Rub-offs discussion
Got a mate who’s got a set of regular oxblood 1460s, that honestly are a bit scuffed up. Like any good mate would do, I’ve given him my learned methods of getting them sorted out. Pretty simple as they’re not deep gouges or in any place where it’s gonna mash up that horrible PU shit over time, just some scratches on the toe box etc.
Advised him on products I now use / would use (thanks to here and the Solovair sub)
Anyways we got talking about rub-offs (but stop there, I’m taking about boots here lmao) and I think he’s interested in potentially darkening his oxbloods and going for that rub-off effect.
It’s not something I’ve done, so honestly I’d like to know for myself & hear what real people have to say about their experiences, materials used and methodology.
