Future Symbiote Arc
Tom Holland Symbiote Arc
Since the next time we are seeing Tom Hollands Spider-Man will be in Secret Wars, could we potentially be seeing the black suit arrive during said film much akin to its origin in the 80s?
And that got me thinking about how we could see a more fresh take on the black suit storyline, in that it follows the very first symbiote storyline much more closely than any adaptation following the 90s animated show. Where we see the pair become almost in a relationship and that it lasts longer than a couple of days. Possibly have Peter don the costume for 6 months or so. We could see that the symbiote actually loves being a hero, and genuinely does make Peter's life better, instead of doing the classic makes him moody. And when Peter eventually learns that its an alien, Peter can have a genuine moral debate of although it helps him, could it be dangerous to him (possibly his new evolved powers dont fully agree with) and because of this he removes it, but instead of making the symbiote evil the whole time, it just feels betrayed.
Now I haven't gone much further into ideas but I just think after Insomniacs SM2 game and seeing the same storyline countless times basically told the same way, it could be a slightly more fresh take on the arc.
Please let me know what everyone thinks of this idea, ranging from if its terrible all the way to if you fully agree :)
Make Hypothetical Scenario about What if NYC had Tough-On-Crime Mayor and/or Governor in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, how it could impacted Jean Grey?
Thoughts From 2 Outsiders Seeing Spiderman Brand New Day
I've seen the first 3 Spiderman movies. I've seen the 90s cartoon and the infamous 60s cartoon.
I saw the movie with my father who read the comics, probably the ones from the 60s and 70s and who's late Super Hero movie was probably from the 1990s.
Both of us saw the movie less tan hour ago. And both of us reached the conclusion that we are probably never going to see another Marvel movie for quite some time.
My issues are two parts but they are related: first the movie just seems to expect me to know a bunch of information. I figured with a title like "Brand New Day" this would be at least somewhat approachable for someone who hasn't been keeping up with Marvel movies. It doesn't matter that I already knew who Bruce Branner, Frank Castle, and Jean Grey is. These are no the iterations I am familiar. The Frank Castle I know lives in a universe without Super Heroes. The Bruce Branner myself and my father has a secret identity. So these characters being here are just confusing alternative versions that are never properly introduced. Rather than trying to focus on the drama or spectacle my brain is just trying to peace together what is going on who is in this universe and what is happening," And this brings me to next issue, that even if I go through the work of inferring who these people, what their goals are, how they feel about what's happening, what they know or dont know, what happened off screen, it doesn't make the movie much better. When I did figure some things out, or come already knowing, it didn't make me care about the characters or world. I don't think the complex backstory was ever supposed to accomplish that. They are just expecting me to care because it's a familiar IP.
Do I care about New York and the people in it. Well they never gave me a much of a reason, that would normally happen by having the main character interact with common people and seeing how they are pleasant people. It also didn't help how unphotogenic the civilians were: the fat asian kid and the ugly black crone. Do I care about Mary Jane? She is not at all pleasing to look at and incredible annoying. Peter Park seems to care about her but all the reasons for this are given in a prior movie.. Do I care about Hulk or Punisher? No. Do I care about Jean Grey? Well I saw her almost kill several incident civilians purely to hurt Peter's feelings. And than during the last 20 minutes her tragic back story drops and 1 scene later, before I have time to dwell on who is in the right, she is threatening to kill the entire city. Am I really supposed to care that Frank might shoot this crappy version of Carrie White?
Overall the film just seemed to want to cram as many cameos, references, cross-overs, and advertisements for other movies in it before running to the next action scene (half of which are filler that exist purely to pad things). Even if I wasn't asking "Who are these characters?" I was asking
"Why should I care about the drama". No reason to care about the drama means I don't care if the good guy can win the race against, win the fight, solve the mystery, or talk down the villain.
My father's review was simpler," I was thinking about just falling asleep in the theatre."
Make of this what you will.
About the Tobey Maguire' Spider-Man novelizations
I personally haven't read much suplementary material other than a few comics that retell the story of the movies. But I recently stumbled into a video of someone saying Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man is still the strongest in the movies. I don't really wanna delve into the powerscaling side of this, but most evidence used in said video used material outside of the main movies to prove their point. Examples go from things such as Tobey's spider sense apparently warning him that Norman was dangerous even before they even knew each other's secret identities(something the movie never showed happening) and that Spider-Man, on their first fight, would have ripped Green Goblin's head off with his web had he not been using his helmet. Like... What??? This is so absurd that I couldn't help but question how canon this stuff is.
Personally I think "canon" is a overrated concept, and I don't really think this stuff was even considered on the final product(the movie, in this case). It's cool to see this side of the story but I can't help but see this as a completely different iteration of the same character.
What do y'all think about any of this?
Tobey Maguire Is Gonna Fight Wolverine & Deadpool
This is not AI, this is actual leaked media from the movie. Rumours also suggest he might fight alongside otto and osborn
Spider-man going toe to toe in MCU
I really want to see is a full-on fight to exhaustion — like the final Green Goblin vs. Spider-Man showdown, or how the Goku vs. Frieza fight ended.
So far, his only fight like that is the hallway battle against Goblin, and Goblin won that one. The next time they fought, Spidey beat him easily.
Every other big fight is either a group brawl, a fight against an illusion, or a chase against someone who keeps flying away. I want to see Spider-Man go toe-to-toe — exhausted, mask torn up, on the brink of death. Brand New Day had that energy with the Hand fight, but it wasn’t one-on-one.
In any media, which Peter Parker has a personality most like yours, and which one do you relate to the most?
I'm referring to any media. Any comic, movie, game, animated series, etc. Which one is "literally me as a superhero" (Can even be the old Spider-Man japanese live-action lmao)
I feel more relate to "Peter B. Parker" from Into The SpiderVerse (veeeery related). Specially when he was talking about how is life during his first scene (which is funny because I do feel relate to Jake Johnson character from New Girl too lol)
What about you?
Spiderman 3 theory
Hey guys my theory for spiderman 3 will be it has two story lines half goblin and carnage since it's the same method they use for the two games like sp1 mr negative one story and otto in sp2 kraven and venom so sp3 goblin with side villains like chameleon otto and carnage along with venom would be pure madness like in the spiderman unlimited series scorpion died rhino died mr negative no more well he turned good though electro meh vulture meh so they should bring some new villains chameleon would be nice Mysterio was a side quest done by miles.but handling with goblin himself peter might get his hands full oh I forgot fisk . But the question for me is how will they open the game like sp1 fisk tower mission in 2 sandman so with 3 who can be the opening villain also peter took a break so will he continue his break for first few hrs and come back because miles couldn't handle goblin and otto together? Damn they should make atleast 25-30 hrs just for the story. Adding side missions should be atleast 50-60
What went wrong in The Amazing Spiderman, Spiderman 3, and The Amazing Spiderman 2?
I've heard these 3 generally being the worst of the bunch so far. What led to such low ratings? I think it was the writing, but what specifically?
At this point, just give the Raimi Spider-Man games license to a game publisher again
I absolutely love the Raimi Spider-Man universe, and I just watched a video about the canceled Spider-Man 4 game. Obviously, the game never happened because the movie itself got canceled, but apparently Spider-Man 4 was supposed to be published by Radical Entertainment, the same studio behind Prototype.
And honestly, some of the beta concepts for the game look lowkey really cool.
Now that we’ve had genuinely great swinging physics in Spider-Man games since 2018 thanks to Insomniac, and they made it even better in 2023, I genuinely think the best move would be to just give the Raimi Spider-Man game license to a good game publisher.
Because if we’re probably never getting another movie with Tobey, MJ, and the rest of the Raimi cast, at least give us a game.
And I honestly think it could be a massive success. You already have some of the scrapped concepts from Spider-Man 4, like Vulture and his daughter, which could give you a pretty interesting plot for Peter.
Marvel should make a "Toei Universe" based on Japanese Spider-Man
We all know Toei’s 1978 Spider-Man gave Spider-Man a giant robot, Leopardon.
But what if the Toei-Marvel partnership had never ended?
Imagine an alternate history where Toei kept adapting Marvel heroes throughout the late ’70s and ’80s — not as faithful adaptations, but the same way they adapted Spider-Man: completely reimagined through Japanese tokusatsu.
What would a 1979 Toei Captain America look like?
Would Iron Man become a Metal Hero-style show in the ’80s?
Would Hulk fight giant monsters?
Would the Avengers have ridiculous team poses and combination attacks?
And eventually, Marvel could treat all of these fictional shows as one alternate “Toei Universe,” with the original Japanese Spider-Man as its starting point.
It could work as a comic first, without affecting the main Marvel universe at all. Basically: pretend the 1978 Spider-Man wasn’t the end of the Marvel/Toei experiment, but the beginning.
I’d genuinely love to see Marvel do something like this.
What Marvel character would you want to see get the full old-school Toei treatment?
Question about Spiderman 3 movie ending
In Spiderman 3, Spiderman separates Eddie and Venom.
Spiderman throws a bomb at Venom, but Eddie jumps in, presumably to save Venom.
Why?
What would you want to see out of another Tom Holland trilogy?
Personally I’d like to see a symbiote saga, ultimately leading to knull being the next big MCU villain. But even without knull I don’t think you can tell that story in just one movie. Similar to how Spider-Man 3 did a bad job showcasing Eddie and Venom. They might even need to give venom a new mcu movie (full recast from tom hardy) so the symbiote could be introduced more naturally.
Maybe also showcase some more street level characters in the first movie. Possibly Black Cat and Kingpin, with Peter teaming up with daredevil finally. They could even connect the X-men and or fantastic four to the symbiote by having either Reed or Beast be researching it.
I’m not entirely sure how any of that would pan out for the MCU but I thought it would be an interesting idea for them to explore. Before they introduce Miles in probably the last of Tom’s movies. It would make it a full circle moment to homecoming while also allowing the prowler to return.
What do you think of this suit now?
I remember loving this suit and even using it all the time in the games but after brand new days, this suit looks weird now
I still like it but not in the same way as before
Why did Peter wear his webshooters in Venice during the attack of the Water Elemental?
That is a question that just crossed my mind. In Far From Home, Peter originally wanted to tale a break from his hero work, while on his class trip, since he wanted to get closer with MJ. He originally even wanted to keep his suit at home in New York, only for May to pack it for him anyways. However, while he still got the suit in his luggage, it was more than clear that he didn't plan on wearing it or becoming active as Spider-Man in Europe... So why did he have his webshooters with him during the "attack of the Water Elemental"? If he wanted to spend the class trip getting closer to MJ and just being Peter Parker, then he had no real reason to wear his webshooters. Up until Nick Fury hijacked the class trip, he wouldn't even had suspected that he would need them.
Why is Everyone Supporting Tobey?
There have been unconfirmed leaks about Doomsday where the X-men will destroy Tobey Maguire's spiderman Universe. And every single time a post is made about that. Every single comment is about How they will leave the theater if Tobey loses or how EVERYONE and their mother is supporting Tobey, and how nobody is supporting The X-men, and how they won't ever forgive the X-men if Tobey loses.
And my only question is, Why? I mean, I started watching Marvel in 2017 when the news was that Infinity war was coming out Next year. And I never bothered to watch the Non-canon material. Then the news about how big Doomsday was gonna be came out, and I watched all of the Other Non-MCU material. Today I finished everything. Including all of the original X-men Movies, and I finished all 3 Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies just a few days ago. And I still don't understand why people are supporting Tobey. Because Honestly, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man is not that well written. Sure, Spider-Man 2 was a great movie but that's about it.
I personally believe that everything is about Nostalgia. And everything is a Popularity Contest. Spider-Man is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more popular than X-men. Sure, if it happens then it will be an unfortunate sight to see Tobey Lose everything, but it just doesn't sit right with me how everyone is talking about “leaving the theater” or “never forgiving the X-men” as if they are willingly destroying Tobey's universe. They are most probably saving their own Universe from the incursions.
