How do I do a deep clean in my SodaStream Art?

I noticed some black flaky gunk today when fizzing up a bottle. When I investigated I found all kinds of black gunk built up inside the machine 🤮 I scrubbed it with a brush, sprayed inside it with my kitchen sprayer, took it outside and sprayed it with the hose, them brought it back inside and did what I'll call a "bottle clean." I put a pink of dish soap and some white vinegar into the bottle, attached it, over pressured it until it started really fizzing out, then missed the bottle so the carbonated vinegar dish soap water would spray inside it. I've managed to get most of the gunk out, but some remains and I did the bottle clean things a couple times.

I want to take it apart so that I can get inside the machine and clean it up properly because that's nasty crap in there. Can anyone point me to a video or does anyone have a step-by-step guide on how to do that? Thank you.

Blue CO2 Canister but w/ Qucik Connect top?

My Terra broke so I bought a replacement off FB Marketplace. The Replacement came with one regular pink QC bottle and one that was blue but with a QC top. Any info? I initially thought it was a screw connect bottle and only noticed when preparing to give it away.

Posting in part bc Reddit search brought up a couple of threads where this combo was mentioned but discounted as misinformation.

Has anyone ever exchanged pink for blue bottles through Sodastream?

My SS's button broke, and I am making the switch to a drinkmate. I want to exchange my pink bottles for blue bottles. Anyone have any luck doing this?

Syrups missing key ingredents. Ginger Ale without ginger. Tonic without quinine.

I had an upset stomach so went to get some ginger ale. Stomach was still unsettled and found the syrup has no ginger in it. I'm sure it used to. Then checked the tonic water -- no quinine.

What's the point of having the syrups without their traditional ingredients.

Does anyone know reliable syrups?

Co2 tank markings

Hello, i got this tank used so i can trade for a filled one at airgas or other stores for my new sodastream, and was wondering if anyone could tell me if its expired or not and if not would companies even take it for an exchange? Or is it just a paperweight

Where to get CO2

Where are you all getting CO2???

I wanted to get a 5 lbs tank filled.

I went to the local Airgas place and they told me $150! That’s outrageous. Where do I go to get it filled cheap?

Mind you this was just to fill the tank - not to buy the tank. I see people quoting $15-20. Where?

I bought SodaStream CO2 at Target. When I take it out the box I see it’s not fully sealed. Is this normal?

This is my first time to buy a CO2 cylinder at a retail store, so I am not sure what to expect. The seal doesn’t cover the cap. I understand they recycle the cylinders and that’s probably why this cylinder is in a poor condition, but thought they would seal a filled bottle- is this normal or did I pick up a compromised product?

UPDATE: Exchanged it with a properly sealed one. The Customer Service guy at Target said sometimes people just leave a used bottle on the shelf. Lessons learned- always check inside before buying. Thanks for your help, everyone!

(UK) Has SodaStream changed or am I just too dumb to push a button

I grew up in the 80s with a SodaStream (or equivalent) in Germany where sparkling water is a lot more common.

I moved to the UK 30 years ago and now son wants sparking so I bought finally one (40 years after using one lol).

We have the one that has a quick fit gas bottle and is automatic (three buttons on top).

It doesn't matter whether we have just sparkling water or a mix, the co2 seem to go almost immediately after pouring.

So at highest level you think you lift off from the bubbles, when drinking straight out the bottle.

But pour it into a glass and the movement seems to be enough to get flat almost completely.

if you pour syrup into the bottle, it goes flat

What is the deal, is that what it is nowadays? You fizz it up and better not move it ?

Is that normal ?

Where is that sound coming from

A couple of days ago that noise started apearing, it gets quieter the more the water is carbonated, but i have the feeling half the co2 vents out the back somewhere? Anyone has an idea?

Looking for an alternative to dash water

Hey,

Currently buying dash water cans but this is working out quite expensive. The reason I like dash is its just water and fruit extracts so there no crap in it. Has anyone managed to find some drops or something similar which can just be put straight into the soda stream?

Seltzer water

Where do you get flavors for seltzer waters besides bubly drops? I do like them but only a few flavors. I just got mine and I really don’t like the soda syrups and I got it because I go through so much seltzer water. I have tried liquid iv as flavoring and that works but it no longer just tastes like water with flavoring it tastes like liquid iv which is delicious but not what im looking for lol some of my favorite flavors are the target brand pomegranate and dragonfruit, polar strawberry watermelon, Waterloo guava melon, Waterloo tropical fruit. Thanks!!!

New Flavours in Canada

Pepsi Cream Soda 0 sugar syrup. Just in time for the summer treat.

EDIT: looks like they either put cream soda on sale by accident or it's sold out. It's nowhere seen in their official website.

Syrup Question

Does the Pepsi syrup taste off to anyone else? My bf and I are new to the soda stream game we tried the Pepsi flavor first and it has a horrible aftertaste. Is our syrup bad or is it the Pepsi flavor? Photo for the Pepsi flavor we currently have. TIA

Recreating LaCroix Flavors

My fiancée love the limoncello la-Croix and we go through them soooo fast - instead of continuing to buy them, I was thinking of getting a sodstream or something to make it ourselves at home. Has anyone tried to recreate the flavor and does anyone know what is required before I put the money into a sodastream?

We also the love the Orange flavor, I imagine that is a lot easier to recreate but would also love home recipes for that as well if anyone has tried it :)

DIY 3D-printed stand to refill canisters

Made this in tinkercad to hold a 5 lb tank upside down while refilling (the legs had to be printed separately & glued on). The oven mitts are used to cushion the weight & distribute it more evenly. The cavity into which the 5 lb tank is designed to fit is about 1 cm wider than the tank to ensure it can fit without issue, thus without a cushion the entire weight of the tank would rest on the narrow inner edge.
