Is it still exceptionally rare that I had natural strawberry blonde in this scenario? READ BODY TEXT

When I was first born, I was told by my parents that I actually had natural strawberry blonde hair as a baby! I was shocked to hear that because I heard that less than 1% of the global population has or at least was born with natural strawberry blonde hair and I am wondering if I count as that population because I was born with natural strawberry blonde hair even though it darkened to brunette hair that I have to this day starting at the age of 2? Ik that it is common for babies who were born with light or lighter hair would end up having it darkened due to melanin but regardless of that, is it still very rare that I was born with strawberry blonde hair before it darkened? And ik that my hair is not physically rare anymore and i get that but i’m specifically talking about the time or experience that I had it as a baby before the age of 2 where melanin kicked in and darkened my hair to dark brown! Please let me know thx.

I've grown to realise my lack of melanin can be a positive, not a hindrance

Most of my life I've been frustrated that I burn no matter what, comparing myself to even my siblings who turn golden brown in the sun when I become red after 30 minutes. No amount of lotion helped.

I've come to realise that its not an affliction. You just have to adapt, and ultimately it forces me to be extra diligent with sun protection. I now wear sunglasses every day, spf on my face, a wide brim hat, and long sleeves in summer. And avoiding direct sun during the middle of the day!

It just becomes second nature and in the future I'll probably be less damaged than most people who frequently tan without problems. Lower risk of skin cancer etc because I have no choice but to cover up.

Can anyone relate?

Boyfriend said he couldn’t look me in the eyes because I would steal his soul… I didn’t know we could do that trick.

Need more numbing ?

I went to the dentist last week for a fill. I was given numbing and sat there for a while. The dentist came to check on me and asked me to tell her when my lover lip was numb. It never felt that way. She started working on my tooth but I could feel the drill a bit. Then I had to get a mother dose of numbing to finally get through the procedure. Any other redheads go through this? I know our gene is supposed to give us higher pain tolerance and a need for more anesthesia and numbing.

I think my hair color is whatever the perceiver says it is.

First two pictures were taken about two minutes apart, both in front of the window in two different rooms, with the artificial lights off, and white walls. Third was in artificial bathroom lighting with no window. fourth in front of window with artificial lights off, and last one in the garden center of a grocery store with natural sky lights.

I am either called blondie or redhead regularly, and occasionally even brown. The term strawberry blond has little meaning to most people, and they only hear the word blond which just confuses them more. Shoutout to the fellow fence sitters in here.

Red Hair since birth has changed shades over the last almost 37 years.

Over the years my hair has changed so many times from super copper ginger to super light copper. I add pigment to my hair now to maintain the copper as I get older. My husband is ok with me showing his face just a disclaimer lol. After 4 kids my hair has thinned, fallen out, faded and/or lost pigment. My oldest son is a full ginger but my second son has auburn hair. My third son has dirty blond and my youngest is a blonde/ dirty blond. Hair color is crazy. lol. I had to guess at a few ages for this post, I just forget these days lol sorry!

Utter disappointment

My hair has darkened so much over the years, it doesn't even lighten in the sun anymore. There is almost twenty years between these photos and both are my natural hair colour. This getting old thing is for the birds.
