Hi!!! i thought I'd share some stuff from custom mode; Specifically about the protag of my mode, Rie Arakawa!

her backstory is still a WIP, but is inspired by callimaras rewrite of ayano in her yansim rewrite series! Basically in this custom mode universe [which leans into fantasy aspects rather than realism]; The yandere condition is a medically unrecognized and rare condition that young girls have, causing them to be violent and manipulative towards other people, finding a lover makes this condition much worse.

Rie, who her parents hoped could be the "Ideal Japanese woman" was unfortunate enough to develop this condition, due to the shame of having an unfit daughter and unable to figure out her condition; they left her at a psychiatric ward. sometime after the abandonment, she left on her own accord and tried to live a normal life, but ended up fixating on the senpai of this custom mode. So she must contain the image of a regular highschool girl while trying to win the heart of her senpai!

Like i said, still a massive wip, I don't want to take this small project too seriously so im just writing for fun, However, her design is currently a placeholder as i would like to change it into something more suitable sometime soon, and i need suggestions on what might fit her design better than the one i have now!

RULES!

1. Hairstyles, it can be a hair from yanchans debug hair list, a students hair or a removed [but still in the games files] hair, As long as i am able to texture it! however NO custom unity 3d hair.
2. Nothing complex or unfitting on the player [Ex: Jewelry, Gyaru themed makeup, goth accessories, you know i hope!]
3. Color schemes for the hair and eyes [and perhaps whatever accessories that i DO allow] are also much appreciated! and if you do have any ideas, please provide an image example!
4. just keep it simple! Thank you!

I decided to mess around with the custom mode in yansim alongside modding it to enhance the experience, im happy with how he looks! some changes need to be made though...

Im unsure about the look of my protag, I want to change it, just unsure how she should look though...

Horuda puresu—> Izumi Uchida

Kuu Dere—> Katie Brown

Sakyu Basu—> Katsumi Fujimoto

Inkyu Basu—> Chiaki Fujimoto

Kyuji Konagawa —> Kenji Shimizu

Otohiko Meichi—> Kiyotaka Abe

Hazu Kashibuchi—> Hajime Katō

Toga Tabara—> Takahiro Nagase

Nothing much can be said about my version of Hajime/Hazu and Takahiro/Toga as they are very similar except for more detail in their bios.

Izumi/Horuda and Katie/Kuu are very close in my rewrite, giving them more depth as characters. As they are both seen together.

And a crucial difference with my Horuda is even though she can still be driven to murder, it would be a more realistic exaltation than just simply showing her a picture of someone talking to her bully. The protag would have to provide more solid proof (such as an audio recording) and further decrease her reputation for Izumi to snap.

Kuu Dere has the biggest revamp as her character is arguably the weakest in Yan Sim. Instead of literally just being a “Kuu dere“ with no personality of her own. My Kuu Dere/Katie is a US exchange student with few friends. Giving her more depth as she’s adjusting to her new environment and anxious about attending Akademi.

Kenji/Kyuji also has a bit of a personality change. As I wanted him to be written as more compatible with my Osana/Hana. Rather than a surface level relationship. I know some relationships can be like that but for Hana to shift interest from her childhood best friend to someone she only knows in passing, he needs to share at least some of her interests/parts of her personality.

Otohiko has a bigger rewrite as I made him less of a gay stereotype.

My main grip with Otohiko is he’s described mainly by his faults and oddities which makes him just seem like a mean-spirited stereotype. (Not that Yandev intended this, i don’t think he really put a lot of thought into these background characters) So I changed that.

Scrapping his over-the-top clumsiness and mention of his “feminine mannerisms”. Though I do give him a pink scarf, to show he may still enjoy aspects of femininity without it being his whole character. (not that pink is inherently feminine).

Basu Sisters Overhaul:

Simply put, I don’t like the Basu Sisters and they wouldn’t fit my grounded interpretation of Yan Sim. So I turned them into positive interpretations of Gyarus instead! Since in OG Yan Sim Gyarus are portrayed as the harmful bully stereotype.

The existence of a flexible dresscode is also addressed through Katsumi and Chiaki. The catch mentioned being restrictions on Students that behave inappropriately or have low grades.

I know people like the Basu Sisters but this is my rewrite! So please respect that <3

I saw this art on tiktok, and it was really cute! I also noticed that there was also other characters that were drawn but was cut out unfortunately. I tried researching for the artist but I couldn't find them:( is it okay if you guys help me find the artist?

Since his outfit was updated in the official artwork I figured I’d make this new model just gotta figure out how to fix the face textures then he’ll be finished then I’m making Ryoba’s grandfather once I find the right hair model

Info-Chan—> Kiyomi Itō (Kei)

Info-chan extensive overhaul: 

In my rewrite, Info-chan is a non binary student and instead of being a perverted creep. They use their online presence and use it to manipulate and blackmail local criminals and their past bullies. Essentially a morally grey vigilante.  

They use Ayano/Akari to gather blackmail about their chosen targets. 

NOT PANTIE SHOTS EW. 

They are also less like a tutorial robot, giving advice but not extensive guides to the point it becomes unrealistic. They reward her with things that can help her eliminate her rivals in exchange for blackmail. 

The reason they are talking to Akari is quite clear. 

They are gathering information in hopes to expose her as a creepy stalker. Not a murderer (as they don’t know that). 

However, if Akari uses their services often and engages with them. They will discover her darker impulses and instead of just exposing Akari to the school, they will continue to “help” in order to build up evidence for a police investigation.

Kei/InfoChan: 17

I believe I have already posted this either 2-3 years ago but I'm uploading this again as a sort of "Throwback Tuesday" kind of thing because I just remembered this, plus don't know how many new people in this sub aren't aware of this.

For context this comes from one of his (Deleted) video where he talked about emails and volunteers, this was one of the first instances where Alex waged his war with e-mails and pin the blame on them as to why development of the game was taking a long time, can't remember if this was in the part 1 or the part 2 (Where this segment comes from) video but in them he kept turning down suggestions to better handle his email influx and these suggestions were.

- Having two separate email accounts, one strictly for volunteers and the other for community management. He turned this down because he did not want to manage two different emails. (Even though it's pretty normal to have a personal and a business email if you are managing a project like this.)

- Have an assistant manage his emails while he focuses on the game. He turned this down because he didn't want to explain to someone how to do the job.

- Have a forum for volunteers. He turned this down because he didn't want to manage a forum. (This is the only one where I can kind of understand turning down.)

After turning those down he would lament on how "life was so easy for him" and "where did I go wrong?", all over emails.

I imagine her as the riches girl in school and leader if the bullies and that pisses off musume and maybe you can ruin Mida’s reputation and get on Musume’s good side or vice versa and befriend your rival. Mida has been on vacation with her parents out of the country until her week and heard the rumors of senpai being one of the top guys to try dating in school or something and takes it as a challenge to be with him.
