Daycare Recs in Smyrna

Planning to enroll child in Daycare around Jan. We are looking at Kiddie Academy or Celebree School, but was hoping anyone could provide personal experience with Kiddie, Celebree or recommendations for any other daycares in the area. Thank you in advance!

Any Real thrift stores left?

Park Avenue is getting too pricey, (and we don't even talk about GW). Even America's Thrift on Canton has priced themselves out of my range for thrift. Smyrna thrift is ok, but I'm looking for some variety. I don't mind driving 20-30 minutes for a good selection and reasonable prices. I mostly look for craft/sewing supplies and jeans or clothing to upcycle.

Practice spaces?

Hi all, just moved up here and looking for somewhere to practice classical guitar and singing. At my hometown college, we had several music practice rooms as well as a non-denominational chapel that was usually empty and a great place to practice in. Anybody could use the rooms or the chapel for free with no questioning as long as it wasn’t reserved. Any ideas on similar spaces in the area (or surrounding areas, I’m okay with short drives)? Not sure what schools around here would be okay with a total rando using their spaces. Also, I’m not religious so I’d love to not join a church or group to use a chapel or room lol.

Thanks!

Framing recommendations

Do you have an art framing place that you love? Ideally not wildly expensive but I understand it’s art in itself. Have a few diplomas and weirdly shaped pieces I’d like to get framed.

Truck unloading on Atlanta road

Is this normal/to be expected/legal? About 5:30 today there was an 18 wheeler unloading ON ATLANTA ROAD blocking a lane outside of stillfire/beto. Is there really no other area for them to receive trucks? Is this what we can expect from now on? Losing a lane of traffic during peak traffic during a weekday? Yikes.

What happened to DeFlock Cobb flock safety meeting today?

I came at 6 and 7 to the library and no one was there, nor was the room ever booked. Who was the group over that? Are any of those “week of action” events legitimate?

Need help with apartment hunting please!

My brother and his friend (students) are looking for an apartment to rent with a budget of $1200 a month.

They’d like to move in quickly ideally within this week.

Looking for a decent place with good reviews, no roaches or mold problems. Got any suggestions?

Vet recommendations

I’ve got a small cat who’s about 5yo.

I have taken her to Cat Care of Vinings but just not happy with them at all. What other local vets should I look at? I don’t mind if dogs are there too. Closer to W Village the better.

Kroger's gas prices are wild.

I cannot tell if it has always been like this. I usually fill gas there to use my "points" to get a few cents off. But, I noticed that the 87 was at $4.09. That is higher than the surroundings which is around $3.89 (yesterday/today).

Now, even with the "points" applied, which this time was $.10, it appears I still paid more than if I had stopped by another station. I was disappointed and surprised at the same time.

New Coffee Spot Near Kroger on South Cobb/Concord

"Dutch Bros Coffee is opening a new drive-thru-focused location in the Kroger shopping center at South Cobb Drive and Concord Road. Site work is already underway on the outparcel facing South Cobb Drive, although an official opening date has not been announced."

From a quick Google search...

"Dutch Bros Coffee is famous for its high-energy drive-thru culture, hyper-friendly "Broistas," and massive selection of sweet, customizable specialty drinks like the proprietary Rebel energy line and dessert-like freezes. Founded in 1992 in Oregon, it functions more like a high-speed, upbeat social experience than a traditional quiet coffeehouse."

At least it's not another car wash?

Local track open to the public?

Looking for a track (400m, ideally rubberized with lanes) to get some laps in. Cheney Stadium is the only one I’m aware of, but hoping to find something in the Smyrna area. Any options?

PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!

On 08/12/2026, I went for a walk by chestnut HIIll RD. I’ve never notice anything out of the ordinary until yesterday I was walking on the trail when I noticed a Green GMC (picture as reference) with some red on the side pulling into the parking lot I am thinking that it’s another person coming to the trail. As they were pulling in to the parking lot I kept my eyes on them but I realized that they were going to park where I was walking I heard them honk their horn and it caught my attention but kept walking. This person NEVER ended up staying at the trail he left. I’m not sure if I’m way into my head but for him to pull into the parking lot and honk his horn then leave once I didn’t pay no attention to him was odd. I’ve been followed to my car and it’s very scary. I was on the phone with my boyfriend and told them what happened he found it weird as well. Ladies be aware of your surrounding.

Turfpride Lawncare

Has anyone in the city had recent dealings with them? I've been a customer of theirs for a decade and had no issues.

Recently, that has changed the last few months. My grass is dying, we think some find of infestation or disease, weeds are growing etc. I've called the office and keep getting the runaround that the manager will call me.

Finally they were supposed to show up today, and no show. This is really hard to type this but their service seems to have gone downhill. Anyone with similar issues? Any recommendations on replacements?
