This is my 3rd Ram and by far my favorite. Its a 25 Big Horn long bed crew cab with a Smart Cap, Decked system, lifted with Fox Shocks, clear PPF on front end and hood. The black wrap is also PPF. It rides so smooth and super quiet.
A couple weeks ago I financed a 2010 Ram 5.7l
I put 3k down on a truck that cost 8k. Truck came with 198.5k on dash... Not a super big deal I know what comes with old trucks and high mileage but the truck overall was mechanically sound for the most part. Point A to point B and can carry furniture plus get me through the winters.. not really big on all the bells and whistles honestly just needed a truck for truck things. Now the truck like I said sounds good but I'm wondering if what we have here is a disaster waiting to happen. Of course there is a mild manifold tick which honestly is mild not entirely bent on it, I mean wouldn't mind getting it fixed but ya know whatever. But after I got the truck I got a little slack about if the seller put a band aid on the lifter/cams possibility of bigger problems behind the scenes. According to the "know it all" buddy they could possibly have put thick oil or some sort of fluid in it to make it shut up.. I try to listen closely to the motor and honestly behind all the other noises it's making I can't distinguish yes or no... So that leaves me with a couple questions; say the cams/lifters are bad how could I tell now? I have no lights on the dash surprisingly to tell me otherwise. And if that is the case what is a responsible but not low-ball offer to take it the buddy's garage or the friend of a buddy's garage to get doctored up? Any advise on good dependable parts within reason of a budget?
I need help finding new hardware for this (pic 1). It is the last part I need to reinstall after a full engine rebuild. The number on the part has rusted off entirely. It braces a gap between the front diff housing and the bell housing, near the starter motor (area in pic 2). On the 3-hole side, it attaches to the top of the front diff housing in combination with the driver's side engine mount bracket (pic 3). The 2-hole side attaches to the side of the transmission bell housing (pic 4). This eBay listing shows the exact same part, but searching the part number returns nothing useful. This Mopar Store page, though the diagram doesn't look identical, describes it as "Engine Mount Bracket, Rear Left Side, Pinion Nose Bracket to Transmission, Part No. 5147135AC". From the same diagram, a bolt and washer with part number 6102400AA is described as fitting both sides of my bracket. I could be remembering wrong, but when trying different bolts, it seemed one side was a different thread pattern. Can any parts guys confirm if this is the correct hardware? And if it's not, could you kindly point me to the right stuff?
EDIT: Bolt sizes have been confirmed as 3x M12x1.75x45 (Part No. 06509449AA) and 2x M10x1.5x30 (Part No. 06102400AA)

Well, i didnt want to think about the inevitable, the ol' 03 ram 1500 has reached the end if it's days. I grew up with this truck, theres photos of me as a baby in it, and i never wanted to think it would have to go, but it was with me from my childhood to my adulthood, and it's time to say goodbye. in the next couple days, 23 years of service and memories and 2 owners will be reduced to a cube in a landfill.
EDIT: Before commenting asking why we are getting rid of it, i put answers in the comments. this angle doesnt show how rusted through it is and doesnt show the internal issues you can only take my word for. it has a bad alternator, bad battery, bad fuel pump, brakes are shot, and hell, could have more wrong.
Posted before 2014 single cab express. Gone out of the US 7 months a year. Been actively trying to get this part for 3 years, 2 private shops 1 dealership. Just got back, here for a couple of months. Dash is a Christmas tree, speedometer went out before I left last year. Going to try to figure this out. Money doesn't matter, just want it fixed. Internet says different option. Called a legit shop the dealership recommended but they said the code I have they can't reflash
This is my new(to me) 2022 Ram 1500 Limited in Patriot Blue. I’m super grateful and excited to own and enjoy this beauty. I’m open to all suggestions regarding maintenance, long-term ownership, performance mods, and any issues to look out for.
Final…. for now. BDS 5” with Fox 2.5s, Method 305 20x9 20”, 37” Toyo, Borla S type, Amp xl. Nacho on order. Next upgrade Wilwoods.
