Hey everyone! I’m a prospective international student planning to study in Italy (looking at Rome) starting 2027/28, and I’m trying to get a realistic picture of monthly living costs from people actually living it.

If you’re an international student studying in Italy (or Europe generally), would you mind sharing a rough breakdown of your monthly expenses? Specifically curious about:

**•	Rent/housing** (and whether it’s a dorm, shared flat, or studio)  
**•	Food/groceries** (and if you use a student canteen/mensa)  
**•	Transport** (public transit pass, etc.)  
**•	Bills** (utilities, phone, internet)  
**•	Misc/personal spending**

Also helpful: which city you’re in, and whether you’re getting any scholarship/stipend support (like DiSCo, EDiSU, ESU, etc.) that offsets costs.

Trying to sanity-check my own budget estimates before committing, so any real numbers — even rough ones — would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Sapienza gave me a codice fiscale (there’s one on the student ID thing on InfoStud) but do I need to go get an actual one when I go to Italy/at the Italian embassy in my city?

Hey guys.. I'm in a great confusion right now.. I have got admission from Tor Vergata Rome in MSc Management Engineering.. and my visa appointment date is 20-Aug.. but there is one issue, due to some reasons I could not apply for Lazio Disco Scholarship..

Is there any chance that I can get it now! Since the deadline has been passed..

how do you even apply to these affiliated student housing facilities like ELIS college for example asks for region of provenience and only lets you select provinces in Italy. Are they only for italians??

molti non lo conosceranno ma il professore è una figura mitologica della sapienza che insegna dal 99 basi di dati, a settembre preparerà il suo ultimo esame e poi andrà in pensione , io ho dato il suo esame a gennaio e sono stato uno degli ultimi fortunati ad aver seguito con lui il corso, un mito totale.

I accidentally paid the wrong application fee for La Sapienza and my application got rejected because of it 😭. I emailed them right away explaining everything and asked if I could just pay the correct fee, but they still haven’t replied.
Has this happened to anyone else? Do they usually answer eventually, or am I just cooked? 😭

My pre-enrollment still hasn't been finalized, I can't get a visa appointment, and I haven't gotten a single reply from any of the offices I've asked for help. I'm trying to stay hopeful because I really want to go through with my master's degree, but it seems like time is running out. Anyone else stressed about this?

Any current students that had a similar experience last year, but were still able to enroll? What if you can't get your visa approved til after your courses have already started?

Guys, I am starting my masters at Sapienza this year and for the first time ever I am applying to the Lazio Disco scholarship. In the first phase I did not count my income as part of the annual income, and I was eligible for a scholarship. Now chat gpt says that I must also show proof that in 2024 i was either unemployed or, if I wasn’t, I need to add my income to the total income of the family. Is this true?

I was admitted to the Bachelor's in Bioinformatics at Sapienza University for the 2026/2027 intake.

I submitted my Universitaly pre-enrolment application on 29 June 2026, and it is still pending. I have already emailed the Accesso Office and Hello Office, but so far I have only received the automatic reply.

My Italian student visa appointment is on 31 August, so I'm getting a bit worried about the delay.

Is anyone else still waiting for their Sapienza pre-enrolment validation/summary?

Hey, I’m looking for an apartment to stay in Rome, preferably in student-friendly area or near Sapienza University. What are the best areas? And which platforms/groups/sites are the best for searching?

My pre acceptance got rejected in the end of May because I failed to pay the $10 infpstud fee by 1 day. Now all of a sudden yesterday I got an email that my application got reopened. Does it even happen to anyone or anyone have any idea how did this happen?
