i have been working at scooters for less than 4 days and i was one franke and window by myself for the most part already . i don’t know if it’s just bc my store is kinda short staffed but i just feel like i’ve been thrown to the wolves. i feel i am doing a pretty good job though and i do much better learning as i go . i am just shocked bc in past jobs i’ve had they were practically holding my hand through things for at least the first 3 shifts but 2nd day i was working window whole time and today got a quick run through of franke and doing it myself? i did some of the online things in store my first day and been doing the rest at home . i saw the little training binder and it’s totally different than what ive been doing lol.. not complaining i like this way more but i was just suprised bc from what ive seen on here i
thought it would be more guided .
also do we get paid the hours we’ve spent on scooter university courses???
So yeah this is my first time actually posting on Reddit so apologies in advance. This month will be 3 years since I came from the Midwest to the East Coast. I’m a former Scooters employee and I’m so used to seeing a Scooters on every street or even across from each other. Coffee here is alright, I can no longer enjoy Starbucks iced coffee since the birth of my daughter. For me, it’s too bitter (which I used to love). Due to that, I’ve found myself just constantly missing Scooters. This is silly, I know. It’s a first world problem, I know. But it also reminds me of home which I do desperately miss. So.. mind helping a girl out?
I have an interview with my local franchise tomorrow and I was wondering if there were any current Scooters baristas that could give me pointers/ things to mention? I’ve previously worked at a retail Starbucks.
EDIT: I got the job thank you everyone <3
ordered two mini muffins this morning and when i pulled up to the drive thru i overheard a bit from two girls working behind the closed window. as soon as i pulled up i heard a frustrated guttural scream. i cant even describe the sound
one of them, in a “i cant believe myself” tone: “IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE TWO, BUT IT’S JUST ONE” or something like that
she kept saying that for like a whole minute and the other girl was responding to her in disbelief, i couldnt hear the whole convo but i kept hearing something about “TWO of them, NOT one” and im not 100% sure they were talking about my mini blueberry muffins but it was funny to hear nonetheless. after a couple minutes a girl greeted me at the window and she seemed completely collected.
this is actually not the first time i’ve sat awkwardly at the scooters drive thru window and heard this type of thing, same location too 😭 it feels like im in a sitcom lmao
im not complaining it kind of made my morning. also the muffins are nice little snack
edit: another time before this, i was waiting on a drink and i just heard some girl losing her mind and letting out banshee screams 😭 im 95% sure she was the same girl bc she had a distinct vocal tone
Try a white mocha blender with no espresso (could probably be ordered as a white mocha 'shake')
Add Lime Syrup, keep the whip, add graham cracker crumbles on top!!
Scooter is my favorite coffee chain but...
$140 for a free $7 drink is outrageous as is, the point system is aweful.
Over the last month my card totaled over $300 spent on coffee, egg bites, and shakes and still only recieved 354 total points. How do you figure?!?! That doesnt even include the cash i spent, and yes i made sure to scan BEFORE paying.
Idk maybe im just upset for nothing but, I feel like I signed up for their rewards program for a reason. Certainly not to feel like theyre just holding a carrot at the end of the stick so I stay loyal to them.
Id have stayed loyal simply because the coffee is good... but the program almost feels like bribery at best, and makes me really question their business practices as a whole if thats how much money they feel customers have to spend in order to be rewarded for choosing Scooters.
So yesterday we were supposed to get stickers (if you went early enough) and afterwards I saw they also had a badge as well. I didn’t get the smiles day badge, but I did get a different one for the Red Bull drinks. Did anyone else not get the badge as well?
What brand of cheese does scooters use for the Triple Cheese Croissanite?
My wife and I both agree that Scooters coffee doesn't have the same kick the last few months. It may just be us, has anyone else noticed anything lately?
Idk if it’s because I haven’t paid attention but I only just noticed you can choose light ice, no ice, or extra ice in the app now….. I’ve been wanting this since like two years ago because my drinks are always like 50% ice and even when I specifically request less ice I don’t see much of a difference lol. When did they add this?
