I recently saw a few nostalgic tik toks about Scarborough things that no longer exist. That made me start thinking - mine would be the Burger Palace from Bridlewood Mall. It brought great childhood memories and I loveeeeed their poutine 🥹 What would be yours?
Our bird, Ojii, and Indian Ringneck Parrot, flew out as my mother was entering the house. He can say his own name and occasionally calls out, ‘watchu doing’.

I've been seeing a lot of Dog-strangling Vine (DSV) lately.
DSV is one of Ontario's most aggressive invasive plants. It crowds out native vegetation and is especially harmful to monarch butterflies, which can mistake it for a suitable plant to lay their eggs on.
What I didn't know until recently is that you can actually report and map sightings to help track its spread across Ontario.

If the vine is on private property, homeowners can contact 311 for information about managing invasive plants.
If you come across DSV, snap a photo and note the location before reporting it. The more sightings that get logged, the better the data is for controlling its spread and protecting native plants and pollinators.

This morning around 8 am I got a package delivered at my house. It was in a brown paper bag with no name or address. My wife was leaving for work so she kept it in the foyer. After she left, this guy with a British accent rang my doorbell. The person started asking me where the package is, apparently it has an ipad in it. I then found the package, saw the ipad. The person told me that it was doordashed to the wrong address. It should have come to my neighbour.I have never seen this guy before, but my neighbour does airbnb his basement. Showed me the receipt of the doordash. I didn't want to drag this on so I returned the package. Then after the guy got into a SUV that was parked in front of my house and drove away. This definitely sounds fishy and suspicious. I think it's a scam but not sure how yet. Checked my bank accounds/credit cards and my wife's as well, we don't see anything unusual. Has anyone else encountered this before? Did I get scammed?

Why does the left turn signal only last 5 seconds going southbound? This light is horrendous.
Doesn't make much sense as there is a row of cars 20 deep trying to make the left onto Steeles.
You'd think the light programmers would make this intersection more efficient.
Just a rant, so this building is supposed to be for single-family only. Now, there's people renting it out and sharing the unit with roommates. Most of them want access to Kennedy station but since it's being shared amongst roommates, landlords can hijack the rent to $2800 (min) for a two bedroom with zero updates to the unit. This pretty much ice's out any young family looking to rent. So frustrating. Property Management should take a quick search on facebook to see if someone is looking for a roommate.

I live in Malvern West (near Leaster Pearson CI) and in the mornings I swear I can sometimes hear roosters crow. Am I imagining it or do others nearby hear it too? I don't think raising poultry is allowed anymore but why would someone secretly keep a rooster instead of just chickens?
Is there any store (like XTC at Malvern Mall), that sells dead stock Y2K urban brands? My niece and nephew keep buying online and are getting killed by shipping fees, thought I’d find a spot where they can save money on the shipping.
The full moon rise last night was breathtaking.
I know there are many mixed run clubs and there are women only run clubs downtown, but I was wondering if there were any in Scarborough?
It’s intimidating because most run clubs have people running really fast…so I was hoping to find one that has a pace of:
Runners [8-9 min pace]
Joggers [10-13min pace]
Walkers [15-20 min pace]
I’m not looking to do a Marathon just to have it as a great cardio hobby. Although I will be doing a couple of 5Ks but at my slower pace.
And if there aren’t, would there be any interest in having one?

It is a beautiful day but the outdoor kids play area was closed. I don't take my grandkids often but it has always been closed when I am there. Has it ever been open?
