Portfolio Update: Over 65k and took some gains
Taco’s portfolio is back over 65k now thanks to the strong performance in Oscar Health. Even with Ethereum performing as badly as it has, my port’s still up over 20% this past month which is impressive.
I did take some gains off the table here and sold 2 of my January 2027 $18C on Oscar for a 115% gain. I’ve learned my lesson a time or two with Oscar trading between the $12-$22 range and even with a strong earnings report behind them, and seemingly breaking out into their best days ahead, — given how poorly ETH has performed I took the gains here. I’m riding the last one here to Valhalla though which you can see in the last screenshot.
I also traded out of one other position this week and that was WhiteFiber WYFI. I sold 2 $17.5C against them expiring last Friday and needless to say I got burnt on those. It’s ok though as I am losing conviction in the managements ability to be transparent and deliver to shareholders regardless of the current market hype cycle we’re in around the AI build out. I was done with WYFI and still made out profitable. I still have my position in BTBT buts its also on notice in my portfolio given managements poor decision history here.
Often when I start to lose conviction in a play I will sell calls against it and collect the premium until I get called away. This time it was WYFI’s turn.
What do you think of Taco’s latest moves?
A single options trade generated a return of 478% in less than four days.
When people first see options returns, many think it’s like “gambling.” But only those who’ve been at it for a while know that the most important aspect of options trading has never been getting rich quick it’s all about timing. This ESPR call trade, which went from $0.19 to $1.10, may appear to be a 478% gain on the surface, but at its core, it’s about direction + timing + position sizing. Many people chase the market the moment it rises and hold on when they’re losing. But in trading, the greatest danger is often not missing out on a profit, but losing emotional control. I’m increasingly convinced that those who can trade consistently over the long term are the ones who have learned to stay “calm.” They wait for opportunities, manage their positions, accept stop-losses, and know when to exit the market. The market offers opportunities every day, but you only have one account. You might make money through luck in the short term, but in the long run, it comes down to knowledge and execution.
22F - All By Myself
Hey Reddit!
I'm coming up on 50K... I have been saving for two years. I work full time and am in college as well. Financially I support myself and pay my own bills, plus have no debt. It's been a hell of a ride. Feel free to AMA.
Later, 100KSprinter
21M - All by myself too!
Still in college and basically made this starting from zero. I remember first starting college and I was down to my last 500-1000 bucks.
Couldnt work during the semester due to heavy engineering courses but worked every break I got (Winter, Spring break, Summer, etc). Had internships that paid pretty well.
Also my parents were VERY transparent about not paying for my college. Thankfully I was blessed with a full ride merit scholarship at a pretty prestigious university. Lowkey probably wouldn’t of gone to college if it wasn’t for that scholarship. Looking back, its been such a stressful and rewarding journey. Every struggle and every success I had, definitely been one hell of a ride lol. AMA!
Help plz 29M
I have 4500 saved up no 401k or stocks.
Where should I start? I’m a PCA that makes 17.00 a hour 70 hour weeks.
Rent 1300
Child support 600.00
26M 30k Milestone
Hi everyone, just wanted to share a milestone. (I had to add my SoFi and C1 savings manually as fidelity wouldn’t let me)
I started investing in May 2025 with a Fidelity Roth IRA and a SoFi brokerage, and it’s honestly become pretty addicting. Any extra money from my paycheck, I’ve been adding on top of what I already planned to invest.
Staying consistent can be hard, but like Charlie Munger said: “The first 100k is a bitch.” I’m definitely feeling that.
Every time I invest, I wonder if it’s all going to be worth it later or if I should enjoy a little more of my money now. I’m trying to find that balance between enjoying my 20s and building a more comfortable future. And then I start thinking about when I should even start saving for a house.
Anyway, just some random thoughts. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
almost there!
23F, and 10.5 months into working full-time! I put
myself through college with minimal loans (~$5k) and paid off my loans in the first 2 months of working. No car, no dependents, living in VHCOL, savings rate of ~50% post tax.
Trying to give myself more credit for my hard work! Goal is to reach 80k by EOY!
Finally did it 💚🖤💚
After two months I did it. I can honestly admit i don’t believe this could have worked if this market wasn’t as volatile as it’s been this year but I’m grateful it has been. With that being said I officially crossed over 100k 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
27M Roth IRA Review
My Roth IRA is 72% Oscar Health. What do you think?
Also that’s not 20% cash they are $18C Jan 2026 on Oscar Health. 😆
Should I take some gains off the table now that I’m beating the index year over year?
I just graduated! Nest stop is the 100k

Who ever would’ve thought that two days after crossing the 50k mark I would be this close to crossing the 100k mark. Let’s see if I can cross over this week. Thanks amd , qqq weeklys micron technology, gld. Spy weekly’s. Once I cross if yall would like I’ll post every trade I made along this journey. Wish me luck.
Getting close!
I’m really proud of this because it’s money I’ve been able to save and invest as a single mom 😊
Race to 50k!
I’ve been working ever Sense I’ve been 14 years old full time. I work 10-12 hours a day and now I’m finally starting to show for it. I have an extremely aggressive portfolio but we will see what happens with crypto in the next few years. I’m still down some but hopefully BTC will take off soon and then I’ll be up!
Working My Way Up!
Up until last summer I've been hitting student loans hard, and now that they're paid off (80k worth), my only remaining debt is a car (0% apr) and a mortgage.
Putting all remaining cash each month into investments, these are my stocks which is all I'm sharing since retirement fund is 30 years away from being relevant and crypto has been wildly unsuccessful for me and I'm not putting more into it but I'm holding anyway.
Goal is to put 6k per month into stocks. Recently I've been dumping into VOO and loading on META since it's being beaten down pretty hard.
I’ve already reached 40K in four months
I want to thank all my friends who have helped me along the way. Starting as a complete beginner who didn’t even know how to buy stocks, I’ve been able to achieve what I have today
Halfway there at 20 years old
Finally got to 20k total. I have around 11.5k across robinhood portfolios, then around 8.5k in my savings/checking account. I’m 20 years old right now and have no debt and want to know how to get to 50k sooner. I want to reach 50k by 21 and don’t really know how. Does anyone have any ideas? I’ve never had a job before so that’s my first thing I’m gonna do but other than that I’m a bit lost. Let me Know!
How do I get to $50k “fast?”
21 F, started my investment journey in late 2024. All the money came from my part time job ($18.50/hr) that I still work during the weekends with the exception that $2k of it was given by my mom which I’m grateful for! I usually put $30 a week for my brokerage and $70 a week for my Roth, but put more during the summer. I want to learn how to do options but I’m still confused by how it works. Is really the only way for my investments to increase is to steadily add money?
I feel like I’m very behind even though I’m technically not. It’s just hard not to compare yourself on this subreddit!
Btw I stopped adding money to my investments for the past 3 months because I’m trying to save up money for my study abroad.
