God Heart battle system Devlog!

Here's an update of my Suikoden-Breath of Fire inspired battle system!

The sprites are taking me some time to finish drawing (more procrastinating on my part honestly)

- UI still needs some polishing
- Would probably update the skill animations in the future so theyre not stock
- Have only drawn 2 different enemies so far

I am making an rpg set on modern day life. Instead of fast travel I created a system based on public transportation. What do you think about the design?

Need help with setting up a trader npc

So, long story short: in my game, everytime you defeat a major boss, you get their essence (which is considered a key item). A certain npc will be able to infuse weapons with said npc, kinda like the giant in anor londo from dark souls 1 does.

More context for those unaware, this giant essentially fuses simple weapons with boss souls, creating unique weapons and i kinda want to do that too in my game. Do i have to do conditional branches that check every time for every "essence" and weapon required to do the fusion or is there a way to create a menu which a plugin for example?

Upgraded my 3d fight arena render to DLL, tho still needs lots of expermenting and tinkering

Transfered arena and sprites rendering to DLL to boost performance, resolution and ability to add textuees to 3d projects, tho it creates bug whilw recording (since dll "calculates and streams" image into rpgmaker from ruby script), making it jitter and rapidly flash.

Trying to fix

If you have some spare time, I’d really appreciate it if you could try my small game project and share your thoughts on the story, performance, and visuals. Your feedback would be very valuable for its development, thank you.

You can find the download link and game information below.

also If you encounter any lag or crashes, please keep in mind that I’m still working on optimizing the game.

Every time I try to work on a game, I end up just staring at the database for an hour and not getting anything done. Anyone else? Ways to fight it?

Title says it all, but to give some background: I've been fiddling with MV since high school, 2017, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of everything I can do within the program minus javascript(which I've slowly begun using lines of JS within my projects) but lately, it feels like I've done virtually nothing with any of my ideas!

I get a game concept in mind, maybe design a basic mechanic or two, and just can't seem to get myself on track towards actually doing anything with it. I often find myself completely lost on what course of actions to take-- skills? Gear? Enemies? I'm not a very story-focused dev, a lot of my games are made with mechanics first and story second. I'm looking for advice and stories from anyone else who's found themselves stuck like this.

Is there a measurement to pixel converter?

As the title says, is there an irl measurement converter or chart to pixel converter? I’m a pencil paper artist so I’d like to try and make a game with hand drawn assets and scan them in, even if it’s only a few on top of default assets. Is there a way to do this or do I have to math it out myself or draw in an art program with certain settings?

When can we expect more info about the New Rpg Maker Project?

I am extremly exited for the new project.I was always hoping for a *next level* type of modern rpg maker and i thought rpg unite is gonna be the one lol.but i only hear how bad and disapointing it is lol. so thats why i am hoping its gonna be a godot version of rpg maker so we get the best out of both worlds. Is there any rpg celebration soon or can we expect infos soon? or even a release this year? i really hope its a huge upgrade and not just a slightly better MZ Version

Help with the palette.

Hey guys, I recently started with the Chip Set for my RPG Maker 2003 game, but l want to ask you something. The indetex of Aseprite only has these colors, and I’m aware of the RPG Maker 2003 limitations, but there isn’t a way to get more of them?

Weather has a chance to change throughout the day

Still working out some bugs but, the current weather system in place in my game has a chance to change midway through the day. Basically there is a double roll for weather: one that's determines the morning weather, and then a second for the weather midway through the day. The second roll is locked to a certain range higher or lower than the original weather roll, so the weather shouldn't change *too* drastically (like if it's sunny, it isn't going to start storming).

And of course, the crops respond to the weather change. So check the weather or talk to NPCs before going through the trouble of watering all your crops first thing in the morning.

My 1bit puzzle adventure trailer!

Hi guys! My puzzle adventure RPG Maker game just released its demo on Steam a few weeks ago and I wanted to show it here in case any of you are interested in checking it out! :)

Hopefully the development will continue smoothly as it's been up until now.

Battles without the protagonist in them

I am looking to see if there is a way to not have the protag in the battles. rather have different characters fight for the player as if her is a comander and not a participant.
