can’t wait for Silent Hill f to hit the Switch 2, getting the chance to experience this haunting masterpiece anywhere, even while lying in bed.
Hope it arrives sooner than ever.

Hope it arrives sooner than ever.
Is there a known glitch by any chance?
The scales puzzle piece will not lay flat it's turned and going into the door.
I am playing on casual story.
I've watched many videos for solving this it will not complete because that one piece sits sideways.
After playing through the Silent Hill series, including the original games and the Silent Hill 2 Remake, I went into Silent Hill f with high expectations. Unfortunately, while I can appreciate what the developers were trying to do, the game ended up being one of my least favorite entries in the franchise.
My biggest issue is that Silent Hill f does not capture the feeling that made the series special to me. The original Silent Hill games created fear through atmosphere: abandoned buildings, empty streets covered in fog, decaying environments, and the constant feeling that something was deeply wrong. The locations themselves felt like nightmares. In comparison, Silent Hill f’s environments often feel more like realistic Japanese countryside locations. They are visually interesting, but they rarely create the same sense of dread.
The horror style is also very different. Silent Hill f focuses heavily on Japanese folklore, symbolism, transformation, and themes of beauty and decay. I understand that this is intentional, but it simply did not connect with me the way the psychological horror of Silent Hill 2 did. Enemies like the flower creatures were meant to be disturbing, but they did not have the same impact as the unforgettable monsters from previous games.
The story also takes a direction that I struggled to connect with. The constant switching between realities and the wolf arm mechanic felt disconnected from what I consider the core identity of Silent Hill. Instead of feeling like I was trapped in a psychological nightmare, it sometimes felt closer to a fantasy horror experience.
My ranking of the series reflects what I value most in Silent Hill. My favorite remains the original Silent Hill 2, followed by Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 2 Remake, and Silent Hill 3. I would even place Silent Hill 4: The Room above Silent Hill f because, despite its flaws, it still captured the feeling of being trapped in an unsettling nightmare.
I would place Silent Hill f above games like Origins, Homecoming, and Downpour, but only slightly. Those games also struggled to capture the original atmosphere of the series, but Silent Hill f still feels like it has a stronger identity and more ambition.
Ultimately, I don’t think Silent Hill f is a bad game. I just don't find fighting flowers particularly scary. It has impressive visuals, a unique artistic direction, and clearly has a story it wants to tell. However, for fans who love Silent Hill because of the fog, isolation, disturbing monsters, and psychological horror of the original games, it may feel less like a true Silent Hill experience and more like a different style of horror game carrying the Silent Hill name.
I did not know what u wanted to do with the background which is why it looks like that.
My Instagram is @crimson_artk if u want to support me xx
Hi! I am two trophies away from the Silent Hill f platnuim. I am currently missing >!"Puppetmaster"!< and>!"LITF Combat run"!<
I have every ending and every possible weapon. Can I get the ">!Fox Wedding!<" ending AGAIN on the same save as I have gotten every other ending or do I need to start all the way over?
Thanks :)
Official event-exclusive tee.
Visited Kinkotsu Meguri in Gifu, the place that inspired the world of Silent Hill f, and had to shoot it there.
a friend of mine managed to find this in silent f files and found a model used as first person is it a DLC?? story in the past or anything???
Just finished this game, had the default ending (kinda lame having one default ending to all 1st playthroughs)
I dont even know how i finished this game
Normally i quit at some point. Theres so many things i dislike about it. I much more prefered the combat of SH2R, also the story is so slow and the characters just refuse to develop (who else was tired asf of Rinko at some point)
But i think the atmosphere is next to none, no other game captivated me like this. The japanese setting also helps.
Theres so many themes present, like mysoginy, mental health, bullying etc. And ofc, our cherished morally dubious main character with Hinako, which is such a signature move of this franchise
Am i seeing something wrong here? Feel free to spoil me, no way im replaying this game, gonna watch the other endings on youtube most likely. As ive stated, its a gut punch, both story-wise and gameplay-wise
Am i the only one who felt the final act just went on for too long? Also, what was the deal with Rinko? How did Hanako not punch her after the brat literally tried to kill her?
Cover art I made with some screenshots I took
Dont know whats going on pr how to fix it. When i turn up my graphics so that i can have the fog while i play, it will occasionally flash rainbow colours. This happens duirng my gameplay and my cutscenes and although it looks like im watching the aurora borealis, its not extacly the vibe im looking for. Anyone know what to do?
So around launch I finished nearly everything in F, save for Lost in the Fog Action.
Welp, finally got the itch back and returned to this lovely game to finish it off.
Finished it off with ending 4.
Before Silent Hill F was announced, I have always had this itch to play a Silent Hill game based in Japan.
I mean, no hate, but I felt like an American/European themed game is... Well, it's literally the norm, as far as I know. Or maybe I just played too many of those games. So it would be interesting if there's more game that sets in other parts of the world. Like Asia.
Asia is, in my opinion, a gold mine when it comes to horror. Like if you want Islamic horror, go to Malaysia, if you want generic horror go to Indonesia, campy horror -1960s-1980s indonesia, if you want anthology, perhaps Philippines with their Shake Rattle and Roll franchise, ritualistic stuff like Thailand, if you want weird disturbing stuff, go to Japan, and if you want something to cry to, go to Korea.
With that said, learning about Team Silent's origins from japan, I always thought, why not Silent Hill but, Japanese?
Some might say, Fatal Frame! Yeah, but, I don't want to justify why I prefer a Japanese themed Silent Hill than uhm... Fatal Frame? Both great franchises, but I lean more towards SH than I am of FF. Plus, I prefer physical manifestation of your psyche than ghosts.
And this itch is further fueled by the existence of a movie than I can certainly, IN MY OPINION, a Japanese Silent Hill, and I want to share it here.
It's called Pastoral: To Die in The Country. And I can assure you, it is one of the weirdest/disturbing things I've watched. The soundtrack is a masterpiece. JA Seazer? Love his works. The set pieces? Glorious. The cinematography? Fabulous. The general feeling of disturbing? Hit that spot to be a silent hill-esque media. I mean, it's not horror. It doesn't have any monsters or-- maybe it does, I don't know, I remember a floating head or urn-- or something, language barrier. But still. It has its theme of loss, guilts, and desires, so on. And it sets in a rural town.
And returning back to the soundtrack, here are my lists, not in any particular order.
Hymn of Praise / Wasan
Patron Deity of Children
Hell Verse
A Bird's Spring Lament
I may be wrong, so I'm sorry in advance. Just bought Silent Hill F, saw a lot of hate and second guessed myself, but you know what? No. Played Resident Evil Requiem, good game, but forever loyal to Silent Hill.
Edit: Uh, also, MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING, especially the ending. Just a heads up.
Edit #2: forget the ending, TW to the whole movie.
Silent Hill f has no business being involved with Silent Hill. The only people who like that game are the same people who never played silent hill before.
What does this game have to do with the lore of Silent hill 1 & 3? And don't tell me it's the plants.
Why is the combat so ass? Why do the characters feel so meaningless?
Just goes to show you in marketing. If a game will never do well on its own just slap the Silent Hill franchise in the title and it will sell
Drawn by kera (SHF Character Designer).
This was made to celebrate a new Steam bundle between the two series, both written by Ryukishi07.
I like Japanese places and culture, and the puzzles are very impressive. Before playing this game, I just finished SH2R, so compare this game to SH2R, this game is too rushed and monsters are too strong. Kill every monster just like one around the KOF game. SH2R just needs aim and shoot. I prefer dark and horror evironment , more place adventure and killing monsters easily. But I think this game is still a big work. And story is not bad. The scarecrow puzzles are very unique. And main character girl is very beautiful.
If you like it, I maight make it into a mobile wallpaper
Rant. Spoilers for NG+ endings.
Does anyone else think Shu gets forgiven way too easily?
He secretly drugged Hinako with White Claudia pills because he couldn't admit his feelings. And sure, maybe he didn't think Hinako would OD in ending 1, but he already knew she was developing a dependency on drugs. She gets her meds from him, he knew when she started asking for too much. In the Clinical Trial papers, it says it takes a few weeks before the red pills start showing effects. That means Shu was giving them to her prior to the start of the game. He had every opportunity to tell Hinako what they actually do and give her the choice whether to take them herself, but he doesn't.
His confession in Ending 2 sucks. He admits to what he did, and then makes it all about himself and how "he just wanted her to see how much he cares" instead of acknowledging he messed up and took advantage of her trust. Kanta had a better apology than Shu did, he explained his behavior while also acknowledging he was in the wrong. He doesn't try to make excuses for himself or tell Hinako how she should feel. You know who does? Shu.
And don't get me started on his "boss fight", if you can even call it that. It was basically Hinako comforting Shu and saying what an "awesome and nice guy" he is. Like girl, did you already forget he secretly drugged you? You could be more pissed off at him. Why are you just talking about how great he is and coddling him? This wasn't an accident, he knew he was being selfish and jealous and still did it. He only confesses here and in ending 1 because Hinako didn't act the way he wanted her to. In the 3rd ending he doesn't even confess at all bc Hinako "sided" with him, he felt justified in drugging her.
Also, Hinako talking to Shu in ending 2 just makes him worse? He became even more entitled over her in the ending where she's getting married. It leads to Kotoyuki and Shu bickering over her like a toy... At least in Ending 3 Hinako wasn't trying to comfort Kotoyuki during their fight and talk about how "sweet and kind" he's been. She actually got to say what she wants. Kotoyuki working hard for her sake doesn't mean she's obligated to marry him. Ntm Kotoyuki actually respects her wishes and lets her go in the end. A completely different outcome from Shu acting like Hinako still belongs to him after she "fights" him.
I ended up sympathizing with every character in this game (even the abusive dad!) but Shu's the only one I just can't forgive. He betrayed Hinako's trust, knew what he was doing was wrong, kept doing it anyway, and then only felt bad about it when it didn't work. He has both Rinko and Sakuko's worst traits (childish and self-righteous) but he's treated much better than they are. He's the most coddled character in the game despite being the biggest backstabber.
tl;dr: Shu sucks.
Ebisugaoka Town holds so much hidden tragedy beneath its surface.
