Dictation is broken, predictive text is a joke, and Apple’s support site is an endless loop. I’m done.

I need to vent because the baseline user experience on iOS has become completely unusable.
First, Apple’s voice-to-text / dictation is easily the weakest link in my entire tech stack. I use it daily, and it constantly misunderstands basic words, forces me to go back, erase, and repeat the same process over and over again.
Second, the predictive text is just as bad. Instead of helping, it actively wastes my time by throwing out completely wrong suggestions and breaking my typing flow.
To top it all off, I tried to actually use Apple’s official support channel to complain. Siri completely failed to direct me to the right place. When I finally navigated to the support page myself, the site forced me to create a username, made me check a dozen boxes, and then—in classic broken fashion—looped me right back to the login page to start over.
Is anyone else dealing with this absolute regression in basic software quality? How is a trillion-dollar company letting core features like dictation and customer support loops remain this broken?

“Hey Siri play the new Aldous Harding album” “Now playing Alt Nation radio on Sirius XM”. Siri is has now confused itself with Sirius XM. I use Apple Music. Barely ever Sirius.

How is it possible to be this bad?

Siri Not Wanting to Define Certain Words

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting here so I hope this greets you all well. Nice to meet you.
However, my little query was about how Siri is now more sensitive to *specific* words than ever. I was reading something and wanted clarification about certain words and their definitions.

The words, adultery and heresies activated the prompt that is in response to someone who is considering suicide or self harm.

Siri would not even give me the definition straight out and I had to ask her to Google it or google it myself to find it. Does someone have a similar problem?? She sound sometimes sensitive to words that do not have any negative correlation and she will literally not do what I ask her to— no offense to robots or AI or anything, but what could be going on here? Does someone know all the trigger words that could trigger this response?

Siri Simple Weather Question

“Siri what time is it going to rain today”
Siri: “there’s a possibility of rain today”

YES I KNOW BUT WHAT TIME?

Siri: “there’s a possibility of rain today”

Siri Messaging

I’ve been having an issue with the last few iterations of updates where now if I ask Siri “text x” it will use Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, teams, smoke signals, carrier pigeons, just about anything except the text message I was trying to send. Is there any way to correct or subvert this? Are others experiencing similar issues? Any feedback would be helpful.

Why does Siri LOVE to play remixes of songs via Apple Music?

I just asked “Hey Siri, play This Feeling by The Chainsmokers” and it proceeded to play a random remix version of the song. Note, I have never listened to this version and it’s not in my library (shown by the “+ Add” button on the screenshot. Why does Siri insist on frequently playing remixes over the original versions of songs, is it a Siri issue and/or Apple Music issue? Drives me mad!

What’s even more infuriating is the original version of the song is in my library and favourited!

Claude can pretty much work for me, yet Siri can't tell the difference between :15 and 50 for an alarm

The title says it all.

I am *trying* not to absolutely loathe Siri, but where is this promised "Apple Intelligence"???

Case in point:

I ask, "Hey, siri, do more people part their hair on the left or the right?"

Siri responds with the exact same comment 90%+ of my queries are met with: "I can answer that question if you ask again from your iPhone."

WTF?!? Where is the "intelligence" in this? The most bog simple query to ANY search engine will return a simple, singular, answer: "left" or "right" (or possibly, "in the middle"). How is this too difficult for Siri on my HomePod to deal with? I don't want to leave the room, go find a (pocket) computer, type in my query, and finally get an answer to a simple, merely passing, question.

Worse, Apple seems to prioritize my "Address Book" data over all else, so if I ask something about a celebrity, in 99% of cases I will get an answer about someone I know whose name is similar (or not even close in some cases!) to that celebrity's name. This is worse than Eliza in the 1970s!! 🤦

Why is Siri so dumb

Can someone help me understand why Siri is so dumb. I have Siri to be always listening for the activation phrases, “hey siri” or “Siri”. But she never responds or appears on my screen. But when I have AirPods in she magically works. As far as I can tell no settings change when my AirPods are connected. This is not a new problem it has been a problem for at least a year (possibly 2 I don’t use Siri much and noticed it a little over a year ago) Any advice is appreciated.

I think some new and improved Siri testing is going on

Last night I casually asked Siri on my HomePod Mini what the weather was going to be tomorrow and it came back so fast that it caught me off guard. So then I started asking it questions that it never is able to do anything but refer me to my phone in the past and it answered immediately. I showed my wife and asked her to ask some of her questions that Siri struggles with and it started responding. Even tried some questions that were more based on opinion like silly things like "Which are cuter, puppies or kittens?" and without a pause it answered (it wasn't an opinion but a quote from Smithsonian magazine). But prior to yesterday it would have never answered that. Anyone else seeing improvements? I wonder if they are testing some of the new models....

Siri stopped working with 26.5

iPhone 17 Pro, AirPods Pro3, Apple Music and Overcast. Siri no longer follow voice commands. Listing to Music, say “Siri Next” Siri lights up, says lit, does nothing. No next song. Overcast, get to a commercial, say “Siri, fast forward 2 minutes “. Siri lights up, mutes Overcast, stays lit, does nothing. Just hangs, mute, with the Siri phone halo on. Worked fine yesterday on 26.4. No longer works. Anyone else?

Facing Issues with Siri

Lately my Siri has started acting out, whenever I ask her to call people from my contacts she will look up some random name/shop/place on some maps and call them. This has become such an issue that at this point she almost NEVER calls my contacts and only primarily looks up places on maps with phone numbers
Earlier it wasnt the case, she would sometimes mishear my pronounciation and pull up a different contact but it would still be my contact only.
Any one else facing this or anyone knows how to solve for this?

Did Apple silently removed "Siri" trigger in ios 26.4.2/26.5?

I recently updated to iOS 26.4.2 and then the 26.5 beta RC, and I noticed that the option to trigger Siri using just "Siri" (instead of "Hey Sir") is gone.
I contacted the Apple Support and they said: it was part of the „older versions" and that they don't know if it will come back or if its a bug.
Does anyone still have this option in their settings under 26.4.2/26.5?

did you tell Siri that she was dumb today?

it seems like on a daily basis. I'll ask Siri something and she'll get what I say completely wrong and then of course I'll tell her that she is dumb as a stone and she'll tell me that's not nice. What I'm wondering is how many of you have told Siri that she's dumb?
