Recommendations on where to stay

Hey! My boyfriend and I are driving in to see Jon Bellion in June @ Red Rocks. We are driving from Kansas June 9th, so we will arrive sometime in the early evening. June 10th we have all day to do whatever, June 11th we'll have the first half of the day and then that night is the concert. We plan to leave the morning of the 12th. Looking for something relatively affordable (attempting to stay for less than $700 total). We'd love to explore and be outdoors the 10th. So somewhere closer to the venue and we can go other places during the day within an hour to hour and a half drive! Having a hard time figuring out the best spots to stay. Open to airbnb and hotels :)

Red Rocks Kevin Gates Fight

I was having a good time at the Kevin gates concert tonight at red rocks when all of a sudden I went to the bathroom to pee and 4 little girls jumped me in the bathroom. NUMEROUS WOMEN told police I did NOTHING but because I chose NOT to press charges and they gave me all of 10 minutes to decide whether or not to press charges, the cops pulled me out of the HCA first aid location and kicked my friend and and I out!!! Idk what to do, I work for HCA which is the company who had cleared me and gave me to the AWFUL officer who was not only rude but didn’t want to take a statement at all, I’m currently feeling what they did and am headed to the emergency room because the women jumped on me left my neck feeling so badly I feel sick. Im so disgusted at women here but also cops, are they just out to not work when something happens?? I’m so disgusted, what if it were your daughter!?!?!

Flying in - no blanket!?

Hi! Two of us coming for Flipturn on Thursday and really no space for blankets in luggage, but it’s gonna be 40-50F so any suggestions how to stay warm? Seats look hard/cold too. Can you buy or borrow cushions or blankets to sit on? Thx

Edit: we arrive the night before the show via Uber from airport. Sadly not enough time to scout thrift shops til after the weekend. We have a dinner meeting so really just the morning of the show free. Thanks for the good specific suggestions - never been up that way.

Seating question

I see that it’s allowed to bring stadium seats in but have never been before and wondering if it’s worth bringing them.

Needed: Handicap for Tedeschi Trucks Band

Hey Everyone,
I’m doing this for a friend that doesn’t have Reddit. He accidentally bought two handicap tickets for the concert coming up on July 31st. He just figured out that they are handicap. He is a single guy age 45. Are there any single handicap women interested in accompanying him?

Shoutout to the medics and first responders at Red Rocks

Not sure if y'all will see this post, but in case you lurk this sub - thank you for all that you. My friend needed help during a recent show, and you all were right there to provide the help and assistance that they needed, even tho they were being ornery about it all. I'm guessing that happens at a lot of shows. Thank you again.

Scared to go to Red Rocks alone

I’m taking first solo trip ever to Denver tomorrow (31F). Red Rocks was on my list for this year and one of my favorite bands are playing this Sunday. This was supposed to be with my boyfriend but I left him over a month ago and I decided to still go and do something nice for myself. I’m so nervous. It seems like you have to get there when the doors open to get a decent seat. I don’t care where my seat is, I just want to be able to sit somewhere. I’ve tried to put myself out there on Denver pages, the bands page, travel pages, ect to meet another solo traveler and everything is falling through. People tell me to reach out and then don’t answer me. I’m scared to rent a car and drive on my own. I’m scared to take a shuttle and be standing there alone from 5-11. I wouldn’t mind trickling in late before the main act but as I mentioned before it seems like you need to get there early. Can someone just ease my anxiety please? I seriously don’t know what to do but I cannot miss this opportunity. Thank you 🥺⛰️💛

Another seating chart Q (GA)

Seeing head and the heart in July and have always wanted to go to Red Rocks. I have General Admission for me and my kids. Given this seating chart structure, any tips for where to sit to get a good combination of view of the stage plus seeing the sites?

Also any tips on when to arrive to get this seat?

Re-Selling Impossible?

I have tickets to a show in early June I'm not able to make and it appears impossible for me to resell my tickets? They're sold through See Tickets and I don't have an actual ticket, just a receipt to pick up at Will Call. I see there are tickets available through the AXS app but I am not able to upload to the AXS app to re-sell. I'm a reasonably intelligent person but I am really going crazy not figuring out how to resell these. Any help?

Chance of cancellation for Collie Buddz show on Sunday?

Flying from California to this show on Sunday. I know shows are rarely cancelled, but with the chance of thunderstorms do you think it's not gonna happen?

What to bring for concert end of May

Read lots of posts, most mention:
- layers
- comfortable shoes
- rain coat
- ear plugs
- blanket
- chapstick

What about best drinking bottle? Inflatable seat cushions? How cold in end of May (especially when sun goes down)?

Appreciate any and all advice. Can’t wait!

How well does sound travel for classical music in the amphitheater?

I’m really interested in the Yo-yo Ma and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra show next month, but it looks like all the tickets are pretty expensive save for one or two higher up near the back of the venue. For a regular concert at RR I wouldn’t worry too much about the sound getting lost, but for a classical concert especially one focusing on a single soloist I’m a bit worried that seats in the back might be missing out. Does anyone know if the back seats are still worth getting for a classical concert?

How is this a thing?

If you were at the show Saturday, and sat in these seats...have you lost your mind? Chewing gum and just spitting it out is unhinged behavior normally. But in a place like Red Rocks? You should be banned. You spent good money to see what was likely one of your favorite bands, maybe traveled here because it is one, if not THE best place to see a show. And you treat this venue like a garbage bin? This is not the only spot. But the one I saw with MANY pieces of the same gum. So shame on all of you who do this. Do all the drugs and drink all the booze you want. Go crazy have the time of your life. But don't just drop chewed gum on the ground. Your parents should be slapped for not teaching you any better. Hope you had a blast. Don't come back until you can act like a civilized human being.

Going to a show and considering taking my 65yr old parents. Bad idea? Any tips?

Hello! Going to a show for the first time and considering taking my parents. For context, they are 65yo not not disabled in any way and remain an active life, however, definitely not thing to push them past their limits. Also, they are not fans of the band, we just like sharing moments together and this venue is beautiful. This is my first time going to a show so need some help. Couple questions:

  1. is it just right off the bat a bad idea?

  2. is there a possibility of us arriving early, enjoying the venue with the parents, and then them heading back to hotel before the show begins? Or do you need to have a ticket to have entry to entire Red rocks area ?

  3. if we do decide to go through with it , seats would be around row 25. Any tips on maybe where to get dropped off by the uber, or anything else to minimize physical exertion.

Thanks in advance!

Tove Lo’s new single proves the ESTRUS era belongs at Red Rocks

I’M YOUR GIRL RIGHT?" just dropped and the club production completely cleared. 😭🔥 This dark bassline was literally engineered to hit the monoliths in Colorado.

It makes zero sense that Denver is missing from the initial routing. I refuse to let the mountain region get skipped on this cycle.

Are we organizing a massive fan manifest to demand a Red Rocks date, or are we just letting her team leave the best venue in America empty?

☁️*⛰️(More info on the campaign is pinned on my profile for anyone ready to rall*y)

Secret to getting Upper North Parking??

Arrived at 5:10pm for 7pm doors for YungBlood - was forced to park in Lower North lot, was told they’re not letting anyone except employees up to the Upper North lot. As I’m parked here tailgating there is a steady stream of cars going to Upper North, can’t imagine that’s all employees.

I frequent Red Rocks and I’m 50/50 on being let up to Upper North, always here at least an hour to 2 hours before doors for the show.

What’s the secret?? Should I start carrying tip $$?

1st Timer with Questions - How Loud...

I know, that is horrible. Since I am "old" (50+), I have some questions. I am going to the Russle Dickerson concert tomorrow night. Just bought seat in the upper right section.

I suppose ever concert has different level of sound but how loud would you expect the music?

Is it ear ringing when going to bed loud or what? We are in row 44.

Do you have a choice in parking lots? We are coming off 470 from Littleton.

Thanks

Building Red Rocks Amphitheatre: The Civilian Conservation Corps

The story of how Red Rocks Amphitheater was built is an important piece of Colorado history and a big part of why it's now recognized as a National Historic Landmark. Around the time of the Great Depression, the City and County of Denver purchased the land around Red Rocks for roughly $50,000. When Franklin D. Roosevelt enacted The New Deal, the Civilian Conservation Corps was created and put to work throughout the country on various construction and infrastructure projects. One of those projects was building Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Just saw that Nick Zilla created this great art piece of Red Rocks and wanted to share!

I saw he posted this on insta and I really enjoyed the perspective he chose for this piece, you can really feel the vast space and atmosphere that Red Rocks is known for.

Also just for some context, Nick is the drummer for The Elovaters and they will be performing this Sunday at Red Rocks.

Question about seating

Hi! I just pulled up the map for the show tonight and saw this. I’ve never seen sections like this, and I spent a ridiculous amount for GA on the day the tickets came out. Now they have “center left” for less than what I paid.

Is this actually enforced? I’ve only been to shows where the first chunk of rows are reserved and the rest of the place is GA.

Thank you!
