Recommendations Appreciated

I'm doing a bit of a road trip between Saskatoon and Toronto and so I will be stopping in Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, and the Sault. I'll have my dog with me so I'm looking for some recommended places to do a couple hour long walks. We walk all kinds of areas like parks, older neighbourhoods, wooded areas, or shop-lined streets. I could also use some recommendations for local restaurants for dinner and breakfast (extra points for a spot where I can grab breakfast while on our walk!) Thanks!
Best Motels SSM ON
Hi looking to see what the best motel is to stay in. Looking at staying two nights in either Trunk Road Motel or Adam’s motel. Any recommendations or info would be greatly appreciated. We have stayed in the Motel 6 but is sold out for the two days we need.
Friends 19-25

Update on McDonald’s (US side)
Hi folks. I see the McDonald’s on the US side is being torn down. I’m assuming it’s being rebuilt into something newer and more modern. Specifically concerned about the playland situation. Will the new one have a new area for the kiddos? I’ve already heard that all McD’s will remove the refill station (like ours on the Canadian side) so let me one finger salute the corporation for that one! Can anyone provide more details?

PUC diorama, was that real?
Is anyone else a survivor of the PUC presentations that had a diorama where they jump scared kids with stories of how they can be electrocuted in and around any part of their home?
They'd be telling a story of what a figure was doing then suddenly they lit up and there was a loud buzzing sound cause they were electrocuted?
Anyone else? Any photos? This was elementary in the 2000s
Pizza
So I grew up in the Soo, huge childhood memories, the best ones! Pancake bay, Bellevue park, old stone house, search mount ect! Is the pizza still as good as it was? When we would have hot lunch in elementary school, it was Mrs Bs, one donut and a pop! I miss the pizza( Auroras). I had a cousin who got pizza fed ex or flown out to him for his bday! Is this still a thing? We live in BERTA and the pizza is gross unless your ordering fire oven pizza . Thanks
Game developers
Are there any game developers in the city ? Or someone who's looking to get into game developing ? I'm an illustrator and content writer and would love to work on a project which I have; it'll work much better as a game but I do not know much about game developing/coding.
Feel free to DM. I will be streaming on Twitch tomorrow at 10pm, would love to talk to people!! AgeziCon - Twitch

Sootoday and Ken
First off I don't know if this post is allowed.
Second I wanna preface this by saying I am bias
First: Dan, was one of the best journalists that has graced the soo and he's gone.
Second: Sootoday as a news service sucks and is bias.
Third: Ken Armstrong is the new Dan, from what I've read that he posts,he reports well, and just the facts, no bias and he replies to comments(in the most respectful, but sometimes funny ways), if your on Reddit I'm sure you've seen it.
So I kinda just wanted you give a shout out to Ken for being real and a solid journalist.
I don't know this guy, I don't like sootoday. But I think he's the real deal and wanted to give him a shoutout.
Mods delete this if this isnt the right place to post this.

Best neighbourhoods in SSM, ON?
Looking for family friendly, sidewalks, mature trees, large homes (3+ beds/baths) and yards. What are your favourite areas of the Sault?
Any Resturant Recs
My wife and I are traveling to Ottawa from Thunder Bay with our dog and we're going to be in the Soo for the night this upcoming Friday, which is our anniversary of being married together - So I'm wondering if there's any resturants that do take out that we should try out? Thanks!
Do the EV chargers on the Canadian side work?
The reviews for the EV chargers on chargehub.com are not great.
Does anyone know if any hotels have a level 2 charger and allow you to plug in overnight?
Hi! I’m joining Algoma university this September, bachelor level, searching for some girls to connect with and searching for rooms as well. I’m 21 year old girl.
reddit.comComing to Sault Ste. Marie, Canada in a Few Days! What to Do? Where to Go? What to Eat? Will Be There for Multiple Days, Maybe Even a Week! :)
Hello Everyone,
I am going to be visiting your beautiful city, with a couple friends and family in a few days and we are very excited! So, what are some fun things to do in your city, hidden gems, etc, that y'all could recommend? I love nature, THRIFTING, animals, FOOD, history, spooky scary, (kind of anything really), entertainment; like rides or theme parks--I can't think of anything else at the moment!
Details: I am in my early 20's, female (with rest of group of friends and family different genders, and ages ranging from early 20's to mid 60's). I am visiting in a couple of days (driving there, from U.S. states through upper peninsula). For budget, just pretend there is none, but we also don't want to do something expensive, like the "Agawa Canyon Tour Train", which is $500 dollars for our whole group, altogether. For specifics on where my group and I will be based for multiple days--we are like a 20 minute walk from where we are, to the "North 82 Steak & Seafood" resteraunt. So to use that resteraunt as a pinpoint/marker, we are okay with driving 2 or 3 hours out of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, to wherever, for a specific fun activity or destination.
Some things we are already doing: the Sault Ste. Marie Museam, Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site, Gateway Casinos?, Soo Locks Tour, Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre?, along with some food places.
P.S., this is just how I type, I hope I don't sound too obnoxious or "American-y"--which leads to my next question...what are Canadian social norms, or norms about tipping and dining? Scared of speaking French, only know how to say "yes" and "no", lol.
Thank You for the Response (Also, Sorry for the Long Read!),
Have A Great Day :)
Moved to SSM 2 years ago after 20 years away
Been a hermit since I moved here, what's there to do in the east end? I'm open to making new friends, so feel free to say hello!
