r/Rematch

I bought the game two days ago, got 6,66 hours in it and it's been a great experience so far.

Sure, there were some unpleasant moments where some people walked out of the goal to make a 1vs5 or when I played with a duo which didn't pass me once in the entire game. But that's kind of something every multiplayer game has and also just a few amounts of players of the community (I hope).

I especially like three things.

- It's skill based with a very high skill ceiling.

Every player starts and ends with the same characters (with different skins) where all of them have the equal speed, techniques and movements.

Elements like goal keeping, dribbling, shooting, passing, positioning... are mechanics where players need to invest much time to master.

- How fluid every movement is.

You press a button to move and the character just moves. You have many different character animations which fluently adapt to the current situation. Especially the volleys and catching the ball as goal keeper.

- Team play has been great when executed properly!

Sometimes I've been filled with some more experienced mates which passed the ball one to another without any effort, preparing goals and playing like a well trained team. The potential for teamplay is very big and I'm excited to see the higher ranks play the game.

Also things which frustrated me.

- Roles.

I once read a comment where it was said that the player base isn't big enough and that everyone would queue as a striker and I understand that. My personal problem is that I have a naturally low response time and being filled as a goal keeper often results in my team losing a point. I'm always jumping into the right direction, but way too late to catch it. On the other hand I lack the precision to make goals or find the perfect spot to shoot on the goal. That's why I tend to stay in the middle watching over my strikers to defend or pass the balls when they're being cornered. I like to fall back when the enemies push and my passes to my strikers have sometimes decided between win and loss.

Not always being able to play in the middle is kind of frustrating. But when the Rematch devs don't want to add roles then I'll accept how it is.

My overall experience was as the title says a blast!

When the game keeps getting better and better with new content, then I will definitely play it for a while. Letting go of league of legends and replacing my "addiction" for a competitive and demanding game with Rematch for the future. The community has been mostly very kind too. Saying the "We're gonna do it" when I lost us a point and was saying "sorry" several times. Or when someone's doing a goal sending the "well done". I know enough games where people just say nothing and play the game instead of communicating even a little. So I'm appreciating that very much!
