Honestly one of my fave pair of Salomon’s that I own and that XT-4 cushioning in the midsole hits different. Much more “squishy” than the XT-6 and Whisper models 😮💨

Hi all, has anyone else bought the Alpine X Ultra Mids and seen this sort of wear on their first walk? I was walking on quite flat terrain and I can't figure out what caused them to become damaged so quickly. Have contacted the Warranty department and they said there are no known defects with the boots.
The only thing I can think of is the upper metal shoe laces hooks could have caught this part of the boot, but have literally never seen this occur before. Bit stumped and annoyed this has occurred considering their price point.

I recently bought my first Salomon XT6’s. I’m usually between 38 and 39. I tried both 38 2/3 (US 7 women) and 39 1/3 (US 7.5 W) in the store and I didn’t feel much difference; there was the same room for toes but my heel was lifting itself a bit in the 39 1/3 so the sales assistant advised me to get the 38 2/3, which I did. But now that I try them on again at home, I feel like they are a bit narrow/oppressive. So I’m unsure if I should’ve gone with the 39 1/3. I wanted to go try them in store again but according to the website they are now sold out in most sizes. Is it normal that it feels like that at the beginning? Will it become a bit less tight once I break them in? Maybe I just need to get used to the fit? Thank you
so just bought the Salomon XT-6 as my everyday/go-to shoe. I have wide feet, so I went half a size up.
They felt mostly okay, but I’m still unsure because I know XT-6s are known to fit narrow. While trying them I didn't feel any discomfort but when I step down my forefoot area spreads out and becomes wider, but I’m wondering if it loosen up or adjust a bit over time.
Has anyone felt okay at first, but later started getting pain after long wear?
& Are they comfortable for all-day standing/walking long term?
I just joined this sub and was scrolling through the feed and just felt the need to say even I am annoyed with the legit check posts I love Salomon’s and I am tempted to buy off fb marketplace but choose to order off the legit site for obvious reasons I feel like if your gonna buy second hand why even get them legit checked 🤣 are you going to throw them away?
