Been searching over the last year for an RX8 in good condition. Found this a couple weeks ago with 36,000 miles. I saw my first RX8 when I was 15 and have had an underlying longing for one since.
So far i've washed and waxed it and moved some of my cd collection over to the glove box. I need to refresh the front lights as they've faded a little and clean up some of the paint work.

After buying my rx8 I got a new water pump, new coolant, and new radiator hoses. However I live in Arizona and now that it’s in the high 90’s and 100’s I’ve noticed my coolant temp is sitting higher around 195°F with my AC turned completely off. I’m planning on getting the Mishimoto racing thermostat(that opens at 170°) but I’m not sure how else to reduce my temps. I know up to around 215° won’t hurt the car but I’d like to keep it as low as possible for longevity
Looking to pick up an rx8 to go drifting. Yeah, I know there are better/more reliable options out there but dorito engines are dope.
For those who drift your cars, what have you done to keep it alive and happy? Ive not owned a rotary yet but I am very mechanically inclined and have built numerous cars for motorsport so I'm not totally clueless either. Thanks in advance!
These cars are the best cars that no one will ever buy. This is my 3rd one, and my last one.

Hi all, found this connector on the engine that looks like it's got a bypass or shorting device put on it. Anyone seen this before and know what it's for? The connector runs over the top of the engine and has blue and black wires, hard to see where it goes but looks like it goes on behind the alternator. Any suggestions are appreciated 👍
I recently came across a good looking RX8 2004 for 3k near where I live in the north of The Netherlands and was wondering how it is owning a rotary engine in The Netherlands?
How much does maintenance cost? Is it difficult to find parts, or people to work on it?
I would like to learn more about working on my own car but don't have alle the space in the word to do so, which means I won't be able to do everything myself.
Also I assume with our current gas prices it has become less fun to drive around?
FYI: Not a tuner, just an RX-8 enjoyer trying to pass emissions...
The air pump on my R3 (N3R1-13-81X) failed and I can not find a single replacement online. Part is discontinued and eBay has nothing. There's a lot of dealer websites that pop-up on a google search but whenever I order from them I just get 'order cancelled' emails due to no stock. I would prefer to actually get a working pump vs just blocking the code (I don't know if that would even work, as the tester might smell the fumes). What do you R3 owners do when your pump dies?
Hi everyone, I am still fairly new to my rx-8 and I wanted some help and advice, my car started making this loud sound when I started it the other day as heard in the video, what could it be? Also what mods would yall recommend to improve my reliability and experience with the car? Thanks in advance fellas :D
Edit: the sound gets quieter as the car gets warmer till its basically gone.
im financially in a bad place so, im not sure if its worth fixing it up to sell it, or sell it as it is.

i need help. after months of looking for my rx8 that’s been stolen, it’s been brought back to me. i’m so ever grateful but i’ve grieved the loss of the car. the car needs work now. the clutch doesn’t work, the battery is missing, and so is the coolant.
i’m just a girl who was learning about cars and rotaries. at the time i was dating someone who could help me and so could his friends, but i’ve been to another town by myself so i have no one to help now.
other than those new problems the car was in good nic mechanically. i’m thinking of selling it just to move on with my life but i don’t know how much it would be worth.

its a 2008 series 2 gt fe, and 126,xxx K’s
no problems as i’m aware the compression was great and it’s been looked after very well.

Hi everyone, looking for some help with a strong fuel smell in the cabin. I bought my second RX8 a couple weeks ago, after owning one a few years back I’ve always missed it. This one however stinks of fuel really badly both inside and outside the car. Any ideas what this could be? I also have the feeling the fuel consumption is higher than it should be but I couldn’t say for certain.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance
Is there a way to convert my 06 RX8 to regular style key? Id like to get away from with this thin plastic “fob” that left me stranded hours away from home and cost me around 1,000 USD to get replaced.
Or is there a way to at least allow the car to let me lock the doors with the key fob still in the car? I have both versatune and FORSCAN, just haven’t seen that option in either of the menus.
I knew that a RX8 was going to be a problematic car to own, but I didn’t think that the keyfob was going to be the problem.

Doesn’t matter if it’s low compression, good compression, 4 port or 6 port
If you know some Prices or recently bought on please comment your country/region. The engine type, the compression condition and the price
For example here in germany a used low compression 6 Port engine normaly goes for 500-600 Euros
I’m curious how prices compare around the world.
