It was a great final and you were unfortunate on the day, but your fans were absolutely incredible.

I have followed Villa through highs and many lows, such as being relegated 10 years and struggling to return to the top flight. Not because I had to, but for the love of following the club.

Your fans are the same in this sense; even at 3-0 down you continued to cheer. I also met many amazing Freiburg fans out here in Instanbul and will be following the club more closely from now on. Football is not about winning, but about the love of our clubs, the love of football and the memories made along the journey

Firstly let me declare that I am an Aston Villa fan and was privileged to attend the final last night in Istanbul.

Although the game didn't go your way, I hope that the disappointment doesn't last too long and you continue to thrive & give the more glamorous clubs in the Bundersliga a fright.

May I also say that Freiburg fans are the best and a lot of AV fans forums are commenting on how friendly & nice to engage with you all were. Even though you were outnumbered, you continued to sing and stayed behind to watch the presentations although your disappointment must have been immense.

In short, you and your club are a credit to the Bundersliga...

Servus, da leider gestern Abend meine Zugverbindung so dolle Verspätung hatte, hab ich leider meinen Flug nach Istanbul verpasst.. deshalb würd ich meine Karte evtl. an jemanden geben der schon vor Ort ist, aber noch keine Karte hat.
