5th day of rotary ownership

I built these headlights years ago and finally installed some new lenses I bought off ebay. Honestly the quality is on point, they fit and look identical to OE. Also installed some odula eyelids and a rotarytronics lighting module which allows me to run the high beam projectors as DRL's (reduced brightness) and a tap to signal lane change function.

Picked up this eBay carbon duckbill spoiler - fits well (way better than I anticipated) but the adhesive that comes with it is pretty crappy so I used 1/2” 3M VHB tape and some adhesion promoter.

Just installed a remote button to open the trunk.

Lil trip in the RX-8 this morning. Still breaking in the new clutch so I am not redlining her yet, it’s very hard to drive a rotary and not redline it.  Still a couple hundred more miles to go if I stick to the 500 mile break-in recommendation. I’m on leave all week next week, so I plan on taking her for a stretch to finish that break-in. S1 2007 Phantom Blue Mica, 6-speed.

Hello all

So Im a new rx8 owner. Found this baby with just 50,000km and in great shape so i had to pull the trigger. As a mazda fan owning 4 mazdaspeeds, this makes for a nice addition! Specially since Ive always wanted a rotor build in my life.

Now two weeks later i was involved in an accident that requires me to change some parts including control arms & wheel hub assembly, shock absorbers and some more.

Unfortunately i cant seem to be able to source the parts locally so I need to order them online. Im in europe, do you guys have any suggestions for websites i can order rx8 parts from in europe ? If not in usa maybe ?

After dealing with a foul stench for a while me and my dad decided to pull the cat after the car started running poorly. Now i don’t know what a good cat looks like but i don’t think it’s this.

Right now we are “arguing” about what to do with it. I say we bang out the rest of the debris and basically drive it cat-less and call it a day. My dad’s pov is that it’ll be too loud, might run poorly anyways, might stink even worse, and throw a code. He just wants to buy a new cat, but i think it’s a waste of money cause it might just happen again.

Anyone care to weigh in on what they might do? taking into consideration he is a 50yo man that already has slight comfort issues with the car lol

It’s true

I dreamed of driving an RX-8 for years and years and years! From X-men 2, Daywatch, to Need For Speed, they were just everywhere and I was hooked. I found this sexy baby (‘09 all stock) a little over a year and a half ago and she’s been my daily driver ever since. I used to look up anything and everything about these cars as a teenager just so I could consume any knowledge of this (in my opinion) joyful masterpiece. I’ve learned so much more now that I’ve gotten my own. I’ve done everything myself (I’m no mechanic) fixes and maintenance. She still runs like a fucking champ. Now as a 32 year old rolling my trash can back up to my house I can’t help but smile and be filled with joy that she’s mine. I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy another car the way I enjoy being an RX-8 owner. To my fellow 8 lovers enjoy your rides and keep loving ‘em the dude abides! 🤙🤙
