No luck so far :( could it still get better?

No luck so far :( could it still get better?

This is night 5 in the Snoo and our “best” night so far. We’ve tried fiddling around with settings but no luck
We’re currently renting it and so far aren’t convinced we should move ahead with purchasing.. is there any hope for us whereby this improves?

SNOO affecting head shape?

Hello all-

We have a 6 week old (two week old adjusted she came a week early). As it’s our first, of course we are paranoid around just about everything.

Our little girl has quite a bit of tension which has made her really favor laying on one side. Today we went to a Craniosacral appt to do some light PT and learn stretches and whatnot we can do at home.

The specialist was a hater on the SNOO, she said it can really lead to a baby have a flat head or misshapen needing a helmet in the future, but have never hear of such things.

Anyone ever heard this issue? Hard to believe that would be a think with how many people use this daily and it not be a known thing. Just being overly cautious.

When to stop swaddle?

I was going to stop the full swaddle when she starts to roll. But in my due date group, there is a post where many people already stopped swaddling at 8 weeks. My baby turned 8 weeks today - when did you guys use the arms out in the snoo?

Are long contact naps sabotaging nighttime sleep?

A good night in the Snoo for our 12-week old is a 4 hr stretch followed by a 2-hr, and then a 1-hr, at which point dad does an early morning stroller walk so that I can sleep another couple of hrs. Some nights are far more chaotic than this.

During the day, he regularly naps for 2 hours at a time in my lap. I try to cap at 2/2.5 hrs for fear of it messing with nighttime sleep but I’m starting to wonder if that is even too long. I also try to do at least one Snoo nap a day, which is never longer than 40 mins (I know this is developmentally normal).

I really love our contact naps. I’m taking online courses so I have a lot of couch time to spare. He’s a super clingy boy who loves to sleep on me, and since he can’t do that all night it’s nice to give that to him during the day.

Somehow, I’m coping with the lack of sleep fine. The system is working. But in 2.5 months I’ll be back at work and I would really like to be down to 1 wake up a night by then (or fewer but trying to be realistic).

So do I proactively stop contact napping now in preparation for going back to work, even though we both enjoy those naps currently? Or do I soak it up for as long as possible and risk it being a harder habit to break come September? I hate that being a working mom creates these decisions!

how did you know it was time to move out of snoo?

4 month old who has been arms out comfortably since like 7 weeks, but does seem to be quickly approaching time to transition to crib based on length alone, curious how / when everyone knew it was time (if you moved out before 6 months). on weaning mode and it’s been going well but i don’t want to part with the snoo before i have to!!

Struggling with swaddle & arms out

My baby (almost 5 months but a preemie so more like 4) started to roll and is still swaddled in the snoo for naps & night. She fights the swaddle (pulls her arms out multiple times a night) so we’re trying arms out and that has also been tough because she struggles to fall asleep and then wakes up and plays with her hands 🫠the other night she was up for over an hour with her arms out and wouldn’t sleep so we eventually gave up and reswaddled her and she fell asleep.

Did anyone else have a similar experience with this transition? I thought she was ready for arms out but now second guessing it and think she might not be ready yet or maybe we just have to tough it out for a few more days.

Any advice or reassurance welcome :) we’d love to get her in her crib soon but seems like a long journey away lol.

Mold 😭

I am using my Snoo for the fourth time with my fourth baby. This baby is veryyyyy spitty. I went to wipe it down and found this behind the mesh when I opened it up. Am I outta luck 😭😭😭😭 is it trash bound?? obviously I can’t let him sleep in it without some insane cleaning and I don’t even know if that’s possible.

Desperate for the snoo to work for us!

Hi all, my baby is turning 7 weeks in a few days. Right now waking every two hours in the bassinet. We rented the snoo early on, tried it when he was a few weeks old and he seemed to hate it - especially being fully swaddled, it’s like he would wake up and panic that he was swaddled and didn’t have his arms and the motion would jsut make him cry more. We gave up and it’s been collecting dust. He’s happy in a LTD swaddle with arms up, but still having these wake ups. I’d like to try again with the snoo now that he’s older - how did you all introduce your LO to the snoo successfully? Any routine or tips that worked? What should my expectations be for giving it time to “work”?

SOS- contact only sleeper!!

We’re the lucky parents to a beautiful almost five week old. But….this little girl demands to be held in order to sleep. When held, she can go 3 hour stretches by day and 5 hour stretches by night, silent and still- we call her our statue!!

We know the SNOO can be a learning curve and we’re super committed. The past three weeks, Dad and I have been taking shifts throughout the night, while I’ve also been manning the day.

We rock her to sleep in our arms, and put her in the SNOO. 25 minutes later, the SNOO soothing starts, and after three minutes, it’s time to get her and rock her back to sleep. Since it takes time and effort to rock her to sleep, we’ll hold her for the next few hours and she’ll get a great nap in. We’ve been hoping she’d become more comfortable and familiar with sleeping in the SNOO, but so far, nothing. We put in her in the SNOO at least 5 times each 24 hour cycle.

I will add, I’m a strong believer in wake windows, so after her nap, she’s fed, burped, held upright, and some sort of play or talking to if there’s time, and then back to bed. She’s on a great schedule, and is doing great- not fussy and goes to bed nicely in our arms. We’ve started putting her in the love to dream swaddle since she loves her arms up, with the snoo sack over it and through her arms.

We’re really losing it, as I have to start work up again soon and Dad isn’t functioning well in school.

If you’ve had an exclusive contact sleeper previously, please let let m know any tips or tricks!!! Send help!!

Transition swaddle for crib naps

My baby is three months old and we’ve started to do naps in the crib. I swaddle him in the Snoo transition swaddle with his arms out because he started to show signs of rolling, but his naps only last about 15 minutes like this. At night he’s sleeping in the Snoo with his arms swaddled in and he sleeps through the night and has since he was a 2 months old.

I’m thinking about trying the magic Merlin suit or the dreamland swaddle. We are going on vacation in two weeks and he will be sleeping in a pack and play which he’s done before, but not with his arm swallowed out.

Any recommendations welcomed :)

Snoo with 8 week old

Looking for advice/reassurance about our first few nights using the Snoo with our 8 week old.

Prior to the Snoo, our baby was doing almost all sleep as contact sleep (both day and night). They can sleep 3-3.5 hours at a time at night when held. My partner and I were taking shifts staying awake holding them overnight because they would only sleep 5-10 minutes in the bassinet (if that). We were becoming completely exhausted, so we decided to try renting a Snoo.

We’re now on night 3. The first night was surprisingly good and they did two separate 2-hour stretches at the start of the night. However, the last two nights they’ve only done one 2-hour stretch initially, then mostly wake after 15-45 minutes for the rest of the night. We have only been trying it for night sleep so far.

For those who transitioned from mostly contact sleep to the Snoo:

  1. What were your first few nights/weeks like? How long did it take for your baby to adjust?

  2. Did you continue some contact sleep while transitioning, or did you try every sleep in the Snoo?

  3. Should we be trying the Snoo with daytime naps too or try this at a later point?

I’m trying to work out whether this is a fairly typical transition from contact sleep or whether we’re doing something wrong. Any experiences or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Snoo-ing as needed?

Our baby is 8 weeks old and we’re just now starting to use our Snoo at all regularly. To date, we’ve mostly just used it as a static bassinet.

Our baby sometimes sleeps pretty well. That is, he goes down at a reasonable hour and only makes noises when between sleep cycles or in need of a meal or diaper change. Other times he takes 4 hours to go to sleep and stay asleep for more than 5 min, and even when he is asleep, he sounds like a fright train (not fully waking or crying, but never fully settling, either). The Snoo seems pretty effective at calming him in the latter scenarios.

Our plan is to just use the Snoo as needed when he’s not sleeping well. So we’d try to put him down ourselves without turning it on, but if he’s struggling to go down or sleeping really loudly, we’d turn it on.

Anyone else have experience doing this? Any reasons it’s a good or bad idea?

9W baby isn’t sleeping longer than three hours

Hello friends. We purchased the snoo before our baby was even born but only started using it since he turned 8 weeks. We’ve been dealing with reflux, gas, and a cow protein sensitivity and the baby would always spit up in the Snoo until we recently found out about the leg lifters.

Even now, the baby can’t seem to sleep longer than three hours. Do they gradually give longer stretches even with the Snoo? I swaddle him with his arms in, should I try arms out? Any tips would be appreciated

Swaddles

Hey everyone! Y’all convinced me. I’m picking up the Snoo today! My LO is 5wks old and has been swaddled with the LTD since he prefers his hands by his face. We keep the house at 75-76F (hot weather place, like it’s over 100 outside today). Should I just try the Snoo swaddle and see how he likes it?

If he doesn’t like it or can escape then any advice for that?

Should we get one?

FTM here with a 5wk old who sleeps 1-3 hours (*each sleep cycle) overnight. Usually I have troubles getting him to re-settle around 4-5am. I’m due to go back to work at 10-11 weeks PP, husband goes back to work next week. We get decent stretches it seems with a regular bassinet. Would getting a Snoo be worth it especially for future sleep regressions?
Anyone go from a regular bassinet to a Snoo at around this age and have feedback - good and bad?

ETA: I got one! It got us a 2.5hr nap today for first time use. It’s the longest non-contact nap as of yet!

4 mo, baby gets angrier when snoo kicks in

Now that our LO has turned 4 months, it feels like our baby just gets angrier as the snoo goes up levels. Anyone else go through something similar?

Mattress protector

Do you use mattress protector with Snoo? I bought some from Amazon (https://a.co/d/0fc4Syvj) but between the snoo sheet and this cover the mattress wont lay flat. The snoo sheet seems a bit tight if used with these. Not sure what to do.

Our baby is due in 2 weeks and hoping to use the Snoo as soon as we bring her home.
