How to fix electric fan with all buttons stuck down?
How to travel from Petra to wadi rum by public transport?
I can see the Jett bus schedule for 5pm which I find too late. Is this my only option?
What to combine with Dead Sea?
Hey everyone,
I’m planning a trip to the Dead Sea and looking for ideas on what nearby places are worth combining with it in the same itinerary.
Would love suggestions for:
* Nearby places worth visiting with the Dead Sea (half-day or day trips)
* Things that pair well geographically (nature, viewpoints, cultural sites, etc.)
* Any must-do stops people often overlook
Also, I’m looking for recommendations for a driver/guide in the area (Jordan or Israel side) who:
* is reliable and knows the region well
* is comfortable communicating in English
* ideally knows good photo spots or is good at taking travel photos
If you’ve had a good experience with a specific driver/guide, I’d really appreciate any contacts or tips.
Thanks a lot!
4 day Jordan itinerary (Dana, a Petra, Wadi Rum and Dead Sea)
Hi everyone,
I’m planning a 4-day trip to Jordan and would really appreciate honest feedback. I’m a solo female traveler, and this might be my first and only visit, so I’m trying to cover the most distinctively Jordanian places: Dana, Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea — plus a short stop in Amman before my flight.
I’m aiming to rely mostly on public transport and shared shuttles, with minimal taxis only when unavoidable.
My itinerary + transport plan
Day 1 (Friday): Amman → Dana Biosphere Reserve
From Amman take a JETT bus or local bus south toward Tafileh / Qadisiyah.
From there, a short taxi (15–25 min) to Dana Biosphere Reserve.
Light hiking / viewpoints.
Overnight in Dana village.
Day 2 (Saturday): Dana → Petra (full day in Petra)
Morning taxi from Dana to main road / Qadisiyah.
Take minibus or JETT bus to Wadi Musa.
Arrive in Wadi Musa.
Full day in Petra (Siq, Treasury, main trails, optional Monastery hike).
Overnight in Petra area.
Day 3 (Sunday): Petra → Wadi Rum (1.5 days)
Early transfer via JETT bus or shared shuttle to Wadi Rum visitor area.
Afternoon jeep tour + sunset.
Overnight in Bedouin camp.
Day 4 (Monday): Wadi Rum → Dead Sea → Amman → Airport
Sunrise in Wadi Rum + morning desert time.
Midday:
• Pre-arranged shared transfer north toward Dead Sea
• Short stop (1–2 hours) for floating / quick swim
Afternoon/evening:
• Continue to Amman
• A few hours for walking around / souvenir shopping in the city
Late night:
• Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for 3am flight
Questions I’d really appreciate input on:
- Is this realistic using mostly public transport + shared shuttles, or is the Wadi Rum → Dead Sea → Amman → airport sequence too compressed in practice?
- As a solo female traveler, are there any safety or logistics considerations on these routes (especially Dana and the long Monday itinerary)?
- What’s the most practical way people usually handle transport between Wadi Rum, Dead Sea, Amman, and the airport in one day?
Thanks a lot in advance — really appreciate any grounded advice.
4 day itinerary in Jordan
Hi everyone,
I'm heading to Jordan for work this week and have managed to squeeze in a few extra days to see some of the country's highlights. It'll probably be my first and possibly my only visit to Jordan, so I'm trying to make the most of the time I have.
I'll be travelling solo (female traveller) and am currently planning the following:
Day 1 (Friday)
• Take the 8:30 AM JETT bus from Amman to the Dead Sea
• Explore and swim at the Dead Sea
• Take the 5:00 PM JETT bus back to Amman
• Overnight in Amman
Day 2 (Saturday)
• Take the 7:30 AM JETT bus from Amman to Wadi Rum
• Explore Wadi Rum (likely a jeep tour)
• Continue to Aqaba in the evening
• Overnight in Aqaba
Day 3 (Sunday)
• Diving/snorkelling in Aqaba
• Explore Aqaba
• Overnight in Aqaba
Day 4 (Monday)
• Take the 8:00 AM bus from Aqaba to Petra
• Explore Petra for the day
• Travel to Queen Alia International Airport for my 3:00 AM flight
A few questions:
- Does this itinerary sound realistic, especially the Wadi Rum → Aqaba connection and the Petra → Queen Alia Airport transfer?
- Is one full day enough to get a good experience of Petra?
- As a solo female traveller, are there any transportation tips or safety considerations I should be aware of?
- I'm happy to use JETT buses wherever possible, but if there are segments where a shared taxi or private driver would make significantly more sense, I'd love to hear your recommendations.
- Since this may be my first and last trip to Jordan, would you change anything? Are there places on this itinerary you'd skip or replace with something else?
I'm particularly interested in natural landscapes, local culture, and diving rather than nightlife or luxury experiences.
Thanks in advance! I'd really appreciate any suggestions, reality checks, or "if I only had 4 days in Jordan, I'd do this instead" recommendations.

Best places to buy zaatar, olive oil, wine, and pistachio baklava?
I'm heading to Jordan next week and would love some recommendations on local food products and specialties that are worth bringing home.
I'm especially looking for:
- Zaatar
- Olive oil
- Wine
- Pistachio baklava
For olive oil, I'm hoping to find a really good extra virgin olive oil from a local producer if possible. A friend recently brought back some award-winning olive oil from Greece, and it was honestly one of the best I've ever tried. I've heard Jordan produces excellent olive oil as well, so I'd love recommendations for specific brands, farms, or producers.
I'd also appreciate suggestions on where to buy authentic zaatar, local Jordanian wines, and high-quality pistachio baklava. Markets, specialty food shops, wineries, and local producers are all welcome.
If you have any tips on what to look for when choosing olive oil or zaatar in Jordan, I'd be grateful for those too.
Thanks in advance!
Recommendation where to buy olive oil in split?
A friend brought back some award-winning olive oil from Greece recently and it was honestly amazing probably the best I’ve tried.
I’m in Split at the moment and was wondering if anyone has recommendations for something similar here. Ideally a really good extra virgin olive oil, local if possible, or just something high quality from the region.
If anyone has tips on specific brands, small producers, or places in Split to buy good olive oil (markets, specialty shops, etc.), I’d really appreciate it. Also open to any advice on what to look out for when choosing one here.
Looking for Croatian wine recommendations from Split/Dalmatia I’m current
I’m heading to Split and want to bring back a bottle (or two) for a French guy I’m dating who’s really into wine, food, and terroir. He’s an agronomist and appreciates interesting local producers more than big commercial labels.
Any recommendations for Croatian wines or wineries that would impress someone who already knows wine well? Open to reds, whites, orange wines, natural wines, anything unique to the region.
Would also appreciate recommendations for wine shops in Split with a good local selection.
Souvenir ideas from split?
What Croatian product would impress you most?
I’m in Split and bringing something back for a French agronomist I’m dating. He’s very into wine, cooking, olive oil, local products, agriculture, terroir, etc.
Boat tour in split?
Hi everyone! I’m spending 4 days in Split with my friend. we’re leaving this Saturday and staying until Tuesday and would love some recommendations.
So far our plan is:
* Saturday: Split + Trogir
* Sunday: Plitvice Lakes
* Tuesday morning: Marjan Hill before a 12nn flight
Any suggestions for Monday? We’re currently thinking about doing a Blue Cave + islands tour through Viator or GetYourGuide, but we’re very open to other ideas too.
If you think an island tour is worth it, happy to hear which islands/tours you’d recommend!
