Tapering off

Well, although I feel the medication is working I am going off of it due to the weight gain. The weight I have put on is now affecting my health. I am on several other meds so hopefully the depression doesn’t return. Otherwise, I am at a loss. I just felt like sharing because I feel so hopeless and defeated. I could cry. I’m miserable.

Rexulti belly fat and constipated

I switched to rexulti after many years on abilify-which caused some weight gain. But since taking rexulti for about 2 months my belly has gotten bigger. Is it a coincidence or from the med? Also very constipated.

When does it work for depression ?

I’ve been on 2mg for about a week and am not sure I’ve noticed much of a difference, possibly a bit less sadness and depression. When did it start working for you guys?

Abilify vs Rexulti - weight gain

Hi! Could anyone that has been on both abilify and rexulti share a comparison of the weight gain, if any, they experienced?

Abilify was weight neutral for me, only just started rexulti.

Is Rexulti inhibiting my Vyvanse 70mg?

Rexulti is an antipsychotic and antidepressant medication, I'm on it and 70mg Vyvanse. I used to feel more euphoric when I took Vyvanse, on Rexulti I don't seem to get the same effects. Does Rexulti's modulation of D2 receptors mean the dopamine aspects are blunted? Is it partial and just in certain areas of the brain or entirely if so? And noradrenaline isn't effected?

Fear of tapering down pt 2

So I ended up tapering down from 2mg to 0.5mg but that only lasted for 6 days before I started to experience intense nausea, headaches and vomiting. I went in to see my doctor who was adamant that it was not due to the tapering down but nothing had changed in my health or regimen aside from adding the topiramate and tapering down my rexulti. He put me back on 1.5mg but I’m experiencing irritability and intense anxiety and spells of depression and no motivation, it’s only been about a week and a half since I’ve seen him and I don’t think he’ll be receptive to my symptoms. Any advice?

Rexulti and Flexeril Interactions

Has anyone here taken Rexulti and Flexeril together within the same day?

I’ve checked with my doctor and pharmacist, and I’m aware there can be a moderate interaction/CNS depression concern or the risk of serotonin syndrome. I’m looking for individual experiences.

For context, I’m on a low dose of Rexulti at 0.5 MG and was considering/was prescribed low-dose cyclobenzaprine, likely at night (half tab of 5 MG). I have severe fibromyalgia, which is why we are considering this trial of low-dose Flexeril.

I’m curious how people felt with the combo.
Thanks!

Welbutrin + Rexulti

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for personal experiences and thoughts about this combination.

Im F(36) was on SSRIs/SNRIs and CBT for around 10 years, and they didn’t help at all in fact it made the depressive episodes worse, gained a tremendous amount of weight on, and it caused hypothyroidism among other things.

I stopped antidepressants for about 5 years, then started Wellbutrin/bupropion about a year ago after a severe depressive episode that lasted 8 months.

I’m now on 300 mg SR, EMDR therapy, and it has helped with depression and CPTSD immensely.

And also, i take a small quarter dose of Seroquel/quetiapine for sleep

However, I still struggle with emotional flatness, anhedonia, freeze/shutdown mode, tiredness, and executive dysfunction. I can manage necessities, but I still feel stuck and not fully functional, especially with socializing, trying new things, going to the gym, and maintaining my health… etc.

I also was diagnosed with autism as an adult, which may be part of the freeze/executive dysfunction issue.

My psychiatrist prescribed Rexulti/brexpiprazole as an add-on to Wellbutrin, but I’m apprehensive. I’m scared it could undo the progress I’ve made or cause side effects like akathisia, emotional blunting, fatigue, or weight gain.

Has anyone added Rexulti to Wellbutrin for residual depression, anhedonia, freeze/shutdown, or executive dysfunction? Did it help or make things worse? What dose did you start on, and how long did it take to notice effects?

Will I need to taper?

So I was on Rexulti for 7 days, started at 0.5mg for three days, then 1mg for three days, then was accidentally given 2mg on the last day and it’s caused Akathisia which freaked me out and wanted off the medication, I stopped taking it 3 days ago and feel fine (akathisia is still there though) but I didn’t realise Rexulti has a half life of 91 hours, I thought it would of been around 24h and that it would be out of my system relatively quick. Given its 91 hour half life. It should be out my system in around 19 days, but will I be going into withdrawals even though I was only it for a week and at 2mg for one day? Will I still need to taper?
