Closet Ceiling Repair: What should I do to address the lathing specifically?

Working on repairing the ceiling in a walk in closet. The house is old (over 100 years) and the ceiling has plaster lathing that has broken. The attic is above this closet and when I went to look at the spot where picture 1 is, there’s nothing else broken out. I’m just not sure how to patch this well. Do I need to cut out the lathing? Any insight is appreciated.

Does this entail $3,000 repair ?

I am moving out my first apartment and I have already had a few arguments with the landlord about stuff prior to this incident. I have a cat, paid a pet deposit and apartment deposit. The cat did damage the walls by scratching it up pretty bad. The landlord is claiming the walls need to be redone completely and the scratches are down to the studs. I did anticipate having to pay for the damages but I don't think they're as bad as the look, considering that everything had very fresh paint when I moved in. I am looking for honest opinions on whether this is truly a $3,000 repair.

HVAC help

I have a 110v window unit AC that had a leak and caused the refrigeration to escape. The leak occurred because of me partially disassembling the unit to clean it. I usually do this every 2 or 3 years and have never had issues. Until this one, anyway. One hundred percent my fault. I own it. But, I’m now attempting to repair it. I purchased a manifold kit and a vacuum pump from harbor freight as well as all the things I will need to solder the copper line back as it should be, however, this has me with questions that I can’t answer alone.

  1. I have the area marked where the leak was but not the exact spot. It’s not overwhelming obvious to me where the leak is now. How do I find the EXACT spot causing the issue.
  2. is the manifold and vacuum pump connected correctly, I certainly hope that’s how the pump works anyway. I’m attempting to use the pump to pull a vacuum on the compressor lines (now or after I repair the break).
  3. is this the correct way to be attempting this? Will the pump pull a vacuum on the compressor lines and allow me to know if it will hold the vacuum pressure before I add the correct amount of R410A to gain use of the unit again?
If I am going about this incorrectly, please guide me on how it should be done correctly.

Samsung BD C5300 Bluray Disc Player

I have a Samsung BD-C5300 Blu-ray player. When I plug it in, the lights keep blinking continuously, but there is no image on the screen at all. The blinking never stops, and after a while the device shuts itself off automatically.

Does anyone know what the problem could be or how to fix it? I would really appreciate any help.

Super glue dissolving

A person tried to fix the crack on my WH-1000XM5 with super glue. The crack was small, but I don’t know how much glue they poured into it. How can I dissolve the glue without breaking the hinge, damaging the plastic or electrical parts, and restore the movement? Right now, it’s stuck facing sideways.
