Roller Derby Boot Camp Orientation August 30th!

Want to try something life-changing? Hidden City Roller Derby, North Country and Oceanside's local Roller Derby League for almost 20 years is hosting our Fall new skater orientation Sunday, August 30th at 5:00 PM at the MLK Park Roller Rink!

No experience required, even if you have never skated, we will teach you how. We even have some loaner gear for the first couple of weeks.

Modern derby isn’t your parent's staged 1970s TV wresting knock off, it is a real, full-contact sport played on roller skates. Building community and empowering players since 2008!

Come to our orientation where we will explain the gear, how our new skater program works, and how you can join this incredible community. Our spring camp was an absolute blast with an amazing group of new skaters. If you were on the fence then, don't miss another opportunity.

Plus, stay after orientation to watch our first practice after our August break to see what derby is all about!

Come roll with us! 🛼🛼🛼HCRD Por Vida!

Staircase Remodel

Hi all! We're planning to remodel our staircase and would love to hear from anyone who's recently done this.

A few questions:

  • Who did you use (contractor/company name)? Would you recommend them?
  • What was the total cost, and what did that include (materials, labor, railings, etc.)?
  • What kind of staircase did you have before vs. after (e.g., carpet to hardwood, open risers, new railings)?
  • How long did the project take from start to finish?
  • Any lessons learned or things you'd do differently?

Thanks in advance! I'm trying to get a sense of realistic pricing and find someone reliable in the area!
