S25 Ultra battery life is driving me insane 3-4 hrs SOT and 9hrs of total including standby. Please help me figure out what's wrong.

https://preview.redd.it/7chcldc0igbh1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a07ccc327da0f79e489b9b70249ff6c7ff03bdd

I've had my S25 Ultra for almost a year now, and the battery life has become absolutely horrendous.

I'm barely getting 3–4 hours of screen-on time, and the phone lasts only around 9 hours total, including standby. This is with normal day-to-day usage (browsing, messaging, social media, emails), not gaming or heavy video recording.

I've tried pretty much every troubleshooting step I could find:

  • Put unnecessary apps into Sleep/Deep Sleep.
  • Turned off Always On Display.
  • Turned off Battery Protection.
  • Checked battery usage for obvious rogue apps.
  • Updated to One UI 8.5.
  • Cleared cache after updates.
  • Device Care says the battery health is Good.

Despite all that, nothing has improved.

At this point, I feel like something is draining the battery in the background, but I just can't figure out what it is. It's honestly driving me nuts.

How do I actually identify the culprit? Is there a way to see what's causing excessive drain beyond the basic battery usage page? Are there any Samsung diagnostics, ADB commands, or third-party apps that can pinpoint the issue?

Could this be:

  • A rogue system service?
  • Poor cellular signal?
  • Google Play Services?
  • A corrupted app after updating to One UI 8.5?
  • A hardware issue, even though Device Care reports the battery health as Good?

If you've had this happen, what was the actual cause, and how did you fix it?

I'm happy to post screenshots of my battery usage, app list, or any diagnostic screens if that helps. I just want to get to the bottom of this because 3–4 hours of SOT and only ~9 hours total battery life on an S25 Ultra is nowhere near normal.

Finally upgraded from the S20 FE 5G to the S25 Ultra! 🎉

Today is a bittersweet day.

After 4.5 years, I'm saying goodbye to my Galaxy S20 FE 5G—my first Samsung phone and my first Snapdragon-powered Samsung device. It served me incredibly well all these years without even needing a battery replacement.

Instead of selling it, I'm passing it on to my dad. He has been using a Redmi Note 7 Pro, which had become quite slow over the years (I even installed a custom ROM on it to keep it usable). From today, he'll be using his first Samsung smartphone, and I'm really happy this phone gets a second life with him.

As for me, after working for a year and saving from my salary, I finally bought my dream phone—the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

It still doesn't feel real. Ever since the Galaxy Note10 era, I've wanted Samsung's top flagship. I used to watch countless videos and think, "Maybe one day." That day has finally come.

The S20 FE will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️

How to use gallery instead of google photos

All of my apps use Google photos, Google photos only has 15gb of storage where my phone has 256gb. I want to use my phone gallery when sending or uploading photos but can't figure out how make it use gallery not google photos.

Quick Tip: How to instantly check Samsung Galaxy pre-activation status

Hi everyone,

If you just bought a new Samsung phone and want to make sure it wasn't pre-activated, here is the fastest way to check right out of the box.

Navigate to:

Settings → About Phone → Samsung Care+, check if you see 30 days left.

Because Samsung offers a strict 30-day window to opt into Care+ from the exact moment a device is first turned on, seeing "30 days left to sign up" confirms it's a completely fresh activation. If it was pre-activated earlier, that countdown timer would be lower.

I am very old samsung user, using since 2013 - S4. But I got to know it today 😅.

What other shortcuts do you use to double-check official warranty or activation dates? Let's share in the comments!

Anyone rocking the S25 Ultra caseless? How's the daily experience?

Just like the title says. I'm really tempted to ditch the case on my S25 Ultra because the bare design is gorgeous and the premium feel in hand is just unmatched. But, I'm definitely a bit paranoid about daily wear and tear or accidental drops.

For those of you going completely caseless, I’d love to hear your experiences

S25 Ultra owners, how is your experience with your device so far? I have just ordered mine, what should I expect from it? Hearing a lot of bad reviews lately and kind of concerned about them. Need your feedback

Gracias .

Precios de los celulares:

Pixel: 800$
iPhone : 800$
Samsung: 700$

Camera Quality

I used to like samsung a lot back in the day and till 2024 i used to own a samsung budget phone the samsung m21 then switched to iphone 14,rn using iphone 15pro.
I was considering the s25 ultra but i checked its camera in a nearby store, iphone camera crushes it in terms of the pleasing to the eye photo and in the video as well as selfie. samsung photos look so not pleasing and dull especially the selfie camera. Additionally my friend used to own s23 and after software updates the camera quality in his phone is complete trash, worse than a $200 phone.

I was planning one more thing if i get the s25 ultra by any chance i will not update the software for a long time like 5 years because i don’t want my camera quality to degrade after paying a good sum on a phone and i want to use it for 4-6 years.

I prefer the iPhone photos personally.

Please share your opinions on the s25 ultra camera

Edit: Why so much hate, I just pointed out my points and people here are defending samsung like that Samsung is owned by their father, as a consumer i want best and i don’t want to settle down for anything less if i am spending $1000 on a phone

What is my chance of running this phone for 10 years?

I have 105 cycles during my first 191 days of use, which I think is very decent and will preserve the battery fairly well. It don't use it in extreme heat or other poor conditions, so I wonder how possible is to use this beast for the next decade (even with the original battery)

Edit: my idea also come from my old A5, which is roughly 9 years old and still runs. I hope the quality difference between these 2 phones will make my S25U last the same and have a better performance

I tested Samsung Log on the Galaxy S25 Ultra during New Zealand's ANZAC Day

I tested Samsung Log on the Galaxy S25 Ultra while filming New Zealand's ANZAC Day, and I was genuinely surprised by how cinematic the footage turned out.

I shot everything using the Blackmagic Camera app at 24 fps for more natural motion blur and used Open Gate to capture the full sensor for the best image quality.

I also think the early morning sunrise lighting really helped create a more cinematic look. The footage was graded from Samsung Log, and I'm really happy with the results.

What do you think of the video? I'd love to hear your thoughts or any feedback!

How do we know if we have an unlocked s25 ultra?

I purchased on this 25 ultra from swappa and the seller swears that he bought it from Verizon wireless however when the phone turns on there is no Verizon wireless boot-up screen and in about phone The model name is SM-S938U1

Routines??!!

Hey folks, I came yesterday across a comment on this subreddit, talking about knowing what apps are running on background like system apps and other that the "battery usage" in settings don't show, basically u can see it in the developer options, and what I found is the routing app is running like 40 hrs (since the auto reboot) and I just go and stopped all my routines and stop from playing in the background, and now I feel the battery life is better than before like I have to charge the phone twice a day and now its last longer till I sleep.

I don't know if it's the problem or not but can u try it and till if it's make any difference???

Locked 2nd hand S25U

Hello guys, I live in Jordan and I bought a 2nd (or idk how many hands were before me) s25 ultra

The buyer didn't tell me it was locked and in my surprise it was

I'm trying my best not crash out and I wanna know if there is a way to unlock it before returning it to the buyer because I think I got scammed

I bought it for 600jd (idk how much usd is that) but it's almost the same price as any 2nd hand s25 ultra

I bought it because it's the only black one available

So guys any recommendations on how to unlock it?

What if it was stolen or I can't reach out to the original owner

Or the owner didn't fully pay the phone

I'm so confused because I never had an issue like that or any one my friend or family

So please help me out on how I can unlock it because non of my Sim cards is working

Keep it or Cancel S25 ultra

Just order S25 ultra for this price - should I keep or any better deals than this ??

u/raykakade — 2 days ago

What is this 😬 ?

I mostly keep every feature on,

I like to use the fullest of the phone.

I use mostly on WiFi, 5G sometimes when not connected to WiFi, I expect at least 7 hours of SOT.

I reset my phone 3 days ago and now this happens.

Before resetting, I was getting around 6 hours for 80% drain, I guess.
