days!!! What are some of the front-ends and how does it work when closed? Am I able to still play? I would like to be able to shiny hunt without it being open?
Also any apps you suggest for quality of life?
Perfect fit with a little extra space. These are always at CVS, walgreens, Duane reade, etc. Ive had this sitting in my junk drawer for over a decade, you may also already have one lol. I don't remember if it comes with the foam cushion on both sides but it's necessary for a tight fit.
Finally uploaded a video detailing how to resolve the RG Rotate Crashes and sharing workarounds to resolve the issue (with no battery pull required!). Feel free to watch it and comment, and it applies to both the silver and black versions of the RG Rotate.

it’s no secret i love my rotate like everyone else (hopefully). my goal in purchasing this was to have a device that can play retro games and use as a dedicated music player so i can try to get away from spotify and be more intentional and all that. for the most part it’s been great!
however…i’ve been trying so hard to find the right usb c dongle for my rotate, but haven’t had much luck.
every dongle i’ve tried seems to have a different problem. google’s dongle gets disconnected after i pause my music, apple’s dongle has a similar issue but i have to wake up the screen after pressing play on my media remote for it to resume, jcally jm6 pro just straight up doesn’t work at all and gives me a low buzzing sound for a second or two but i can see the song playing just no audio. i have yet to test another dongle i just bought, that being the linsoul kiwi ears ad1…
for more context, i’ve tried fiddling with multiple settings including developer options, my device is entirely up-to-date on both the android and the OTA firmware side and i’m using musicolet as my music player of choice (i’ve fiddled with these settings too).
i’m just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues..? is there a dongle that actually works the way it’s supposed to? what do you guys use or found what works? the way i see it, it almost feels like a weird sleep behavior within the rotate that is either bugged or can’t be changed…maybe a firmware update will fix it down the road? i’m not entirely sure

EDIT: my linsoul kiwi ears ad1 dongle arrived and this was the answer! if ANYONE has the same issues finding the right dongle, get this one first. the only “issue” i have with it is whenever i resume music using my media remote, it doesn’t play until i hit the volume up or down on my in-line media remote, but honestly i’ll take it. that’s a better issue for me to have than the other ones presented. it’s loud, it’s punchy, it has a nice silver color/finish on it that suits my metallic rg rotate very well. i’m quite pleased! i hope this thread helps anyone who had the same issues as me! 🤙🏻
I made peace with the no audio jack but the USB C port being so shit on this thing is really annoying.
None of the splitters I have to charge and use earphones at the same time are working, has anyone found one that does?
Link to the specific magnetic adapter I used in the description. Also I recommend installing Rotate Control on the google play store to get the screen to rotate to the correct orientation when placed on the cradle

i hate to admit it but the form factor of the RG Rotate drew me to get one recently. I don't mind the middling internals as I have other devices that can play more recent and graphics intensive games.
my only gripe is the size. i feel my hands cramping in any stance. maybe if it were 0.5 or an inch bigger with more rounded corners, i would enjoy longer play sessions with this cutie patootie of a gadget.
I little while back I posted a link to a 3D printable case for the RG Rotate, which I designed in Tinkercad.
I have made some updates to it, so I figured I would post to let folks know.
I gave the case a little extra space internally around the lanyard connection point, because the lanyard loop was getting caught when closing the previous version.
I also made the front clasp look a little nicer and added some guides to stop it from wiggling side to side when closed.

It's quite slim and does not increase the size of the device all that much. I do recommend adding a little bit of padding inside the lid to stop the Rotate moving up and down. The extra space was deliberate, so that the screen is better protected.

It uses 1.75mm filament as pins for the hinges, so no extra hardware is required. Although you may need to drill out the hinge holes a little bit depending on how accurately your printer prints it. Alternatively it should be easy to edit in Tinkercad, so you could just run a slightly wider cylinder through the holes to widen them a bit before printing.

I also made a wallpaper so it would look more like when it transitions into the dark hour in the remake. However, the rotates always blurs it. Does anyone know a workaround for that?
