The Jozef Dani trio Feat. Henrique Franco on drums

Pianist Jozef Dani is a world‑class Slovak musician, celebrated for virtuosic playing and original compositions. Dedicating himself to music from an early age, Jozef’s playing is deeply influenced by Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and the late-great Chick Corea. Jozef has toured extensively across Europe and has recorded with the likes of Eugen Vizvary, among many others.

Joining Jozef are Northern Irish bass stalwart John Hodge, and one of Belfast’s most outstanding drummers, Brazilian-born Henrique Franco.

Alberto Balsam by Aphex Twin interpreted by Collider at Scott's Jazz Club

Collider Live at Scott's Jazz club Belfast
Collider is the newest project from Dublin based guitarist Chris Guilfoyle. Collider explores the electronic music worlds of Drum and Bass, House, and IDM where the rich tones of electric guitar intertwine with ethereal synth sounds and heavy drum grooves drawing influence from electronic artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Autechre, and Squarepusher. All the musicians in the group are well known in the electronic music and jazz worlds with Darragh O’Kelly (OKO, Big Spoon) on synths, Steve Welsh (Portamentous) on synths and Shane O’Donovan (OKO, H-CI, Big Spoon) on drums. Their live shows promise a convergence of analog and digital, where theimprovisational spirit of jazz meets the innovative beats of electronic music.

What do you like about it? What can be improved?

I don’t know very many people that play the piano. I only took a few lessons many years ago and have been trying to teach myself music theory. I listen to piano music a lot, so a lot of my writing just comes from what seems to sound good

Looking for constructive criticism! Trying to write songs has been fun!

I INVENTED MUMBLE JAZZ

As a bassist who is untrained, I never knew how to be a lead voice - so I invented MUMBLE JAZZ Autotune jazz scatting. Autotune turns my voice into a horn, which when paired with my bass solos because some weird thing that simply no one else does. I lost my wife over mumble jazz but I still RELEASE NEW MUSIC EVERY WEEK.
