Hi, what would you put on a sig553? I balance between a simple red dot or an EO tech. Thank you!

Mounted a Co.p M4s and HK parts short vert grip today. I like the overall look and feel.

I bought the recent drop of pierce precision gas regulators to try in my Sig 751 SAPR. I also have a spare oem that I’m considering modifying. Pierce is the second photo.

The dimensions are almost the same but the pierce is a hair shorter. I’d like to try running it anyways because it does seem to line up enough to function, and it locks into all of the adjustments well. I’m by no means an expert so if this seems dumb or dangerous please let me know.

I recently picked up a Sig SCM, unfortunately I live in a cucked state, anyone know what grip from the following is the closest to grip found on sig SCM. I was thinking maybe the ergo 223, don't need the grip just the plastic crap.

I had been hoping my 2 magazine orders would have arrived by now. I was going down the path of doing a 3D scan of a swiss mag and of a t-mag so I could 3D design and print adapters that could weld or epoxy onto p/t-mags for them to lock into a swiss lower. I only have 2x 30 round mags and 3x 20 round mags and I would prefer more before I start running my 553 in matches and other events. By chance, I went on JDI's site to see if they had any railed handguards in stock because my modified magpul pic rail segments mounted onto the handguards seemed to get too much wiggle with a MAWL and Unity Raxis mount. I saw "1" 56x lower in stock with a picture. I recall the site never had pictures of the actual lowers so maybe something was up. Emailed Dave and confirmed there was 1 in stock! Immediately ordered.

I told myself I wouldn't dump tons more money into expensive parts for a few months but I couldn't let this opportunity go by given the uncertainty of CH export licenses.

Can't wait for it to arrive! Oh, and no handguards are in stock. Acheron handguard will need to be the path forward.

I'll also still go down the path of making the 3D printed adapters this summer so I can run the Swiss lower when I feel like it.

Two things, I have about 4-500 rounds through my 556R. I know the dust covers can wear out, but this seems premature for this to crack and rip like this after so few round. Might replace them, but at $40 a pop, idk if I want to do that yet.

The second thing is that the charging handle seems to be peening the back edge of the slot. Is that normal? Is something wrong here? What could cause or prevent this from happening?
