Abs module???

Posted before 2014 single cab express. Gone out of the US 7 months a year. Been actively trying to get this part for 3 years, 2 private shops 1 dealership. Just got back, here for a couple of months. Dash is a Christmas tree, speedometer went out before I left last year. Going to try to figure this out. Money doesn't matter, just want it fixed. Internet says different option. Called a legit shop the dealership recommended but they said the code I have they can't reflash

2014 abs module

Long story short, I only drive my ram about 3 months out of the year( work outside the US). About 3 years ago, my abs warning came on, traction control light, parking brake light. Truck was running fine, just no cruise control or working abs. Put some new tires on, had them check codes and they told me that my abs module was likely bad. Was leaving the country so was going to do it when I got back in 9 months.

Came back, apparently this part is on back order so didn't bother, drove the truck for 2 months, was gone 10 months.

Came back this year and my speedometer went out so said, time to really get this fixed once and for all. Took it to a reputable private shop, told him what was going on, he checked the wheel speed sensors first, came to the conclusion about the ecu module. Said he searched the entire country for the part and it's unavailable with no date it will be available!!

Went to a ram dealership and the parts department told me the same thing. Did some research and found out some places can rebuild/refresh them but they couldn't do it with my specific code. Not sure what to do at this point, apparently the module has to be flashed for your individual truck???? I get back in the Country in October and would like to start having a gameplan to get this problem fixed. Anybody else in this situation??? Apparently it has become a huge issue for jeep/dodge

Yachts

I just found this place. Am a chef/ fishing guide. There seems to be a lot of people on here taking jobs that sound miserable. Been doing seasonal/freelance work for the last 20 years. Alaska, ski resorts, yachts, restaurants, private chef, fishing guide. Try high-end fishing lodges in Alaska, not going on coolworks. Write a cover letter and send your c/v directly to the lodge 4 months before the season begins. They need house staff, chefs, maintenance

If you want to make real money that's when yachts come in. Guys can get an entry level deckhand position pretty easy. Girls can get a job as a stewardess all day everyday. But if you are serious you need an STCW 95 coastguard certification. It's a 3 day class. You travel new places, live on the boat for free, food is free, toilitries are free, health insurance and 1 month paid vacation is normal, big boats do rotations of 2 months on 2 months off.

Something to think about, a lot of seasonal people travelers don't realize there is an entire industry that hires/ and fires temporary workers. Their are dayworkers and strait freelance workers that just take a job for a week, month, or a season.

The only draw back is it's a young attractive person's game. If you are young and fit, your odds are good of getting hired. Girls, have it worse because you rarely see any stewardess who can't fit into a small skirt and is unattractive. That's just they way it is in yachting. Still the only career where you have to attach a picture on your resume. On the flip side if you are a qualified captain, engineer, or trained chef, looks and age don't matter as much.

But my job is pretty awesome, Am in the Bahamas/Bermuda 7 months a year, 1 month back in Florida, take 3 months off to travel, 1 month in Florida, then Back to the Bahamas to repeat the process. Get to fish and scuba dive as much as I want and pay nothing. Boat is always moving to different islands so your never stuck in the same place

Just food for thought, this is one of the few careers that an 20 year old person with not much education can hop on a good charter yacht and make some serious money with no bills

Ram 1500 abs module???

ok, I have a 2014 Ram 1500 single cab. 65,000 miles, I work on a boat in the Caribbean so only actually drive the truck around 2 months a year when the Boat is in Florida. about 3 years ago the lights came on, abs, tc, check engine, cruise control doesn't work, needed some wheels and had them diagnose the problem. either new abs module or could be as simple as 3 fuses, or a bad wheel speed sensor.

did the last 2, so looks like I need a new module, OK, took it to an independent run local shop and explained my situation. 2 years ago, he said all them are on a back order with no set date. OK, can I get a refurbished junkyard one. He said he doesn't have the right computer and would have to get it done by a dealership. OK, got and work another 9 months, truck is parked, come back now the speedometer is out which apparently happens with the abs out.

Now, in the US for 1 month and am like I just need to pay the money and figure out this abs thing. Went to the dodge dealer and just went to parts to buy an abs module. They are on back order indefinitely but gave me a card of a local place that can rebuild and refresh them. called them, and they said they can only repair 1 certain type of error code which is not mine.

kind of at a loss for words at this point. The only reason I'm not super pissed is the truck hasn't had any other issue in the 11 years I've owned it. Granted I've only put 35k miles on it in 11 years but besides basic maintenance not one thing other than this has been mechanically wrong. always has fresh oil and a good battery. Engine is happy and there are not enough tech features like a new car to go wrong. Been on the ram forum, it's the internet so one guy says do this and it works, the next comment is that guys full of shit and it doesn't work. I'm in the Bahamas until October, come back to the Truck in Florida and hopefully figure this out once and for all. Thanks!!
