Theosophy and L Frank Baum

Has anyone studied theosophy enough to know which characters and storylines in the Oz series likely came from Baum's mysticism?

A New Interview with Erwin - Bardon Practitioner among many other traditions

Hello all, I think this is a really nice look at how someone has approached the training. Hope you enjoy. In our first interview with Erwin Pitsch, we explored the extraordinary breadth of his path—from his early practice of Franz Bardon’s system and involvement in Rosicrucian and Martinist traditions to Kerning, yoga, the Jhānas, Theosis and the possibility of the Rainbow Body. That conversation introduced a practitioner whose conclusions were shaped not by loyalty to a single school, but by decades of sustained work across Western esotericism and Eastern contemplative traditions. Any experience with sodalitas rosae crucis (SRC) + any other Rosicrusian orders to check out in NY?

Wondering if anyone has any experience with them and how their workings affect their lives, I’m in New York City so can visit any groups in this area regularly.

Also feel free to let me know any details via DM that you don’t want to share publicly plus any other orders I should check out or reach out to

An Alternative (for me) for Rosicrucian Orders

For the longest time, I've been trying to find a Rosicrucian Order that fits me and my mental and spiritual make up so to speak. I've joined nearly every single order and for some reason none of them ever fully clicked for me. I've posted here a few times that ultimately, I am not trying to learn about auras, manifesting my desires, telepathy, clairaudience, psychic practices etc. I just want to be closer to God, become a better person and more peaceful inside. That's when I stumbled across an old book I ordered a long time ago, that I don't think I was ready for yet.

It's called A Search for God (Books 1 & 2) by Edgar Cayce. I don't think its actually by Cayce himself, but students of his who essentially created 24 lessons based on his writings. This book is everything I have been searching and asking for. Every lesson feels highly inspiring and I walk away feeling more at peace even just by reading the book. I always appreciated the monograph systems of the different Rosicrucian Orders, and I like that this is sort of a similar lesson plan style as well. It's not exactly systematic and doesn't need to be followed in a particular order, but I just personally like how its structured.

It's very Christ centered so I don't think everyone will love it, but I will say its definitely not ultra orthodox. Cayce taught karma and reincarnation, so I think a lot of people will feel right at home. It also speaks a lot about "Christ Consciousness" and that idea has sort of always resonated with me.

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" - Philippians 2:5

All in all, I just wanted to share this book with everyone especially for those who are looking for more mystical and less occult style teachings, and are just trying to be closer to God and become a better person.

Let me know what you guys think if any of you have read it, or are willing to check it out!

EDIT: Wanted to make an edit for a list of the lesson or chapter titles in the book to get an idea of what the book is about, in case anyone is interested.

Meditation, Cooperation, Know Thyself, What Is My Ideal?, Faith, Virtue and Understanding, Fellowship, Patience, The Open Door, In His Presence, The Cross and the Crown, The Lord Thy God is One, Love, Opportunity, Day and Night, God the Father and His Manifestations on Earth, Desire, Destiny of the Mind/Body/Soul, Glory, Knowledge, Wisdom, Happiness, Spirit and one last Meditation.

How to join the Rosicrucians

Hello brethren!
I joined the Scottish rite locally and then into the knights of saint Andrews . I was at a meeting once and a guy I know said he was a Rosicrucian . He said that I can’t just join the group , I need to be invited . My question is - what is the best way to get recognized to get invited in the order ? I’m a huge fan of Hermes and his teachings and have a great desire to go further . Any opinions or advise would be appreciated .

Deleuzian experimental film and organ-harp-piano fantasia

Hi there,

I’m a harpist-pianist-composer/academic in the philosophical-esoteric milieu, about to finish my doctorate. I’ve written about Deleuze a lot in my doctorate and have some published papers on his ideas. So I created an organ-harp-piano music video that is also an experimental film that incorporates Deleuzian ideas. It’s an original philosophical manifesto, and if you are familiar with Deleuze’s ideas, particularly the Difference and Repetition stuff, you’ll notice how I both employ Deleuze’s ideas and transform them.

It's about an oneiric musical language of spiritual hieroglyphs.  And I also combine ideas from Novalis (I’m probably most known as a Novalis scholar in the academic world currently), Schelling, Giordano Bruno, Rudolf Steiner, Boehme, Walter Benjamin (and Kabbalah), also the work of Dianna Reed Slattery.

No AI was used in the making of this song, video, or philosophical text; it is 100% human-created art.

I also created a lot of hand-made animations for it, mainly ancient Egyptian and alchemical motifs.
Hope you enjoy!!!!

Looking for in-person hermetic study groups or lodges - Philadelphia area or online

I've been studying hermeticism on my own for a while now and I'm at a point where I really want to practice with other people in person or at least surround myself with others who practice. There's only so far you can get reading and working alone. Specifically looking for a study circle, lodge, or working group that meets regularly. I want to focus on traditional hermeticism; the divine mind, theurgy, alchemy as spiritual practice, not just pop occultism. I've looked into the FR, some Rosicrucian orders, and Golden Dawn lineage groups, but I'm honestly not sure which direction makes sense without actually meeting people first.

If you're part of something or know of any groups, even a small informal one. DM me or comment on this post. Also interested in hearing what paths people have found most useful for actual practice vs just theory.

Ritual Mystery

This book by M.W. Blackden is not a script for a specific ritual. Its more like an advanced study meant to explain the deep, spiritual themes of the Second Order Grades, where an initiate's soul is symbolically weighed and purified. Your thoughts...
