“A goose!” (Said in Jim Carrey’s voice, like the blooper at the end of Liar Liar)
Pearl, a leucistic American robin who lived to the age of 18 years
I took this photo when she was 8 years old. She lived at The Raptor Trust in New Jersey, USA.
All red steam of a purple loosestrife
Randomly came across this all red-stemmed loosestrife in a ditch. It is Healthy and growing just like the normal ones around it. Is anyone knows why it’s red compared to the rest id love to know.
Shiny anole
I’ve never seen an anole this vibrantly red, maybe it isn’t a shiny, but to me it is🥹
Shiny sea urchin.
Found in the Florida keys. We released it as soon as we took the picture.
Albino? Gray Tree Frog
Every so often I’ll get a brood of Gray Tree Frogs (Hyla versicolor), but this year 1/4 of the tadpoles came out very light colored and/or golden. The first one has emerged as a frog!
To me, the 1/4 ratio sounds like both parents were heterozygous for the lighter colored morph, whether it be true albino or something else.
Standard color for comparison.
Cotton Candy Lobster
Caught by Maine lobsterman Mack Kelley and posted to Facebook. He reported it was thrown back as is required of all lobsters of this size which are too small to be caught.
Never seen a squirrel like this
Never seen a squirrel like this with a dark undercarriage. In the sunlight his tail was blond. In Illinois
This momma and her fawn live around me- is her baby Albino?
His nose/ear area is pink and his hooves (not shown here) are also extremely pale.
If not albino- is this a normal coat coloring?
I named him “Mellow” :3
Look what I spotted in my backyard! I wanna know what type of species this is
Pink grass hopper
Found this little guy in a clover field, usually they don't live long cuz they're bright pink, but, hey, pretty good colours for a clover field
Shiny… lunchable?
They made these things so much smaller than they used to be btw
Caught a Albino or Leucitic Roughtail Stingray?
I caught this roughtail stingray off of Long Island, NY two days ago. Took 4 hours to reel in, estimated weight was close to 300 pounds. It didn’t have red eyes, and appeared to be albino or leucitic. Looking to positively identify, thanks!
Piebald Grackle and Leucistic Grackle
Not my pictures, but I saw these on the Bird Identification Basics North America FB page and wanted to share! The first is a piebald grackle from Port Arthur, Texas and the second is a leucistic grackle from Bullitt County, KY.
🔥 This momma and her fawn live right by my apartment complex. Is her baby albino? Or does he just have his contrast settings set incorrectly?
He has a pink snoot and pink ears and what appears to be pale hooves (not shown)
Eyes seem to be normal though?
Regardless I felt really special to be able to see something like this. I named him “mellow” :)
Leucistic Roughtail Stingray
Caught an approximate 300 lb roughtail leucistic stingray off Long Island, NY. It was a 4 hour fight, safely released. I can’t find a single record catch of one, but I confirmed with a local marine biologist who studies rays this is the fist leucistic roughtail he has seen
