Who else played this one like crazy?

This one and S2 are my favorites. I played them almost non-stop, and I still listen sometimes to the soundtrack. Payday! Sun is ahead! 😂

How does population work in S3?

I used to play this game as a kid 20 or so years ago, and now I found it again and fell in love. Watching those little guys walking around, carrying and crafting stuff and going to war is just awesome.

Unfortunately there is one thing I don't understand about this game:

How does population work in Settlers 3?

I know that you build residences and they spawn an amount of settlers. Does anyone know how many each of them spawns? I couldn't find that information anywhere.

What happens when I demolish a residence? Do the settlers that came from it die? If not, can I just build a new one in the same place to get more settlers? What about settlers with assigned to tasks? Will my woodcutters die if I loose/demolish a residence?

I will greatly appreciate any and all information about this topic.

Settlers 3 CPU never builds troops

The CPU has a full stockpile of weapons at the barracks, but never recruits any new troops. I noticed this in the campaigns Asia I Misson 7 and 8 and Egypt I Mission 2

"The First Explorers" - Würdiger Nachfolger der Siedler-Reihe?

Hey zusammen,

Settlers 4 gold edition, Missions CD conflict 3 Vikings, I can't seem to make enough wood, help pls!

I keep on failing to build a working economy, it might be bugged, feels like my wood disappears. I've never had to build this many woodcutters and I still cant make enough to supply my sawmills or my coal makers. I've tried evvverything (in game) that might help, but to no avail:(

I play on gog, this is in Normal difficulty, I'll switch to Easy but it wont help if I can't make enough wood.

Too much iron on the smelter?

Did something break or did the map creator just put a bunch of iron there?

S IV New World - Escape from Troy. Possible to beat all players?

In the New World mission, trojan 1, "Escape from Troy", after beating the mission by sending the foundation cart, 5 thiefs and 10 soldiers, is there any way to take over the map by defeating everyone?

I've tried to expand down towards this mountain with coal and iron, but never gotten strong enough to take over the castle and at some point the game just kept crashing.

All the other mountains I was able to check witn a geologist had zero ressources. And just building up mana production is slow and costly

What is, in your opinion, the most difficult S3 mission?

Some maps I would like to nominate:

Original Egypt 6 - You can possibly be attacked by L3 soldiers at 30 minutes

Original Egypt 8 - One of my favourite missions, but it takes lots of time and some ship practice to set up your trade routes, like in Egypt 4. And the roman can cast that conversion spell soooo often…

MissionCD Roman 5 - Possibly the least build-friendly landscape ever, resources are scarce or (not sure anymore) far out and attacks are made sooner than you might expect. A tightrope walk, depending on a few extra soldiers you hopefully have in time.

MissionCD Asian 5 - Attacking the southern island is a pain in the boots, you need to do the temple trick to gain mana for your first soldier upgrade, and using the suggested cannons is way less practical than you might assume.

MissionCD Asian 6 - No mana at the start, and the blue roman will wipe you out if you don’t rush your eco or screw up your attack on the yellow roman. At least your territory will be so gigantic that his priests will never arrive in time…

MissionCD Egypt 8 - After you united your settlements it becomes easier, but getting the ball rolling in your two bases that lack resources, settlers and tools can be tricky to figure out.

Amazons 9 - Pray that your thieves get those stones without getting slaughtered. If you suffer significant setbacks, its probably easier to reload.

Three Gods 3 - If you survive the first 20 minutes you should be fine, but it feels like a coinflip to do so.

Three Gods 6 - Rush a base and then micro your soldiers through a rain of arrows to the towers that guard the Gong factories while hopefully not losing too many units. And all this in 75 minutes.

Three Gods 11 - I only recently managed to beat this mission on normal difficulty without abusing an error in the map. Stealing the egyptian coal on this gigantic map with long walk paths and the AI inevitably sending soldiers towards your thieves is not fun - and so are their attacks.

Funny Bug: Uncapturable tower.

Didn't have vision of the invading army and paused the tower construction a tad too late. The last tick completed it, but it's not actually complete. It does show a soldier getting pulled, but even waiting 20 minutes, there's no soldier getting pulled. Meanwhile the enemy armies keep grouping up around the tower without being able to attack it.

Should be a free win with this bug, as I don't need any defending troops xD

Anyone come across this shit before?
