Just Finished the Show

Now that season 4 is finally on Netflix, we binged it over the last couple of days. I loved loved loved the ending - got a little choked up, too.

Season 4 was refreshing in a way where it reminded me this show isn't about the villains. It's rather about the core characters and their interactions.

I thought Mantis wasn't a big problem, getting out of the Grey's captivity was barely an inconvenience. Bird lady took out Mantis originally with no big issues. MIB lady wasn't an issue. I was wondering why everything's so easy. Then I realized this show isn't about defeating the big bad. It's about just the people.. and we love it for this.

What about the shoes?!?!

SPOILERS FOR ENDING BELOW!!!

I don’t know how to do spoiler tags on my old-ass phone. Sorry, I’m still using an iPhone 7 because I’m poor.

But I still have questions about the show!

I seem to remember seeing a big pile of shoes on the Grey’s ship. I know we learned that they’re harvesting baby souls for wrinkle cream, but iirc, the shoe pile had lots of different sizes. I don’t remember them all being baby shoes.

So what was up with that? Am I the only one still wondering?

Love the show, but what is up with Season 2?

Season 1 was amazing. So many great moments. Loved the dark humor, and the focus on the alien aspect.

Season 2 is...I don't know. I don't hate it, but at the same time it is a huge disappointment. They're focusing on the human component too much, and it seems like they sidelined the alien and conspiracy theory part of it.

Also at this point I think everyone already sort of knows what a threat Harry is to the world and they're just cool with it.

It just feels like they went too hard into drama and sentimentality territory, and it's not bad but it's too big of a departure from season 1.

Does anyone know what happened?

Darcy is the poster child for main character syndrome

Main character syndrome is a pop-culture term describing the tendency to view your life as a movie where you are the sole protagonist.

That's the whole post. It is exhausting.

4-2 The Lonely Man

Just finished this episode and I laughed all the way through Joseph telling them what happened. No worries - I'm not going to spoil it! Just wanted to say this show is hilarious and I will dread not having new episodes to look forward to when I've reached the end!

How did Peter Bach the alien tracker know that Harry was a real alien in resident alien.

In season 1, episode 9 of resident alien the alien tracker was able to spot harry out of the crowd. I know Peter had the gene that allowed him to see through harrys disguise but how does he know he wasn't someone else dressed up like and alien since they were at an alien convention?

Just finished the show

Like the title says just finished the show like 10 minutes ago! Are we going to have a new season? Surely this wasn’t the end… also great show and now it feels weird not having a next episode option. Truly great show.

Any similar show recommendations to fill the void and chit chat about the show? Feel free. Cheers!

The mayor and his management style

This may not be allowed in this group as it’s not about the show per se .

I’ve become a new manager recently and even as a worker before I always found it difficult to figure out why I was having such a hard time . Until I watched this show and looked at the mayor’s character . In the show, it didn’t seem like people of the town or perhaps just the police and rest of the characters , really took him seriously, or listened to him, believed him , etc he always tried to be very optimistic, approached people with positivity and wanted to help them , but why didn’t people take him seriously?

I always feel like as a manger and as a worker I’m never taken seriously or it just feels like I’m not respected as I should be for my position .

My Canadian Cravers

Beware, Crave has Resident Alien listed in their "leaving soon" list. So possibly we'll be losing the show at the end of the month. Perhaps that's because Netflix is adding the last 2 seasons to their lineup? Fingers crossed.

this show is pure seratonin fr 😭

fr it's been a long time since a TV show hooked me up like this, it's actually making me laugh out loud and I'm grateful for that because lately I've been so depressed and miserable i can count on one hand the amounts of times i have laughed in the past few months

I started watching it like 2 days ago and I'm already almost halfway through s2 (I'm currently unemployed bc of my anorexia so I have way too much time on my hands lmao) and I want to keep binge watching but I'm forcing myself to watch 2/3 episodes a day because I don't want to finish it 😭

sorry this post is probably all over the place, hope you're all having a lovely weekend 🫶
