So i started reading SSS Class Revival hunter after seeing some recommendations on reddit, and it was one of the most popular on r/manhwa too and some people were comparing it to Re;Zero and saying it has best written romance and amazing story in recent Manhwa, but after i started reading it, rn i am around ch112 and i get bored and dropped it, people were saying that Gongja suffers and has insane character development but when i read it, it wasn't like this here are reasons i found it boring and another OP manhwa

# 1. The 4,000 Deaths & Lack of PTSD

In the very first chapter the manhwa started, showing us that how jealous Gong-ja was of FIame emperor. Later, he get his skill, but ends up killed by him right after, cuz of that he gets his skill "The Time Traveler's Clock" after that he killed himself over 4k+ times so he can get back in time and kill FIame emperor, here my first take comes like the times he killed himself at first is so ridiculously high that it don't even look like its possible and he did it cuz of petty emotions like jealousy, even with noble goal killing yourself so many times is impossible but he did it cuz he envied FIame emperor? ik that he also did it cuz FIame emperor was selfish guy and killed innocent people but still the main reason was his jealousy, even if we buy this one the author just showed us that he somehow don't have any PTSD, Trauma, Or any nightmares after killing himself so many times even if he get used to death somehow? which is already ridiculous IMO how the hell he didn't get any PTSD? killing yourself over 4k times will give us trauma and we won't even remember why we killed ourself so many times in first place let alone think of revenge.

# 2. The Lack of Stakes

Later when he cleared Floor 10th all by himself by using his power and seeing tragedy of that floor boss, he sympathize with her and all, releasing her from that floor. every guild start scouting him but there was not even a single person who was jealous or even suspicious of him? like iirc they were trying to clear this floor for over 10yrs, all those people were called Top Hunters and lets be real, you don't become Top hunter just by being nice and kind, even if there are some, there should be atleast one person who get jealous of him or anything? people also praise that SSS class revival has so many good side characters and they matters in later arc but there wasn't anyone who was jealous of him or even trying to surpass him, those guys had zero ego, they just accepted gongja and start simping for him, letting him do all the work in nxt floor boss's fight

Later, Gongja fought Demon King of the 11th Floor, there he made bet with Sword emperor that he will clear this stage within 100 deaths and as we saw he keep trying again and again as the manhwa showed, and every conversation between his comrades like with Black Witch, in all deaths she said the same stuff word by word. One of my other complain is that demon king didn't adapt to gongja attacks either but if i think that demon king is floor boss by tower and is like video game character? then it might be justified that why even after 99 tries the demon king didn't adapt but what about Marcus and black witch, not even once they said anything different or tried to help him...they were same in all 99 deaths? they didn't see that gongja knows so much about demon king attack patterns?

Even though in Rezero there are times when other character don't ask how Subaru know so much about enemy, but it also bcuz they have years of trust for Subaru which gongja don't, atleast not so early when he just met them & also in Rezero when Subaru uses RbD, Rem,Emilia, & other notice how his expression change, even if subaru says the exact same things as before, the character react differently cuz of that the world feels alive and not just revolve around Subaru and helping him.

Also in this fight we saw gongja getting decapitated by demon king but what was his rxn? he was literally smiling every damn time shown in manhwa, not even once he felt frustrated about losing to same boss 99 times, the same guy who was shown as emotionally unstable and killed himself thousands of times cuz of petty emotion like jealousy but now somehow he is literal saint who don't feel anything? even if he somehow get used to death, what about pain of getting decapitated and many other way he died, not even once he was shown in suffering instead every damn time he woke up smiling and choosing new skill.

#3. Murim arc

SSS class revival hunter is praised for Murim arc, but i really don't like this arc either, we saw how gongja and others get in the other world ending, he met his mentor Heavenly demon there and decided to cure that disease, also becoming her disciple. My complaint about this arc is that everytime he gets stuck with the challenge she gave him, he just kills himself to pass that like learning starvation and all that also ik that killing himself was only option at that moment and i agree with it cuz there was something like 11days before world ends, i dont mind this but whenever he killed himself, he never once feel sad or regretted that his mentor who he cares about so much will forget everything about him? he just treat them like video game character? wasn't gongja supposed to be emotional guy cuz he heal trauma of floor bosses but when it comes to his mentor, never once he thought of the version of her dying forever and she won't remember about him. IGI that it was necessary and i am not saying he shouldn't kill himself to turn back time cuz world ends in few days but he should've atleast show some regret but he didn't. Also in this arc they used so many abstract words during starvation arc and fight bw heavenly demon and sword emperor, it might be just my preference but i really hated the writer for using so many abstract words and long paragraph just so you feel like its philosophical, it might be for some but for me it wasn't.

#4. Romance Arc

Now on romance Arc when he finally met Raviel Ivansia, when he first met her and she told him that she can regress to, i really think that moment should be more emotional cuz as writer wanted to tell us that those two people suffers so much and before meeting each other they had no one who can understand their pain, but what those two did? they started using abstract words again and talking about story, then later she fell for him cuz he is only one who can understand her and something like that reason. I never understand how she fell for him, gongja falling for her still make some sense that she was beautiful and was also flirting with him but didn't Raviel heart was locked inside somewhere, i don't really remember how he freed her heart and she was able to love him instead of prince, then it shows us how those two dies together, i really don't feel like they were some soulmates for this reason alone like it was just both suddenly becoming crazy for each other and dying together. Writer want us to think that they are soulmates, but for me it didn't look that way and i didn't loved this arc either.

# 5. The Re:Zero Comparison

Comparing it to Re:Zero really is crazy like there are some similar moments in SSS class revival how Gong-ja reacted when he found someone to share his secret and how Subaru did.

when Subaru was finally able to say about RbD to Echidna in Witch's Tea Party, this was one of most emotional moment of S2, we saw how much subaru was actually suffering and wanted to tell someone about what he is going through and when he finally did? he started ugly crying in front of Echidna, she also comforted her. That's how a person who actually suffers actual truama and is going through Hell, dying again and again... react when he finally get to take it off his chest, that's what i think. I do know SSS revival is also fantasy but still as shown in early chapter, Gongja was emotionally unstable, he should've had some breakdown similar when he finally told Raviel about his regression instead we get gongja being nonchalant about it and flirting with her, its not even character development cuz i really don't see when he had such Incredible growth, the writer just changed gongja entire personality so he can be Ideal Hunter who saves everyone and clears floor while looking awesome.

In Re:Zero, there are actual stakes, mysteries, actual trauma and incredible character growth for multiple characters like Emilia, Subaru, Julius & others.

in r/manhwa i saw so many people say that this is as good as Re:Zero, but when Subaru dies most of times like great rabbit death, or by puck, killing himself to save rem from getting attacked by witch cult, eaten alive by his loyal dragon Patrasche in S4, every time he woke up terrified, hyperventilating, feeling the phantom pain cuz his body still remember dying, neither he get used to death or used to pain cuz its impossible no matter how much of psychopath you are.

Subaru also hates killing himself cuz he treasure the specific versions of Emilia, Rem, Ram, Beako, he only uses it when its last choice like when he had no choice but to kill himself when rem and Crusch was attacked by Sin Arcbishop of Greed & Gluttony and ate Rem memories and her name, putting her into coma, after all that and so many soldiers died, Subaru decided to take his life and even at that time he was trembling, shaking, and hyperventilating cuz even if he knows that he will RbD, the pain and fear was real unlike Gongja who smiles while doing allat. Even after all that he couldn't save Rem, telling us that there are actual stakes and if checkpoint moved after one of their death, Subaru can't just fix it.

Emilia growth was incredible, in S2, how she was emotionally dependent on Subaru but in current S4 when Subaru was breaking down, losing himself instead of breaking down, she healed his soul giving us her 'Return from Zero' Moment.

Those are most of the reasons, why i didn't liked SSS Class revival and confused about why it's glazed so much on reddit as PEAK Fiction compared by Re:Zero, ORV and others.
