Hello my fellow Perris residents/ homeowners. I bought a house and moved to Perris last year 10/2025. I just received my tax bill and I couldn’t believe how high it is. It went from $6,426.60 to $10,148.94. I see that the regular property tax is $7,308.84 which is understandable but they added SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AND FIXED CHARGES $2,840.10 bringing it up to $10,148.94. What is this SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AND FIXED CHARGES? Is this a one time charge or yearly charge? Or is it just me? Did anybody else receive this charge? I checked the previous home owners tax history and I don’t see it high like this. It shows $6426.60 or below. I received supplemental tax assessment bill $2,488.82 in 7/2026 which happens when you buy a new house. I already paid the 1st half $1,244.41 and the 2nd half is due in 11/2026. So I’m expected to pay the 2nd half supplemental $1,244.41 and the property tax 1st installmental $5,074.47 in 11/2026 and 12/2026. This is crazy and insane. So are they trying to say that Perris property tax is higher than Corona property tax because I will sell immediately I clock 2 years. I will rather pay that in Corona than here. I’m pissed about this bill.

Edit; Few people mentioned it’s called Mello-Roos Taxes. I just looked it up. This is my first time hearing about this Mello-Roos Taxes. I had an escrow account that paid out my taxes fine and on time. Looks like this is a new charge for the residents. OMG if you live in Perris, close to Ramona and Evan’s Rd check your tax bills 🫢😳

Looking at houses and considering moving here. Seems quiet, close enough to the park and close enough to downtown. Thoughts?

A bean and cheese burrito with potato was $5.06 and I got a Coke Zero across the street at Dollar Tree for $1.25

I don't know if these are as big as I remember 30 years ago. But it was good sized. For $5 this is a damn good deal. I don't like their Carne Asada much. But the BRC and El Potato with Shredded Beef have always been excellent.

I was slightly pissed off when they switched to packets for hot sauce. But these are big and still one of the best mild sauces anywhere.

I don't suspect these will stay $5 for long, but for now this is about the most filling thing I can get, and they're still tasty.

I know I could get 2 1/2lb B&C from Del taco for probably the same price. But these are so much better IMHO.

I took some needles from the pine trees at Reid Park to make homemade teas and sodas with my little brother! Well, I just found out that certain pine needles are poisonous 😅I’m having a hard time identifying this tree, does anyone know what species this is and if it’s safe for consumption? Thank you in advance :)

Found male dog near Pachappa Hill/Riverside Plaza area.

Very friendly. Can keep him only for this weekend while looking for his home.

He has already been checked for a microchip and does not have one.
