Finished the entire Anima Event - Fun but tedious

As a pretext, I do work a demanding job but I work from home. So I was able to squeeze in quick plays during coffee breaks and lunch breaks, before work, and after work. I even went on a road trip with my GF. I had to use NVIDIA cloud to play quickplay games in the early AM for week 2 XD. I'm not really sure how anyone with any sort of a life was able to finish this on time and complete everything.

I really like Shion's gameplay kit and her character as a whole, so I REALLY wanted the Tokyo Tiger title. I already have the anniversary double table flips but I guess I'm retiring that. It WAS fun discovering the story plot points, the voice clips, and picking the path. But the path did seem irrelevant since I was aiming for a 100% completion for this event.

Some feedback/improvements on the event and events in the future:

  1. There really needs to be a banking system so you can overplay one day to use on another day. What if people can't play on more than 2-3 days of the week?
  2. The 12 games required on the 4th daily is brutal. That's about 6 games assuming you win ALL which is unlikely
  3. I wouldn't say make the prestige 100% completion titles easier to get per-se, but the event as a whole is unforgiving. I think it needs some slack here as respect to the consumer's time and sanity. Some people missed out just on a weekly reward etc due to how unforgiving this event is.

Anyways, good luck grinding out the rest of the event if you haven't done so my fellow hashimoto goons.

Enemy Mei ruined my game (Mostly Shion but some Junkrat in the end)

Replay code: J9B7F8

Battletag / in-game username: MementoMori

Hero(es) played: Shion, Junkrat

Skill tier / rank: bronze 2

Map: Hollywood

PC or console: console

Description of the match / things you want reviewed:

Before I start, I’m really sorry for spamming this subreddit with VOD requests, I’m fairly new and I dunno where else to get gameplay advice.

Anyway, first round in attack went great. Then one of the enemy dps switched to Mei and everything fell apart. This stupid ice monster was constantly walling me, flanking me and slowing me with her gun (ironic that the character classed as a flanker was being flanked herself)

Near the end I fully had enough of her, and in a vain attempt I switched to Junkrat, the logic being that I could at least break her walls (when playing Marvel Rivals I’ve had plenty of experience of switching to Squirrel Girl to break Groot walls, which seemed to me like the OW equivalent)

In terms of my own gameplay, I’ve been trying to play a lot of “shallow off angles” with Shion lately rather than hard diving like I used to when I first started playing her. In this game it helps that my Reaper was doing the real hard diving, he was legit really good.

I’m usually really bad at flanking in Marvel Rivals but when Shion dropped I really liked her kit and I found her super fun to play with without feeling like I was cheesing my way through the game (cough Sierra cough). I’ve been trying to look up as many Shion guides as I can, and I’m aware that because she’s so new, the experts might not have fully figured her out yet.

I am fully aware that there were several times from round 2 onwards where I just didn’t know where to look and was completely lost, that’s because as well as the Mei flanking me, there was a super annoying enemy Tracer, so every time I thought I heard footsteps behind me I would always look back.

Let me know what I need to improve on, and thanks in advance ❤️

I drew a shower idea of Shion as Power from CSM

I suck at drawing so its just drawing over Shion with some changes to the outfit.

is it better to hold or click when shooting with shion

most moments i feel like im shooting like cassidy but every now and then ill start tracking like tracer and it feels like its better till i make it a permanent thing then i go back to clicking.

both of these heroes i mained before shion so i dont mind learning either aim style but i js wanna know whats optimal or if im overthinking it and should just shoot how i like

Shion and Mizuki Barbie movie meme

An Amazing Commission! Drawing these characters was a brand new experience, and I hope I did them justice. Had so much fun bringing them to life, especially as one of my favorite memes! 😭❤️

Shion Colab Idea

C'mon, everything here just works, Blizzard, please.

Stop being wasteful

Dear Shion mains,

One of the biggest mistakes i see shion players in my faceit league matches and in normal matches is people seem to have forgotten cooldown management on her. While its not a bike only thing, im gonna talk about it since its the most costly one.

Remember that bike is super usefull for burst damage and mobility but has a long 15sec cd. So you want to make sure that the damage actually means something, chucking it as random poke achives very little and is lazy most of the time.

You want to make sure you actually do something with it, if you urgently need the mobilty to repostion or you can actually threaten someone, good. If you try to use it for damage make sure you are in a postion where you can potentially followup on the damage(this does not mean int into the enemy team)

I see this so often that the opponent randomly uses bike and basicly cant really properly engage or kite for 15 sec and its big advantage for my team.

TLDR put some thought into how you use your bike cd

10 years later!

Finally finally finally hit GM 😭, this has been a grind and im just getting started. Ive been playing since overwatch 1 season 2 but just started taking comp more seriously around season 20-21 OW2. I spent a lot of time focusing on improving different aspects of my gameplay, I climbed from diamond to GM open queue and from plat and gold to masters dps and support. Next will be GM damage!
