So I recently discovered parallax mapping and it’s amazing! I feel like I can finally make the game the way I envisioned it. Only draw back is the time. My demo has 3 larger maps and a handful of smaller ones…maybe 10-12 overall….and this still took me about 100 hours to rebuild the maps.
I personally love them, I think they are cool, but to the people who do this, how do you optimize? I made a master asset sheet so anytime I touch, rip, or build an asset it goes into that, which paid time dividends on the last maps as I could reuse stuff. I feel like I’m not super efficient at it and I have another 45 maps past the demo to rebuild…then probably another 50-75 to finish the game. I enjoy building them, but thinking I still have ~1k hours in map building alone is a bit insane haha. Let me know any tips or tricks parallax mappers have that can help, thanks!
To the people who don’t parallax map, what do you think of it? I know the style won’t be for everyone, but let me know.

Hi. I'm trying to find a way to play Icesaga: Memories of Melodia, but I can't find any way to access it due to the fact that every time I search for it, Google just gives me the devtools to RPG maker WITH. I thought there'd be something like RPG Maker MV Player for the switch, for this.

I have been working on a game for one year all by myself and I almost have zero progress other than story because writing is the only thing I have experience at, due to theatre. Im also getting better at pixelart and music recently but I believe atp this game will take years to finish. So Im looking for people would like to work with me. İts a short story about a main character that plays video games every episode from the console his best friend left to him before dying. its a psychological game. I’d also like to mention to earn your trust, that I’ve spoken with many independent music groups and have pretty much sorted out the game’s music. Since I used to work as a voice actor, I have many friends who are voice actors, and I have experience in this field myself too. I’m deliberately avoiding giving a detailed explanation of the game. Is there a way to prevent the game from pausing when opening the start menu, and every related menu(items, equip, etc...)
I'm making a horror game where every moment counts, and giving the player the ability to pause the game at any moment goes against the whole point imo.
Also not necessary but I'd prefer if it didn't require any plugins.
These maps are not meant for an rpg but more for a narrative horror with heavy religious themes. What do you guys think about it? Are these maps good enough to think about realising the project?

After my last post on the subject about HP and MP being packed too tightly at the bottom of the UI, I went ahead and increased the height of the actor status window by 20 pixels and separated them HP and MP into two separate rows. I don't think there was another fix that made sense practically, tbh. Curious what you all think about the change.
It might be a teeny bit cliff-heavy but somehow I JUST learned layers and how to use cliffs properly (if your wondering about the hole in the 2 cliffs on top and the shadow, theres meant to be a bridge event thing)
