Owen offleash in the stairwell.

We are a couple floors up from the ground this was the first time he went all the way.

I think (or at least hope) that if any of the doors were open, he wouldn't force his way out and just wait for me.

New addition after our sad loss

Hello everyone! i’m new to the shiba family. I unfortunately lost the most amazing, special husky, Kovin, a month ago at such a young age of 6. This is Kaya. She is a 2 year old GSD/Shiba mix(from what the shelter told me) i don’t know if it’s too soon. it feels like it is, but i FELT kovin in kaya. the first meeting i had with her she was right in between my legs instantly. and kovin walked up and gave me a hug the first time i met him too. I miss my boy, but i love my new girl who is the ABSOLUTE sweetest little diva in the world. who also holds the soul of my old boy.

Excited Squeal

Kato loves journeys in the car and gives some impressive vocal performances. Unfortunately this time he doesn’t know that it’s the specialist dermatologist vet he’s going to and not the bark park or the beach.

Edited my post- trainer suggests we use a spray bottle. I need feedback

My little dude is just beginning his training journey after a hard start to life. I’ve had him for half a year and want to work on some negative behaviors as well as teach basic manors. The consult I had for a trainer today has me struggling. For negative behaviors they sometimes use a spray bottle to break the behavior. I have never used an aversive technique before-only positive. But he’s my first shib. And one of his issues is aggression (fear based) towards house guests. Obviously that’s a serious issue as he tried to nip someone already and we don’t want a bite!

Can anyone speak positively toward the spray bottle technique? It’s made me uncomfortable. If your Shiba has anxious aggression, what did you do that helped?
