December 2017, Rohit's first T20i series as a captain. Was so lucky to be at the final game and seeing Rohit win that first trophy. To think that years ago it was just my fav player was made captain for a series and today he's a captaincy legend

I lived abroad prior to 2014 and moved back to India in 2014 summer.
Saw the T20WC in the summer break and started getting into cricket, gutted by the loss in the final, I became a fan of Rohit's opening batting in the process. I was never a cricket fan and didn't know much about players and all.
Over time I got to know that Rohit is a very underrated and overhated player
Fast forward to 2015 IPL, I watched the entire tournament and was trying to choose a fav team to root for. Eventually I saw Rohit as MI captain and how they tried a lot but somehow lost many matches on the wire. I decided to support them both in the hope they'll turn the luck around and they did and that win sealed my love for Rohit (especially with the 50 in the final).
Over time I can surely say that Rohit has paid my love back with crazy innings, becoming India's best opener and also a multi ICC wining captain (which healed my trauma as an ICT fan who only saw multiple losses)
I've been lucky to see him play live including a century for India and multiple 50s for India and MI and also gotten some autographs in the process.
