BVR combat really needs a rebalance

Chaff and flares are extremely overpowered. Spamming countermeasures makes you almost immune to missiles.

Most missiles are far too fast and barely lose any energy, making them almost impossible to dodge without flares or chaff.

There should be an option to limit the number of countermeasures aircraft can carry.

Countermeasures also shouldn't break the aircraft radar lock Maybe the missile radar lock.

Im not trying to make the game DCS but im sure there has to be a sweet spot where BVR is simple but fun.

NJ-70. Greasing the gears

Haven't posted here in some months, so here are some random screenshots of the NJ-70. The plane was an absolute blast to build, so consequently, I took a lot of screenshots. These are just 20 of 'em

New Aircraft of mine pulls PSMs

If you remember the F/A-40A on my page, this is it's successor.

Meet the F/A-40C, a multirole Fighter that I've been working on for some time.

Also

This is the part where I tell you this aircraft works best as an aggressor craft instead of a player aircraft because of the twitchiness. But I can assume someone good enough can tame this beast.

Trying to do AoA command instead of rate command (wip)

This is my personal project, trying to build a realistic F-22 flight control laws with care free handling but not realistic performance in SimplePlanes using GuyFolk's F-22 as the base build. Most if not all build with fbw that I've seen are with simple rate command (the pilot request a pitch rate mapped by the control stick), and simple aoa and G limit. But irl fighters are not as simple as that, they use AoA cmd for low airspeed and G cmd at high airspeed. Which means the pilot is requesting a specific AoA at low speed and G loading at higher airspeed. If the plane can do a maximum of 60 digress of AoA, the pilot pulls half stick meaning the pilot is commanding 30 degrees. If the plane can do up to 9Gs, the pilot pulls half stick, means the pilot is requesting 4.5Gs. And the fbw will do whatever it can, calculate whatever pitchrate is needed to execute the pilot request within the envelope limit. The code knows the plane's weight, how much torque and authority the control surfaces and tvc have based on airspeed, thrust output, altitude, aircraft weight to limit pitchrate and to how fast the plane can speedup and slowdown the pitchrate ensuring smooth control across all flight regime. With that information, the AoA and G limit being mapped to the stick, knows the current kinematic of the plane, slowing the pitchrate down even before meeting the aoa limit ensuring there is no overshoot. Also to know how much degrees the tvc and stabilators need to deflect based on the pitchrate delta is being requested. The entire fbw is highly unfinished and I am only working on the pitch axis only, no yaw/roll axis yet. As in the video, I'm demonstrating how well, how smooth and how accurate my AoA command works

Dashboard with windows issue

Hi guys, I am trying to make a dash for my plane’s cockpit but when I place the part and fit it in place, the windows turn parts of it into glass. I solved this in the past by making the whole cockpit interface at weird angles so it wouldn’t touch the windows, but now I am wondering is there an actual way to fix the part becoming glass. And no, I cannot reposition the windows at all. The depth of the window cannot change either. Let me know, thanks.

What can i do to make this plane look better, and i also need a good name for it

Im already happy with how it performs and its armament but im not completely happy with its looks yet, i also need a good name

Edit: Just so you know, this is based off of the la series of planes in the soviet union, but its not based off of any specific one of them
