Rented car scratched

Hi everyone,
We rented a car in Greece and after a few days of using it we noticed some scratches on the front bumper, mostly underneath the bumper area. In my opinion, they look like scratches in the paint rather than serious damage.
We’re not actually sure if we caused them or if they were already there when we picked up the car. The rental company didn’t take any deposit from us.
Does anyone know how this usually works with rental cars in Greece? Would insurance normally cover something like this? What could the possible consequences or costs be for us when returning the car?
Has anyone had a similar experience?
Thank you!

3 hours in Lindos

If you had 3 hours to spend in Lindos (approx 6:15-9:30pm on a Wednesday ) what would you do there?

We're interested in ideas for walking routes and getting some street food or a quick sit-down meal.

I don't think there's time to enter the Acropolis (we'd arrive at the same time as last entry) but maybe it's still worth visiting Lindos?

Thanks

Marmaris boat trip from Rhodos

Hi! We are staying in Lindos right now and we plan to visit Marmaris on Monday. I don’t know if we understood something wrong or we only have 65 minutes for shopping there? Is it possible to come back with another cruise?
Thanks in advance!

Lost our engagement video in Rhodes. Please help us to find it. 1.000€ finder‘s fee

Hello all.

Me and my soon-to-be-wife where in vacation in Rhodes.

Yesterday I did the proposal on the View-Point of Antony Quinn Beach and filmed it with my DJI Neo 2 in Helix-Mode. Just after the proposal the drone drifted away because of the wind and lost connection. The last coordinates says 36.322659, 28.210845. also here is the screenshot where it lost connection.

I was at the bay just after it happened (yesterday, 03.07.2026 at around 16 o’clock) and tried to find it. But I couldn’t find it and didn’t had the time to go diving because we needed to leave for our flight.

We are really Heart-broken because our engagement video is on the drone :((

Please: could you please watch out for the drone. Maybe someone was at the bay and saw it? Or a friend found it? Or maybe someone is there and has the time to look for it? I am not sure whether it sunk or it landed somewhere nearby.

Here is where we where when it drifted of: https://maps.app.goo.gl/KH1ji59aAeMZ1Tjm7?g_st=ic

If someone finds the drone that has our video on it we will pay the person 1000 €.

Thank you very much

Trip to Rhodes review late June/early July

Just back from Rhodes. Rhodes is spectacular!

Some things of note:
- We rented a car. Having a car is a must. Makes things so much easier if you want to stay outside of the Old Town and visit several beaches and other towns. We rented with Monza car, it was super cheap (we paid €25/day for a small car, fully insured, no down payment) and had no issues with them. Only downside that they’re a bit outside the airport and they pick you up with a shuttle to take you to their office to pick up your car. A minor inconvenience, but we didn’t mind as the price and service was excellent.

- We stayed at a brand new hotel (2nd year of service) located just outside Faliraki called Lime Hotel. Excellent service, and price. The hotel is a walking distance from Faliraki and the Faliraki beach for those who prefer to walk. Faliraki is a great place for all ages. Very lively with tons of bars (mostly geared towards a younger crowd) and restaurant choices (for all ages!). The hotel was also a short drive to the Old Town (around 15-20 minutes) so we went there a few times too. Tons of choices there too for bars, coffee shops and restaurants.

- We loved a bar/restaurant called Sissitio in the Old Town, shown in some of the photos I shared. Great entertainment by a live singer and band, great cocktails and drinks and good food (a bit pricey). Overall a great entertainment experience.

- We travel to Greece a lot (we’re regulars in Crete). We found Rhodes a bit expensive overall when it comes to restaurants, and the food in general was not great or anything special for Greek standards. A bit disappointing.

- We loved the beaches in Rhodes. The best ones in my opinion were Tsampika beach (sandy, organized) €25 for 2 sunbeds and umbrella, Agathi beach (sandy, no sunbeds), Lindos beach (sandy, organized) €25 for 2 sunbeds and umbrella, Stegna (mostly sandy, with some small pebbles as you enter the beach, organized) €15 for 2 sunbeds and umbrella, Prasonisi (sandy, organized) €25 for 2 sunbeds and umbrella. Agathi and Prasonisi were the most spectacular beaches in my opinion. Prasonisi is pretty far from everything, but what an experience that was!

- Very kind and professional service everywhere. Rhodes is a tourist destination for many decades and it shows. The service quality we received everywhere was exceptional.

- Busy, but in a good way. Rhodes town (Old Town) and Faliraki felt busy. Tons of people walking around, eating, drinking…but it felt great and lively. The Palace of the Grand Master and the Street of the Knights are must visits. The Palace of the Grand Master is open from 8am to 8pm so make arrangements to get there early if you want to enjoy it. You’ll need a good hour or a bit longer to walk through it.

- Lindos is in a league of its own. Some people call it little Monaco for a good reason. It does give Monaco vibes. Very lovely, beautiful scenery and beautiful people everywhere. The Acropolis of Lindos is spectacular and a must visit.

Ask away if you’ll be visiting Rhodes this summer and have questions or need feedback about anything! We loved Rhodes and I’m sure you’ll love it too!

How common are earthquakes?

I’m taking my family to Rhodes for our first family holiday, but I’m just after seeing online that it’s apparently very common for earthquakes over there. Is this something we should worry about? I’ve never experienced an earthquake as we are from England and I’m curious is this something we should cancel the trip over.

Lindos to Rhodes late evening

So I’ve been trying to look up the bus timetables but from what I can see buses don’t run too late.
I really want to watch the sunset and see Lindos light up.
Any recommendations for getting back later? Is it common at all to find others at the taxi rank who may be happy to share the cost?
It’s just me and my son and €70 feels a little steep.

Is this a doable daytrip on a 50cc rental moped? Sunrise to sunset, main breaks at Lindos and Embonas.

Faliraki for 3 single guys around 30

Hi everyone,
My friends and I are thinking about spending 5 days in Faliraki in early August. We’re three single Italian guys around 30, looking for a holiday with nice sandy beaches, good sea, and a lively social/nightlife scene.

We’re not necessarily looking for hardcore clubbing every night, but we’d like a place where it’s easy to meet people, go to beach bars, have drinks, and find an international crowd. Ideally not somewhere that is mostly families, couples or older tourists, but also not only 18-year-old chaos.

We’d like to stay somewhere where both the beach and the evening spots are walkable, without needing to rent a car or rely on taxis all the time.
A few questions for people who have been there recently:
- Is Faliraki a good fit for this kind of trip?
- Is the crowd in August more young/social, or mostly families and couples? Is there a prevalence of any specific type of tourists (southern Europe? UK?)
- Is the nightlife fun for people around 30, or does it feel too young?
- Which area would you recommend staying in: near the beach, Bar Street, or somewhere slightly quieter?
- Are the beaches actually nice and will we find a great sea, or should we plan day trips to Tsambika, Anthony Quinn Bay or Lindos?
- Any hotels/apartments, bars, beach clubs, restaurants or areas to check out / avoid?

Thanks!

The rudeness of the big groups of teenagers here

What is up with the extreme rudeness of the teenagers that are flooding Rhodes city now?

I understand they are celebrating and having a party holiday, nothing wrong with that. I did exactly that 20 years ago. Enjoy youth and have fun.

But i have never in my life experienced such extreme rudeness and unsocial behavior towards other people. Today i saw one accidentally dropping a big bottle of booze next to the foot of an older lady, glass flying in her slippers. She screamed of shock. They ran away and the one that kept behind didn't even say sorry or nothing, and ran fast also when he was asked to do so. She had a cut on her foot. A lot of them are in our hotel and are puking in the hallway, banging on doors all night long and keeping everybody up till the early hours. When you open the door to ask them to be silent they are afraid to look at you and fastly walk away, just to come back 2 minutes later and start the circus again. Such pussy behaviour in my opinion, why not say 'sorry i am drunk and i'll try to do beter'? Or explain what is the problem, why is the banging on the door all night long so necessary?

It has truly turned our holiday into hell. Police have been called several times and some have already been evicted.

They dont say hello in elevator, not even when we happily say 'kalimeraaaa' afraid to look anyone older than 25 in the eye?

What is up with them? Where are they mostly from?

End of rant, but if anyone has answers...i'm just curious which country lets wolves raise their kids.

(Ps: i don't want to name the hotel because they are really trying their best, before anyone asks)

Prices for sunbeds in Rhodes?

Hi. I’m going to Rhodes at the end of July with 2 of my friends. I’m wondering how much we’ll have to realistically pay for the sunbeds. We’re on a pretty tight budget.
The beaches we’ll definitely visit are Elli, Anthony Quinn Bay and Faliraki.
Thank you

Food Recommendations

Hey everyone,

Im staying in Rhodes Town starting Tuedsday for a few days. I heard that a lot of the restaurants are tourist traps. What restaurants have cheap and authentic food? We would especially like good greek food, good seafood and possibly a bar to drink wine or cocktails.

Thank you for your help!

Cliff jumping

Hi! Three friends and I are going to Rhodes and we really enjoy cliff jumping — nothing too extreme, but around 10 metres and higher would be great.
Last year we went cliff jumping in Malta and had an amazing time. Does anyone know of safe, accessible spots in Rhodes, or where we could look for them?
Thanks a lot! :)

Hey everyone, just wondering about a boat trip from Rhodes to symi and a stop in at George’s bay

I’m visiting in September and plan to go to symi for a day trip. I see some tours offer a stop in St George’s bay and then 3 hrs in symi. Is this the best way to do it or is it better to get one of the main ferries to symi and then figure out our own way to St George’s bay from there??

Should we rent a car or not?

We’re a couple, staying in Rhodes for 8 days in July in Kolympia, very excited to see beautiful Rhodes! We’re unsure whether to rent a car or not… we will probably spend some days at the hotel and the local beaches, but we’ll also take a few day trips to Lindos, Rhodes town, different beaches etc. We’re a bit concerned about parking/very busy roads given the time of year - should we rent a car or is it better to take busses/taxis? What is the parking like on the island during July?
We’ve found a cheap car on Holiday Autos - has anyone used this before?
Thank you!
