Hi everyone,

I'm honestly exhausted and I'm hoping someone has experienced something similar.

About a month ago I discovered that my Rockstar Social Club account had apparently been modified. Friends who still had me added on Social Club noticed that my account had changed its username to "gtvrk5", even though I never changed it.

Since then, everything has been a mess.

• The Social Club account I currently have access to does not contain my GTA V PC license.
• My GTA V PC license no longer appears in the Rockstar Games Launcher.
• Sometimes, when I try to log into the launcher with my original email, it even says the account doesn't exist.
• The account I can access also shows a creation date of 2025, even though my original account was created years earlier.

This makes me think that my original Social Club account may have been compromised, renamed, or had its email changed, and that I'm now accessing a different account instead of my original one.

The biggest problem is Rockstar Support itself. I've opened around 14 support tickets over the last month. Most of them were closed without a solution, and live chat always sends me back to the same account recovery form. I feel like every new agent only sees part of the story, so I have to explain everything again from the beginning.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

• Has your Social Club username ever changed without your permission?
• Has anyone managed to recover a Rockstar account after it was renamed or its email was changed?
• Is there any way to identify which email is currently associated with the renamed account?
• Is there any way to reach someone at Rockstar who can actually investigate the account history?

At this point, I'm looking for any advice or similar experiences because I feel like I'm going in circles with support.

Hello redditors.

A few hours ago I have managed to get rid of Social Club on my legal GTA V steam copy.

That's how I did that:

1. Launched the game normally

2. When the game is launched and I have loaded a savegame, I have renamed the SocialClubHelper.exe.

3. When renamed, shut down via the task mgr all social club processes.

4. After that, the game is running without the social club nicely, which gives me a lot of RAM for modding.

But! After removing all these processes and playing for a few minutes, the game just unloads my save without even asking and then shows me the save loading screen again, which never finishes

Did somebody had the same issue?

!!! FOUND THE SOLUTION !!!

Here's what you should do to shut down all social club processes and play normally:

1. Launch the GTA V.
2. Start your game
3. Don't rename the SocialClubHelper.exe yet
4. Kill the following processes: 4.1. audio.CrUtility 4.2. storage.CrUtil 4.3. video_capture.C 4.4. network.CrUtili 4.5. Launcher.exe
5. The processes may restart for a second but will shut down in a few seconds. Some of them will not shut down.
6. After that, rename the SocialClubHelper.exe
7. Shutdown the leftover processes: storage.CrUtil, network.CrUtil. Then shutdown the helper process
8. Now, kill the BrowserMain process. The renderer process will suicide a few seconds later.
9. Done! Your game is running without SocialClub and somewhere a rockstar employee started crying. Congrats!
10. After shutting down the game, rename the socialclubprocess back to it previous name
11. When you will launch the game again, repeat all these steps! It's easy to memorize them actually

• New issue with this method: ScriptHookV just shuts down for some reason. But RagePluginHook is working completely fine. After executing this method, the ScriptHookV console just stops opening and scripts that depend on this hook are becoming extremely buggy. For example with Smooth Driving V mod, the script still works somehow but I am not able to use turn signals, not able to switch between race and normal modes. When I will find a way on how to resolve this bug I will update this post
• Temporary solution to the issue above
• 1. First of all, when the game is loaded and you are in the world, rename the socialclubhelper.exe
• 2. Kill the audio.CrUtility, video_capture_c, storage_CrUtil, network_CrUtili.
• 3. Now, when the processes are removed, proceed to playing the game. That's everything you can do. Don't touch Launcher.exe, because as I understand ScriptHookV relies on it. This method is not effective as the main one, but still saves you about a GB of RAM. I would appreciate any help on this issue

I wont lie since my pc died been really ir hing for ps : i dont understand why i can create a mew account through customer service woth the same email , same ID , same phone number same billing address but Rockstar has not cracked the code on active roles or directory , literally any other platform i can move game character data except Somy and the only reason i can think is to rip people off and make them rebuy games and be so annoyed the buckle and do in game purchases to rebuild
Even SWTOR will let you pay a fee to move a character completely

I posted on here awhile ago pretty furious that I bought a game on steam and it opened rockstar just to say I had to check a dead email for a verification code even though I never asked for two step verification. I knew for years I should change email but I rarely played the games much recently so I know I’m partially to blame but rockstars system is so broken and support is so terrible that it took me this long for the one good customer service rep “Kyler” to easily get my account back and it was up and running 10 minutes after my response.

So many support tickets sent with most left hanging and others just shutting me down saying I don’t have enough proof and would never answer my follow up responses asking what they needed. The account was 13 years old so all I knew was password and Xbox 360 account it was attached to and steam id and proof of purchases. I was getting so desperate that in the fields where it would ask for things I would type sentences begging to allow me to prove im the owner. Some real wild tactics..lmao at that point it became the principle that bothered me more then losing my account. I hated that my steam was locked to this dead account and all my games were just lost for good. Out of nowhere I finally get a simple response that allowed me to just choose a new email address or merge my new account to my steam. I opted to change the email and bam.. I’m finally in just 10 minutes later. So the key to anyone locked out like me.. just be annoying as possible and eventually you will find Kyler of tier 2 support lol

I have been trying all day today to reset the email of my rockstar account. Ticket after ticket I have been given the same automated message besides one response.

To give context I tried to login to my rockstar account to play gta 5 on my steam account. When I went to log in, it said I had to verify my email. Which is a yahoo email I made back when I was 12. Yahoo deleted the account……

So now, I submit multiple tickets to resolve the issue, and everytime without fail I get the same automated message.

Except for the most recent which said to “contact google to get the email restored”

What is that supposed to do when it’s a YAHOO account. Do better rockstar.

I played on my account like normal yesterday. Today when I start up launcher it says sign in. I try to sign in, it says "Sorry, we are unable handle your request at this time.". Well i try again, same thing. I contact support, they say that "We aren't certain that you own the account". WELL I DO. I send another ticket same thing. I try again cant send a new one. Cant sign in, cant contact them. I own the account but i cannot sign in. What should i do? I dont want to lose the acc, because i play with my friends a lot and am in the GTA phase atm. And the cherry on top me and my little brother play on it too. So his progress will be gone also. Somebody pls help me with this. Note: I have tried almost everything.

I bought gta 5 on epic games when it was free and today I bought it on steam and linked with same rockstar account. Now can I unlink it from epic games and play completely on steam.

I don't play gta online and i don't care if my online progress is deleted.

Can we talk about how absolute shitass rockstar support is? I have recently started trying to contact them about my second account that I have GTA connected to that I have no longer access to the email as it was deleted permanently from Google for private reasons. The support is spitting in my face and every time I try to contact them they either get the auto-bot to instantly close my ticket saying they can't do nothing about it as the "Info I provided was incorrect" even though everything was correct, I verified it like 2 times to check if I didn't mess up something, but I didn't. When I tried to use different type of ticket "Email change" saying that I'm trying to recover my account, they tell me to use the form where the bot instantly closes my tickets, even when I ask them to stop doing that and actually let me explain and proof ownership of that account, they just act actually the same like those bots, keep saying the same thing. "Use the 'trouble signing in to your account' form" over and over again. Now I don't know if I got banned from ticket or something but for the past day I can't make any tickets. Great support, Rockstar Support compared to Steam is absolute trashass shit.

Okay so I don’t know where to begin here but my GTA V disc game on PlayStation 4 is stuck loading at 90% and before you tell me a basic answer, I’ve already tried pressing the ps button turning it back on, pressing ps button and switching users and going back, uninstalling and reinstalling it, resetting database, switching date, unplugging PlayStation from wall, and those are the most basic answers in all Reddit posts and YouTube videos yet none seemed to work! If anybody knows what’s going on and how to fix it, please tell me the answer

Why did rockstar remove 95 percent of community jobs, even if they're old, I need to play them

Edit 2: It's a fucking bot even at TIER 3?????? WHAT THE FUCK?!

Edit: Shittiest tech support in the world, even when the AI escalates to tier 2, instead letting you provide more information or connecting you to a human, it automatically closes the ticket and asks you to make another one......

I have already made 3 tickets today about having a deleted email account linked to my rockstar account, which means I can't play any rockstar game because I can't log in since it sends the verification code to the account that is deleted.

Every single time some ai bot just says I did not provide enough proof (without asking for more proof that I own the account) and automatically closes the ticket.

I was just wondering what the best way to go about this would be. I've tried several times now to contact Rockstar support under the official ticket system, selecting "account compromised".

My situation might be a bit special. my account most likely got hacked a few years ago but I only noticed now, whenever I want to play one of my rockstar games that I bought via steam and the Rockstar launcher opens I can't login anymore, it tells me I should log in with the correct email and then it shows me a partially hidden hotmail address that is not mine. I sent rockstar support everything to prove that it's me who wants the account back. everything I can offer. I sent them my steam ID that is linked to that specific Rockstar account, the PSN ID that's linked as well. I showed them the Product keys of GTAV and Max Payne 3 (you can still see these on steam, back in the day you had to activate those manually on the rockstar account as well) so they should know the license I show them on steam is the same as the on on the R* Account. I took screenshots of my purchase dates of every single rockstar game I have on steam, they can see the purchase date and the activation date on the Rockstar account is the same. I provided all this info with screenshots and detailed text. I also can prove that I own the old mail address that the account ran on before it got changed by some random guy that got access to it. yet every single time the ticket gets closed after few hours with the same message:

"Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support.

We understand you are contacting us about recovering a Rockstar Games account. We are unable to recover this account because we cannot verify that you are the owner of the account."

and then the ticket gets closed instantly.

is there any way to get this done or are all the Rockstar games I bought on steam useless now just because of this? would be a bit sad, this account and its games and achievements goes back almost 15 years by now...

Dear all,

I bought GTA IV last week on Steam but when I boot up the game, it tries to verify a rockstar account by sending an email to an address I can no longer access.

I've opened multiple tickets to Rockstar Support but they just get rejected, stating they that can't confirm I'm the owner of that Rockstar account.

I just want them to unlink whichever account is associated with my Steam Account so that I can link the one associated with my Playstation Account. Or create a new one, whatever because I just want to play some GTA IV lol

Do you guys recommend anything? What type of ticket to choose? Form of communication with them? I seem to get only replies from bots or something.
