Finding trusted raw meat sources is harder than it should be
Hey folks,
Spent the last few months getting into raw dairy and raw meat. I had trouble figuring out trusted sources to get these foods in NYC.
I made this free directory farm-to-door.com so you can source your meat from local trusted farms 😄
I ate raw steak for the very first time and now I’m genuinely scared I’m going to wake up ill, in the morning.
I have been watching Goatis’ videos all night and finally mustered up the courage to go right into my fridge, and get out a raw steak from the supermarket. I took a few good bites, didn’t really like the taste to be honest but now I’m deathly scared I’m going to wake up with food poisoning tomorrow.
I’m going to be honest, I genuinely think all my ambition to try a raw meat diet has gone out the window after tonight. I’m so worried I’ve got food poisoning now. Any tips on how to stay calm please? I really need it right now.
UPDATE: Now that some time has passed and I’ve calmed down from being a soy boy, I can say that I woke up with no illness. I know it was my first time ever trying a piece of raw meat but, I really didn’t like the taste. I feel like if I’m ever going to try the raw meat diet (which I probably won’t but who knows), then I’m going to try what someone recommended in the comments, which was to make steak tartare.
That way, like the gentleman in the comments said, it’s more understandable to normies who don’t really get it. Aka my parents. But yeah, no illness thank God but I won’t be trying that again any time soon. Got to do a whole lot more research.
God bless the people who didn’t troll me and offered me words of comfort and reassurance. Thank you.
Guess what animal this liver and heart belong to
My Jack Russell Terrier caught it.
do you enjoy raw or cooked meat more?
do you actually enjoy eating raw meat more, or just eat it for the health benefits that it has over cooked meat? just wondering. did your taste preference change overtime, etc
I want to start getting into eating raw meat... i have a question about defrosting meat though.
So my diet has been a mix these lasts months, i have been eating oysters, raw liver, raw lambs heart, cooked beef, cooked steak, steak tartar etc etc etc. I found out i actually like to palette raw minced beef with honey and butter today. But i get my meat from the butchers and farm shop but i normally like to freeze some beef as it lasts me throughout the week.
My question is about defrosting, if i take some mince meat out the freezer and let it defrost, is it way sketch to eat raw as i heard if u do wanna eat raw its best to not freeze it at all and always keep chilled. Like something about the bacteria growing more or in fact losing nutrients and enzymes etc?
Thx :)
