4-6+ order shoppers organization advice

How do you guys organize your cart/setup in the store with multiple orders?

What do you guys recommend that helps keep you sane when checking out. I have my own method that works for me but figured i’d ask to see if theres a set up I may way to try. For me i just label my reusable bags by initials and sharpie the bulky items that won’t fit in the bags

Where’s my pre tip? 2 1/2 hrs later and no tip

I picked up an order today with a Pre-tip. I have had this customer once before and they tipped well. It’s been 2 1/2 hrs and no tip has come through. Has this happened to anyone?

Hey, you know, everybody's talking about the good old days, right? (can it all be so simple)

And back then bonuses were easily attainable by that Friday. Eventually they went to daily bonuses (10 for $60 kind of bonuses) that still added up nicely for the weekly paycheck. This was before instant payouts, when all ratings were suspended due to covid. We dealt with a lot along with witnessing some of the worst sides of human nature.

Do you remember the good old days when everyone wanted a piece of the action but they had standards?

And then someone said ”it’s like they’re just giving money away” & it all ended…

Pre tip changed after the 2 hour notification

So this just happened. I did a order with a $15 pre tip. 2 hours after delivery i get the tip notification for $15 and 1 hour later it posts to my balance. Checked an hour later and the amount was reduced to $3. Didn’t know Shipt could do that. They changed the balance after it posted I assume the customer complained.

Preferred Customer adjusted tip

Curious if anyone has experienced this.
Today, one of my preferred customers added a few items to her order. She let me know she’d be increasing my tip (she’s a great PM, so I have no reason to doubt her). She had already pretipped $18.
Right after I completed the delivery, well before the usual 2 hour window, I received the tip notification, but it still showed the original $18.
Has anyone had this happen before? If so, does the adjusted tip show up later, or should I reach out to Shopper Pay? I tried searching the group but didn’t find much about adjusted tips.
Thanks in advance, and Happy 4th, everyone! 🇺🇸

Apparently there is nowhere closer??

This doesn't make a lick of sense 🙄. Does someone really expect to have their stuff driven 42 miles to them?

Rhetorical question. Of course they do.

Still disturbed over a shop today

Today I had a bundle first thing this morning. Included one of my PMs. Pretty simple shop nothing crazy. I should have dropped it when I saw the directions from the unknown customer. Please bring my groceries inside I am unable to open the door. I’ve had a couple of these and it’s never been anything that truly disturbed me. The customer (female) chatted over every single item on her order. Non stop. All texts required me to answer. Ughh. I get to this apartment complex. It’s not in the best area but not the worst. Her apartment is in the very back corner of this “complex”. Door is unlocked. I enter. It’s a tiny studio apt. All that is in there is a hospital bed. A small table. And a kitchenette. The lady was sitting in this hospital bed no lights on asked me to put her groceries on the bed. There was a number of items that required refrigeration and freezer. I took care of those and put them away. Several of these items she said she didn’t order. Y’all she did. She even approved a suggested replace for the Panera soup that was OS. She asked me to open the soup for her. Get her a paper towel and plastic spoon and a water and open it for her as well. She started to ask me to do additional tasks but I had my other order in my running vehicle and told her I was sorry but I had to go. I’ve been to some sketchy places and delivered to people who I felt badly for but this one took my breath away. I have had this on my mind all day. This woman bed ridden in this tiny room with not so much as a book or tv to occupy her. I’m sure someone must come to her as everything was spotless and she appeared to be clean and groomed.

Finding out why customers give less than five star ratings sometimes

When there are not enough, shoppers, I realize many orders end up in the open metro and for a long time. I realize that some people get impatient and blame it on the Shopper who then claims their orders from the open metro later after Shipt headquarters had to text them that their orders were going to be delivered in the next delivery window in the next, etc. I asked the opinions of some of my clients from another job and some mentioned they’d give a rating less than 5 stars if they thought the order was delivered too slowly. So this speculation could make sense. Especially when we do all the things correctly. Some of us are so used to getting braided five stars by everybody a random three star rating could throw us off at times. It is another thing for us shoppers to pay attention to. I know for me it makes me think twice of how taking order from the open metro that have been sitting a while after the customer has been getting taxed after tax about their delivery window going to the next one.

Just an fyi for Meijer shoppers.

I always tip my shoppers. But I want to make sure that shoppers who shop for Meijer know that they might see no tips or less tips than normal. Meijer charges a preauth hold of 4.95 (plus a percentage of your order total as pre auth) and now are doing preauth for tips. Two shops on two days (I forgot to get some items) led to just over $50 in hold fees that took 5 days to clear in my bank account.

I’m unable to drive due to disability so I relay on delivery but I just started to get hit the by holds. My last delivery driver said that she is getting less tips and more deliveries together now. I can’t imagine how this affects the disabled and elderly on a fixed income.

This is maddening for both the shopper and the customers.

Features that would change the game

After doing Uber Eats consistently for a few months during the current shipt drought (hiring waves + summer months), I’ve realized there are some key app features that would really make the Shipt experience better and more efficient. However, as a disclaimer, some of these ideas I had long before doing another delivery app and are based purely on my experience as a shopper. Let me know what you think about my list, and I’d love to hear the ideas you all have.

- mileage tracking (per order and overall)
- time worked tracking (per order)
- showing the store associated with an order on the payment history page
- the ability for a customer to drop a pin to their location or enable live user location tracking during drop off
- being able to see what attachment or message a customer “liked” or “loved” (THIS is my pet peeve)
- previously approved substitutions (instead of previously purchased, which seems ambiguous to me)
- previous drop off photos
- in-app submission portal for rating/late forgiveness (another peeve— i hate having to go to a separate website and type in the order id and my shopper id)
- easier way to report customer behavior (in app?)
- In-app navigation

There’s a lot more, but I’ll leave it at these. Drop your ideas!!

17 Orders Today 10 Non-Tippers

I had a really great customer today who tipped $70 bucks but TEN NON-TIPPERS??? First of all, 17 might be the most I’ve done in a one day shift. Today it was 8am-5pm. I normally try to get done by 2pm but it was rolling today. I can’t say this enough… This is a LUXURY SERVICE. If you don’t want to tip… I get it… GO TO THE STORE YOURSELF. We aren’t out here doing Charity. This isn’t Gods Work. The base pay is peanuts. 15% of the total is the minimum. If you can’t do that then don’t use the service. The percentage goes up from there depending on how difficult your order is. ie Cases of water and soda and more water. Don’t be stupid. And stop ordering 20 bags of Mulch and tipping $5. Have you lost your mind? Just because the bag is $4 doesn’t meant you should tip a percentage off that. Use your common sense!
I had a customer who wanted me to walk 10 bags to his backyard for $4 😳🤣🤣🤣. I was so glad he came outside that day to ask me face to face. That was fun. 🤩 If you play atupid games you win stupid prizes 🏆
From all the Shoppers out there… Tipping IS required. Rant over!

3 items for $15? Extra Pay? Newbies beware.

Little 4th of July gift to our beloved newbies.... know the math.

First, most areas pay about 27 cents a minute. 53 x $0.27 = $14.31 ... the added pay is only $1, and it's just as insulting as a $1 tip

Next, shopping minutes are better than driving minutes. 23 miles? Assuming both ways not counting driving to store, you're actually owning money if expenses are $0.50/mile ...even after the estimate tip.

And yet, while I'm writing this someone took it. I mean, whatever, people make their own decisions. But it's also clear that Shipt fleeces newbie shoppers that aren't looking at the entire picture.

Be safe, and if you're working don't let them disrespect you with unprofitable orders 🎇

Shipt has been an absolute joke lately. $7.84 for 140 items?!

140 items…. You’re kidding . Who in their right mind is going to pick this up.

u/tattedsparrowxo — 4 days ago

This makes me laugh every single time

Make it make sense! This is all that shows up as well. Do better shipt. My question is, why even tease us with a bonus if none of the orders qualify 🤣

u/Spicensugarxo — 3 days ago

Being late with bundles?

I took this order much too late but accepted that the second half of the bundle would be late. However, after I finished the order, I checked and it says it was on-time, but it definitely wasn’t. Is it just because I got the first half of the bundle done on time?
(I don’t know if order numbers matter enough to block out so I did just in case.)

Did they get rid of 9-10pm orders?

Past 2 days I have not seen an order for the 9-10pm window. Not even on OM.

9-10pm window used to be one of the most active drop windows

I'm in SoCal
