I wish people wouldn’t project politics onto Selena

I recently came across a TikTok that turned Selena into a political discussion and honestly it really bothered me as a fan.

What upset me the most wasn’t even the political part itself, it was seeing people say they would unfollow Selena, stop supporting her music, or remove her songs from their playlists over assumptions about beliefs she never publicly expressed herself.

I just personally don’t like seeing Selena’s name used for online political arguments or debates. None of us truly knew how she would feel about today’s political climate, and I think people sometimes forget that her legacy was always more about music, culture, kindness, and bringing people together.

Her family has also always seemed pretty private when it comes to politics, which is another reason why I don’t think it’s fair when people confidently claim what Selena would or wouldn’t believe.

Regardless of politics, Selena’s impact on music and Hispanic culture is still being recognized decades later, and I think that says more about who she was than internet arguments ever will.

I’ll share the TikTok in the comments for context, but I honestly wish people would stop turning Selena into political discourse online.

Can we please stop ???

So I’m part of Selena groups on Facebook (remember Facebook???😵‍💫😵‍💫) and I casually check it out once and while, but I’m really disappointed at how many Selena “fans” are making images of Selena with her family used with Artificial intelligence.

My problem is that it’s not creative, and it’s just sloppy looking. Real creative work doesn’t waste resources that we NEED.

Has anyone tried to separate Selena's vocals in "God's child"

I listened to it just now and somehow I can hear her vocals below David's example:

"Come dance with me" it was before Selena's "ven baila conmigo" you can hear them both say it but somehow David's voice is louder. can y'all help me?

Did Selena ever performed in New Orleans, Louisiana?

I know that Selena had performed in other states outside of Texas like Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, California, etc. But I was just wondering if Selena ever performed in Louisiana, like New Orleans? Selena definitely would’ve had a sold out concert at the Caesars Superdome, just imagine what the crowd would be like if Selena performed in New Orleans at the Superdome. It would be record-breaking just like her last concert at the Houston Astrodome (February 26, 1995).

💚 Selena in her Green Jumpsuit 💚

💚 Selena wore this iconic green bell-bottom jumpsuit with a belly cutout during her 1995 concert in McAllen, Texas! This outfit was designed & made by Selena herself! The jumpsuit has a rhinestone chain around the waist, which she later replaced with a black outfit after the chain began falling off during the show! 💚

💚 Selena’s green jumpsuit is now on display at the Selena museum in Corpus Christi, Texas! 💚
