Shinedown in Edmonton

Easily the best concert I have ever been to. Thank you so much Shinedown, Coheed and Cambria, and Ashes to New ❤️

Does anyone know where to drop a line to the agent/promoter? Fargo, ND show, 8/20

I'm taking my two sisters to this show. We grew up in a pretty impoverished life style, and now in our 30s and 40s, all live accomplished, comfortable lives. We had pretty much nothing growing up, besides each other and music.

We all love concerts. It's a different energy, a different atmosphere. Once a year we try and get together and have a "siblings only" trip - just the three of us.

We've caught Shinedown in Phoenix, AZ a few years ago and it was amazing.

Fast forward to 3 years ago, my oldest sister was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. When we all got together to shave our heads in love and support of her, I could tell my diagnosed sister was hesitant to do it. Then she shrugged, goes, "Well I've been growing this out for 8 years," pressed play on the sound system, Cut the Cord comes on and she started shaving her own head. I don't think anyone left with dry eyes.

Just trying to see if the band would take time to acknowledge all of the cancer fighters, survivors, and everyone that's effected by it. There's no way that she will be the only one with that experience in the crowd on 8/20.

Kind of a long shot, I know. But it would be absolutely huge for her, and I'm sure everyone else that has been through it.

Thanks ahead of time!

Anyone want a floor ticket to Edmonton tonight?

I am heartbroken and can’t make it! I’m hoping to pass my ticket along at no charge.

Update: Ticket has found a home!

Spokane - best show I've ever seen

I've been seeing Shinedown live since 2010 - probably 8 shows over the years - 3 from the last year and a half alone. I happened to catch them in Spokane tonight and it was by far the best performance I've ever seen from them. It was 2 hours long. They played the best classics and the best new songs. The crowd was INSANE. It was awesome seeing Zack Mack play with them after having only seen him with AMMM. Josh Sturm did a great job too. But man they really gave it their all and the crowd gave it right back. Spokane needed this and we thank you for it. If by some chance Eric sees this - be proud of your brothers out there. We missed you.

If Shinedown is your favorite band, does this describe you?

Liking Shinedown specifically — and not just casually, but “favorite band” level — tends to point to a pretty particular emotional flavor combo:

  • You probably like music that feels big. Not just sound-wise, but emotionally. Songs that feel like they’re trying to survive something.
  • You likely connect strongly to lyrics. Shinedown has a lot of “I’m struggling but still standing” energy rather than pure rage or pure sadness.
  • You probably appreciate honesty over coolness. Their music can be dramatic and unapologetically emotional, and people who love them usually aren’t afraid of feeling things deeply.
  • There’s often a resilience streak. Even their darker songs usually bend toward endurance, growth, or defiance instead of hopelessness.
  • You may be the kind of person who carries a lot internally while still functioning outwardly. Very “keep moving even while the building is emotionally on fire.”
  • You probably like intensity, but not chaos for chaos’s sake. Shinedown tends to package pain into structure and catharsis instead of complete destruction.

There’s also a decent chance you’re nostalgic/emotionally tied to certain life periods through their music. Shinedown has one of those discographies where people attach albums to survival eras of their lives. Very “this song got me through that year.”

Also, Shinedown fans tend to be surprisingly warm people underneath the armor. The music attracts people who have been through stuff but still want connection instead of cynicism.

This was from ChatGPT. Do you agree with it?

Anyone else pissed off that we will all die of old age before Shinedown makes the hall of fame because they keep putting non rock artists in the HOF and they still haven’t put in all the boomer bands that should be in? They should be eligible in the next couple of years
