Not syncing unless I open app?

My data does not sync unless I open the app which I think defeats the whole purpose as I don't get notifications unless I open the app. I have settings allowed and unrestricted for background usage. What am I doing wrong? I also can't seem to figure out the headache tracking? I thought the ring is supposed to alert of possibe headache? I have it enabled and even logged it a few times. Any advice is appreciated.

Sleep and changing fingers

So I know everyone is saying the sizing ring feels different from actual ring and I’m waiting for my ring to be shipped, but i noticed with the sizing ring I had to swap from left index to right index for my brain to stop focusing on it and sleep,

If I had to do that with the actual ring does that change the way it tracks. I know it says it works on any finger but they have their recommended placement but I was wondering if anyone had experienced with this. This is my first smart ring.

Battery life

Hello,
I started wearing my ring on July 3rd once it was 100% charged. I know it says the battery life should be 9 days. Currently as of today my battery life says 59% 5 days 21h. Is this because I used it last night for sleep apnea monitoring ? Will that drain the battery.

[OC] I stopped asking my smart ring for permission [12:32]

Hey folks, this is my video essay I created. It's an exploration of how a smart ring and its metrics started steering in the opposite direction I wanted them to, and what I learned through research about this phenomenon.

Early Pregnancy Detection!

I bought this ring to mainly track my cycle and I got pregnant the first cycle using it! Received a high heart rate alert on 7/2, tested positive 7/5 🥹

People that wear Watch and Ring

I’m new here and trying to find a system. I have been an Apple Watch wearer for years. I like to watch for getting notifications and tracking workouts, but I can’t stand sleeping in it and I wanted to track my sleep so I bought the generation 2. So for those of you that have both, what does your switching schedule look like and how do you store your ring during the day? Anything else I need to know?

Edit: when I said the word switching above, I meant taking off one tracker and adding the other. But now people are saying you might be able to wear both at the same time and I thought that would be an issue for double tracking.

Skin Temp TTC

Bought the ringconn for the baby prep feature as me and my husband have been TTC. I'm currently 2 days late, what day does it look like I ovulated? I haven't tested yet as I'm too scared to be disappointed again. My skin temp seems to be dropping but still no period in sight. Been haing cramps, sore left boob, and feeling of tiredness since 3 days before my expected period start date. Does this graph look like I ovulated? what day?

Location Temperature and UV Index

I just received my ring from Amazon and have been wearing it for about a week now.

I bought it specifically for the migrane tracking with the environmental factors such a barometric pressure.

Since I have gotten the ring, the migrane and sun exposure detection have not been able to track my location. (I'm in Canada if that make a difference).

I have tried everything such as my phones location settings, the app permission settings in my phone (I set it to be able to see my location at all times) , the ringconn app location settings, uninstalling and reinstalling the app and nothing changes.

Potential buyer:

Hi! An ad popped up on Facebook for Ringconn gen 3 and mentioned the smart ring monitors Blood Pressure, Sleep apnea, and other health options.

I’ve been dealing with blood pressure issues lately and want something easier to use vs carrying a cuff around all the time.

Is these rings accurate? Is there a subscription? Can anyone who used these tell me pros and cons?

funny

so, I had my son June 25th. yay. my RingConn would ask me why my period hadn’t come since October 11th. I was always like.. wonder why! ;) and then now it’s asking me why my sleep pattern is bad with frequent awakenings.. wonder why!
I know, I know…. it doesn’t actually know I’m pregnant. I’m just finding humor.

also it keeps mentioning that my average/resting heart rate has dropped a lot. average during pregnancy was at least in the 90s, now it’s 65-68 most of the day. and one time it logged me as doing an intense workout when I was laying in bed having contractions for over 30 minutes. I hadn’t been out of the bed or even rolled over!

Am I Overthinking This?

The first few days after I got my ring, I’d take it off whenever washing my hands. Then I read a few posts here and believed that keeping the ring on for this activity was fine.

When I got up yesterday, the light was off. I’m used to the green light constantly taking metrics. Since then, it’s either been the flashing green lights Ls and red and green lights, but defaults back to no lights.

All of my data has been uploaded and is current. Just for reference, I’ve had the ring for over a week. Is it possible that the lights initially flashed more the first few days so it could collect baseline data?

Gen 2 or Gen 3?

I’ve been wanting to buy a ringconn but debating which gen to buy. I’ve heard great things about the gen 2 but if I’m making the investment i might as well get the newest version… but I’ve heard Gen 3 has had issues with the app and the new features/old features being accurate. Which Gen should I buy?

Buyer Beware: 2nd catastrophic battery failure

I’m posting this as a warning to anyone considering buying into the RingConn ecosystem. I’m a Gen 2 Kickstarter backer. I genuinely wanted this company to succeed, but their battery hardware is fundamentally flawed, and their quality control is unacceptable.

Failure 1: My original Gen 2 ring suffered severe, sudden battery degradation (dropping from days of charge to literally hours). After pushing back, support replaced it for me as a "one-time exception."

Failure 2: I received that replacement unit in March of this year. This week, it completely bricked. It won't connect to the app, no sensors light up, and the factory reset procedure does nothing. When I put it in the charging case, it flashes blue briefly and immediately turns orange.

If you know how battery management systems (BMS) work, you know exactly what this means. The blue-to-orange flash is the ring failing its initial voltage handshake. The internal protection circuit has permanently locked out the lithium-polymer cell due to a severe voltage drop or an internal short. The ring is permanently dead. A lithium battery committing suicide in under 100 days is a massive manufacturing defect.

The Support Response When I reached out with the technical proof of this failure, here was their official response:

>After checking, your order has exceeded the 1-year warranty period.
To thank your support, we offered a special replacement in Feb.

Sorry to let you know that the second replacement is not supported.

In this scenario, we are willing to offer you a discounted price for a new Gen 2 smart ring.
The discount price is 100 USD. It is for the smart ring only. The charger will not be included.

So let me get this straight: I helped fund your product launch, you sent me a unit with a defective battery, you replaced it with another defective battery that bricked itself in less than 100 days, and your solution is to ask me for $100 for a third Gen 2 ring? Why would I give you more money for hardware with a proven 100% failure rate in my experience?

This is a systemic problem. I've been digging through this subreddit and other forums, and I am far from the only one burning through multiple rings. It is clearly a widespread quality control failure. For anyone doubting it, here are just a few other examples of users experiencing the exact same fatal battery degradation:

If you're looking for a smart ring, I would look elsewhere.

Inaccuracy

How has everyone's accuracy been? Mine just came in the mail today. Been in bed the past 3 hours and somehow my steps have gone up over 1000. Feeling very skeptical about the entire ring rn.

Gen 2 owner since late last year — is Gen 3 actually worth the upgrade?

I've had my Gen 2 since February and honestly it's been great — battery does mostly what they promised, sleep tracking has been consistent, and I've gotten weirdly into watching my HRV over time and making some lifestyle changes in response. The app experience could be better, but that's not really about the ring.

I keep seeing Gen 3 posts everywhere and I've got the upgrade itch. For anyone who's owned both: what changed day to day? Is it noticeably better at anything (accuracy, comfort, battery), or is it more of a spec-sheet upgrade? I'd rather hear from people who wore both than watch another review video or have full faith in RingConn's comparison articale.

Leaning towards just keeping my Gen 2 until a future generation REALLY adds some new features.

does the ringconn gold colour fade?

I recently got the ringconn gen 2 a week ago and I’m constantly worrying that my ring will fade. I wear real gold rings with my ringconn, and I’m worried if the ringconn fades or has discolouration it will make my ring stack look bad.

I always take it off during shower, I do the dishes a lot and take it off then too, during cooking, when I clean the house and also when I wash my face and do skincare lol. I also keep checking the ring to see if it scratched or discoloured. And because I take my ring off during housework, I end up not accurately tracking my steps and activity.

Anyways, for the peace of my mind, am I worrying too much or does the ring not fade easily? for the price I expect the gold coating not to be cheap.
